ALBN1 Indoor Laps
Kind of old footage. Pins gave out again. Noticed it ran through the entire pack with both backed out half way. Impressive but not. Made some grooves in the C-Hubs. Haven't run this rig in weeks.

wow . Its crazy Awesome. The slow crawl and it is like a spider. :)
Brushless in micro is something else. Just add a little weight and it sticks to everything!
Great video. I really enjoyed that 😃✨👍
Thank you, fun little rig!🖖😎
What tie rods and what diff?
Could you tag the link to the setup? I would love to buy thanks
Axles, tie rod, ends: a.co/d/9RX8khD -- I custom bent my tie rod & drag link. Links, Shocks, Shock Towers: a.co/d/2QH9YbS Wheels and tires are from one of these RGT 16061: tinyurl.com/423cd6py -- you'll never find them anywhere else. They were ONLY available on this truck. Motor & gearbox: a.co/d/hUsoFOu -- slow in single speed - there are multiple options out there. Search around on your own and find one that fits the C54/C24 chassis. Electronics are 60A ESC on FlySky GT3 and 3 channel radio
Alguien que tenga este coche y me de su opinión ? Estoy pensándolo en comprármelo.
Yes, the one in the video is mine.
Noticeably better than the regular fcx18?
When I got this one is was like $80 worth of upgrade parts for about $20 extra. Plus, it's green! Yes, the big one is the high clearance links but the wheels and tires are way better than expected. You have to install everything yourself but it's worth it when it's done. I've sort of topped mine out with everything but brushless. The two speed is definitely the nicest I've seen for brushed. Nice low speed control with minor gear backlash.
Looks so realistic, I would like to build mine up like this. Would changing just the chassis and shocks get close?
Thank you! Love this truck. There's a leaf spring upgrade kit over at Amazon that I found that also helps a lot. Get that too. The 59mm shocks are key. Frame upgrade, motor. Anything you can do will make this truck run better with every upgrade.
What driveshaft are those?
These: tinyurl.com/bdebneys
@@VermontScaleCustoms in the video you had different ones tho lol
They may have been the older style WPL ones. You don't want them. Too much slop. Get the longer ones I linked to. I run those now and they don't have nearly as much slop. Also used heat shrink tube on them to cut down on vibrations.
@@VermontScaleCustoms yeah I have the same and also used heat shrink, was looking for better alternatives lol
Haha nice! Perfect place to play on without having to travel far
Thanks! Yes, an indoor course has always been a good thing to have set up!
You need to get a 3D printer! lol
I'd personally rather have a nice small precision lathe and an End Mill so I could make skids, chassis and links.
Always showing up with great builds, cheers to you and your channel!
Thanks! Coming up on a couple of years of running this one. Still holds up pretty well, minus the axle shaft issue. Good rig, though.
Where do you guys get these tall skinny wheels and tires
The wheels are double stacked Hard Park Outlaw 1.8" with cut Injora XHX comp pins on them. I think I was running cut foams in this version but switched to full soft foam for better compression.
@VermontScaleCustoms guess I'm gonna hafta to learn how to cut tires now
It's always scary to start but it doesn't take long to get used to what you're getting into. Get the jig from HardPark or ask someone for the 3D print file over at Hard Park's FB page.
Hello, Big Like, thanks for showing!👍 Greetings from Seven🖖
Thank you, Seven! Just trying to get some older video out there.🖖😎
Awesome 👌🏽
I just finally need to get the axle shaft thing ironed out. Tired of those breaking.
how did you get the interior out? I am prying at mine...no luck
I *think* it has to do with the rear bumper. If I'm not mistaken that's the critical piece. Pull that out, then the engine compartment drops out and then the interior should come out. It was over a year and a half ago since I did this build and I can't recall exactly. I didn't document tearing it down at all and I think I vaguely remember running into the same problem. I think the back bumper is the answer.
Beautiful
Thanks, it's a beast!
🤜🤛
😎🖖
Do the shocks work on mn82s ?
They should work for you, yes. The only difference between that truck and this one is the "s" stands for Silver :)
Damn it! I need to stop watching your videos! I need to just pull the trigger otherwise I’m gonna own 4 off the bat. Taking your love of Toyota out of the equation, how does this compare to MN82? Is this a metal chassis along with body? MN82 I’m looking at is the full metal chassis (not sure if body is die cast).
I was really surprised by this release. This became my main rig for a bit last summer. Love the thing. I bought the builder's kit and installed hobbywing electronics and it actually crawls. The suspension leaves a little to be desired but that's nothing shocks can't fix. I've done a series of mod videos for this truck from getting it set up for 7mm to how to shut of the turn signals at the PC board. This was also probably the first video of this truck that I did. Check out some of the other ones. See, the problem with the RC hobby is that that intentionally make so many cool small versions of all the trucks we lust after. They make the crack. We buy the crack. We drive up and down the block looking for scraps when they're sold out. It's a rough way to be!
