Look y’all, as I said I understand keeping Lauri, but I just fear a situation like the one you just abandoned. You just did all this to be more than a perennial 50 win pre finals exit and I see a path like that possibly unfolding. You also had a guy as good if not better than Lauri as well as at least a t25 player in Gobert.
“Trade Lauri because Utah only gets players through the draft”. Bro Utah has 13 first round picks to deal with 💀 Jazz could trade all of those suckers for Doncic and I believe your opinion on this would change. Imagine saying OKC should “trade Shai” for the exact reasons you said Lauri. Really really hot take imo.
I just fear even if you get another t25 level guy in that it’ll just be 50 win pre finals exit which you just decided wasn’t good enough. Luka is kind of your only hope and I feel like he’s staying put. I understand wanting to keep him as I said, but I just really fear that you won’t be able to compete with OKC/MIN/MEM/SAS when they all get rolling.
@@MunchCrunchTime ok we understand that. But, 13 first rounders (most of which of teams expected to be in lottery at that time). Do you think selling a potential perennial all star at 26 years old, 7 foot, potentially 50-40-90 guy, in the modern NBA? I would 100% agree with you if the Jazz did not already have the assets you’re saying they need so bad. Next time you watch the Jazz, I want you to please please please consider the draft assets they have. Trading Markkanen for 3-4 more 1sts makes zero sense. They have the ability to trade for 2 top 25 guys and keep Markkanen 💀😂 that’s what I’m trying to tell you.
Everyone forgets about the damned coaches this ain’t coach Q anymore and I feel like Utah is sneaking. Utah knows and has shown they can compete and beat a lot of teams in this league and the whole organization wants ALL THAT 💨💨💨. I think clarkson resigning is a good indication of the connection with the guys and especially coaches. He might not lead us to the promise land Jordan easily could have walked to a team with higher upside. Utah creeping imo.😮
Why on earth would you choose 9 and 1 of the timetable you are talking? 🤔 I mean they are also 12 and 2 or 15 and 4 which would both better accentuate the awesome run they are on. Having Lauri as an offball master in the team makes it a lot more likely for them actually keep any other stars they would trade for with all the picks they have. Good players want to play with other good players (I'm not talking about superteams but having a chance to compete). So that's one of the reasons why Utah should think twice before trading Lauri away. As is the fact that he wants to stay.
The fact that Lauri wants to be there is actually a great point that I should’ve gave more thought to. I just don’t know in the supermax era who will become available. I just fear a scenario where you never truly hit bottom and have your ceiling capped as a result. Btw I chose 9-1 cuz idk 9/10 sounds pretty good no? 😭 15-4 is arguably better but 90% is 90%
He’s an absolutely elite talent, but just won’t be able to be the best player on a championship team. That’s not a knock whatsoever, that’s reserved for at most maybe 7-10 guys. I just fear a situation where you pay him 5/250+ and never get to a true rebuild and have your ceiling capped as a result.
meh... utah has enough draft picks. what this guys lack is playoff experience.. giving george the Main Man role without the experience to fall back will make or break a player, that's how you create a bust..
I agree that Lauri doesn't have the dawg in him to be a true #1 on a conference finals team. It doesn't mean you can't keep him and get another 1a type player. Jazz have a ton of players on rookie contracts and draft picks to make this work.
I wouldn’t say they would crumble. Would they struggle a bit? Yes but they wouldn’t fall apart. They have such a good team with so much depth coming off the bench that I’d say Kris Dunn gets injured, they could throw keyonte into the starting lineup, at least till Kris Dunn is better. They wouldn’t be done if someone gets injured but they would take a couple games to readjust

Anybody advocating for the Jazz to trade Laurie should watch Bobby Marks' trade video for the Jazz on ESPN.
Yup.

So you are saying you haven’t been watching the Jazz and seeing Lauri’s growth and development from last season to this season.

Crappy analysis imo

the jazz is a literal team. it only takes one player injured for them to crumble..