Hello, Very Nice work from you!👍 Greetings from Seven🖖
Thank you! Maybe you can do this on your Land Rover! Thanks for watching, Seven!🖖😎
Fantastic video Rc brother! One thing I do when I make mine is to use a cheap ink black brush marker to cover the lettering on the heat shrink. Thanks for sharing
Thanks! Pretty spontaneous. I could hit these with matte black after building them or marker but I kind of like the writing. Adds a bit of techie detail to it. Thanks for watching! I do need some of those ink brushes, though, they'd be handy to have around for touch ups on things.
@VermontScaleCustoms yep they work well 👍
This is awesome Buddy :)
Thanks, man! Just a fun little mod that didn't cost a thing!
More antennas the better! Great DYI tutorial! Cheers brother!
Thanks, I appreciate it! Fully agree, love how it looks with two.
Which is better to use 53mm or the 59mm metal oil shocks
I'd go with 59mm just to give larger wheels and tires enough room for articulation.
Thank you. I really love your videos i enjoyed watching them. Specially the under water shot
THANK YOU!
Ok think this vid made my decision (unless you tell me fcx24 or another is way to go for a first one 😂)! My initial thoughts based just on how it looked and your awesome vid helped me.
This truck looks the way it does and runs like it does because it's had some aftermarket stuff put on like new ESC, axles, wheels & tires, big suspension work, etc. It's not going to run like this fresh out of the box. An FMS more likely would. If price pint is a concern that's understandable. An FMS cost versus this would allow you to put some money into add-ons to get this truck to run like this one does.
Do you like your MN82? Yours looks sweet btw. First one I gravitated to (metal chassis) upon my jam session searching. I think I’ve whittled down my choices to that or a FCX24 either K5/Unimog or even smasher. Do you have a suggestion? I’m prob more off-road/trail with some rock capability but who knows maybe I’ll want to do more extreme crawling in the end. Thanks!
Solid question. The answer is yes, I love it. MN did a great job with this model and I'm a Toyota guy through and through so it hit home with me. A far cry better than their MN99 releases from a few years ago. This is a light trail truck that can definitely be modified to crawl. If you were looking for an actual crawler to get into I recommend the FMS 1:18 LC80 Land Cruiser. Not as big as the 1/10 -- drives really well on 2 speed, super well detailed, tons of add-ons, etc. The FCX24 stuff is all good. Cn't go wrong there. New Redcat 1/18 stuff is great, Furitek Cayman brushless rigs, etc. You picked a good time to get into it as trucks have come a long way in the last couple of years. You get a lot for less now from out of the box with RTR.
Appreciate you! Glad I found your channel!
Happy to help out! Feel free to ask questions anytime.
You seem to own a lot of the models I’ve been checking out today. I haven’t gotten any RC for like 35 years yikes but was thinking a crawler. This one seems great. Is it the axial scx24? I’m sorry I’m like crash coursing myself today. Cool vid btw!
WT Micro FJ45 body (Etsy) and a fully custom build based upon the Injora/OGRC 8 degree skid comp chassis. Technically in the SCX24 realm but there isn't an Axial part on it. Super capable truck with a custom wheelbase. It used to be short but I stretched it out a little and now it just tackles just about everything within reason.
How big are the rear springs are they 53mm or 59mm?
All 4 shocks are 59mm to keep things level. You wouldn't want to run short springs on the rear, it would sag in the back end.
@@VermontScaleCustomsand what oil are you running in them?
Just 10W30. I don't get too crazy about oil in shocks.
@@VermontScaleCustoms is that equivalent to 10wt or 20wt oil?
I don't know about actual shock oil weights but yes, 10W is 10wt motor oil.
Killer spare parts build!! UTB18 is 9” wheelbase..
Yep, all I have to do is shorted the rear by .25 and it'll clear tech. Tht said, I'm also not looking to compete at the moment. I've got maybe $55 into this build on a crawler I a\spent $115 for on eBay a few years back!
H3ll yeah! Love this truck, glad to know you found the way to bring her back! Now you own a small torch, so now it's time to learn brazing! As you do leave in America, I can't suggest you enough more both a&m garage front shackle reverse combined with s1 long leaf from twistedfabco. You will still maintain the articulation but that rear will come straight. His leafs are really dope and there are options depending on your budget. I think he is making one for the long wheelbase too.. That license plate! Of course we do remember that!
I've been looking into A&M garage mods. As per another suggestion, those must be the same leafs that have three holes that allow you to shift the axle position. It seems others have had this problem before, too. I've thought about just re-drilling a hole to move them forward. But, yes, very pleased to have this truck back up and running. It's such a sweet looking body and it's such a beast. I threw a Quicrun 540 brushless combos in and it's amazing.
@VermontScaleCustoms twisted leafs are custom, and what I mean by custom, they are not made from other leafs but they are made from scratch. He has a different set up for different chassis, and different leafs set ups for different flex possibilities. You can see his exact work on social media, I can send you the link if you like.
Hello, I really liked it again, very nice Video!👍 Greetings from Seven🖖
Fun little project and I'm glad it actually works. Thanks for watching, Seven!🖖😎
Great build.....and the knock at the beginning 😂
Thank you, psyched on how this turned out. Score one for the laughs! Thanks for tuning in!
Good rc car
Facts, right there!🖖😎
putting a 70mm shocks will lift it more?
You can check but I don't know for sure! Considering how much flex is in the leaf springs, 70mm might stretch them to a point where they don't have any down travel left.

What a beautiful truck! I’ve always wanted a lc79, they’re magnificent. The scale is amazing 👍
Yeha, when I saw this I was all in from the start. It's not a cheap kit to build, either so it was cool getting such a good deal on it!🖖😎
Freaking Awsome scale run dude!!! Really like that body!
Can you imagine looking at this on the shelf for two years wondering how I was ever going to get it running again?
😂😂sadly all too well lol!!!! I got some sitters hard to work on them All!!!! Tend to focus on one then it sits and work on and drive another…..if I have 3-4 good running rigs in doing well lol!
Yes the voice- Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you, too! It seems l do like to ramble on, don't I, lol?
Hello, I liked your video again!👍 Greetings from Seven🖖
Thank you as always! Hope you are doing well, Seven!🖖😎
Awesome video, love the slow crawl, beautiful truck!
Thanks, yeah I never should have let this one sit broken as long as I did. Glad to have it back up and running.
Awesome little truck great video❗😊👍
Thank you and thanks for watching!🖖😎
@@VermontScaleCustoms 😊
Such a cool truck. Are the rear leafs the 3 hole? if so you could shift the axle forward a hole. Otherwise somebody makes a shorter leaf that you could install to center up that rear axle. I have no experience with this setup. I have always flipped the rear shackle mount or got the ones from Bowhouse. The front relocation is almost a must as the stock shackle contacts the body and limits travel. Take care.
That's a good idea. Gives me an option to maybe redrill and just move it. The Teraflex stuff adds massive amounts of flex but it really messes with the wheelbase. I'd like to do the skid plate mod to this too but the interior requires a fair bit of space plus this has a two speed so I need room for the shift servo.
@ yeah, it’s an awesome rig and you got a smokin deal.
Awesome Stuff Buddy. Looks Good. Cool you got it fixed. I Like that body. Great RUn :)
Thanks, man! Yeah, super psyched i got this back up and running.
Did you have any issues with the mn metal axles and the wheels spinning loose when running? I just tossed some Injora wheels on MN metal upgrade axles and the screw rotates in the same direction as the wheels so they have spun off in some test rides. Tossing some blue locktight to see if that helps nut wondering if you ran into something similar since you have a similar setup.
The WPL/MN axle screw thing has been a thing for as long as I've been into the hobby. Spot on, it's the amount of contact and torque rotating against the tension that holds it. Silly idea but easy to deal with. A dab of Loctite on the end before threadingin should do the trick, just don't use too much or you'll strip screw heads getting them back out.
@ cool. And yeah. Seems silly. Ordered some metal 5mm to 7mm hex adaptors. Feel like they should do better than the 3D printed ones that are just spinning. 😞 Like, i get having various part styles but after a point it’s just makes sense to go universal on certain part/accessory sizes
I've always been surprised at how well 5mm hex actually held for the size wheel it was turning. Despite the screw issues, I've never had one strip out on me. Even the plastic wheels. Yeah, the MN111 came with 9mm hex. Pick a size and stick with it, everyone. It seems that 7mm is the universally accepted choice for all things 1/18 and smaller. No need to complicate it like they do.
Sweet build
Thank you! Solid runner, for sure.
Hello, Very nice, have a nice day! 🍀 Greetings from Seven🖖

@@VermontScaleCustoms Hello, Thank you likewise!🍀Happy New Year!🎉 Greetings Seven🖖
Dude super cool little video! Beautiful build Awsome camera work. Been loving the 1:1 yotas dashing through snow lately Ohhh that’s some sticky mud!! It made it though!!!
Would you believe I've had this truck for almost 4 years? Marketplace score! Over $1200 in truck for $495 + s&h!! It even came with the metal bed. I blew up the front diff driving in snow a couple months after I got it. Took me forever to get the driveshaft pin extracted because the guy used red loctite. It's a beast on a 35T 540 but I just ordered a 1200Kv quicrun SE brushless. Should be here tomorrow.
great rig. I miss my tf2 with lc70 just like this truck. Can't go build another lwb when I already have 3 ..
I got this used off Marketplace almost 4 years ago and blew up the front diff a couple months after getting it. I finally got the front driveshaft pin out a few days and got the helical gears installed. I forgot how much of a beast this thing is.
Great video, just one question, what kind of oil did you use and could I have a link?
I keep 10W30 in an oral syringe on my desk. I use it for every thing. Oil overthinkers make life hard. I usually adjust with spring rate and want the shocks to flow easily and smoothly. Any heavier and it's limiting speed of travel.
I like the yellow shocks like Bilstien, its all a white wash here nice to see the ground.
Those are some fancy licensed Old Man Emus. Basically the exact same thing as the ones up front just painted and with Emu's logo graphics on them. They're Bilsteins up front. Just ordered a brushless 540 for it. Should be here in a few days.
