Thank you. You should try and get your hands on some x15 nylon. I stopped over at your page a few days ago and saw that it had been a couple months since your last vid. What's been up lately?
@@VermontScaleCustoms I’ve been very busy lately, but hope to make some videos soon as the weather is great. Not up to date on all the new products. What’s x15 nylon?
I figured, most people do have lives to lead outside of RUclips -- I forget this sometimes! Mofo RC X15 axles. The have aluminum housings as well but the nylon are f'n sweet. probably the best straight axles out that I've seen.
@@VermontScaleCustoms Well, I was able to break away from the addiction.. for a while.. 😁 Yes, I’ve seen videos on the X15s, when they were released. They look strong. Are they clockable?
They have 3 at my Local shop. Black C10, Black Gladiator, Green Forest wagon.... I am so stoked. He said they will get more by the first. Super Excited.
@@VermontScaleCustoms YEah the black one looks Great. :) I like the jeep look. And sense i have a truck, Jeep would look good in the fleet.2 rigs a fleet ? Hahahaha
The link idea was key. Monobret out of France brought this to the table over at Facebook about 6 months ago. The comp folks over there typically seem to know everything about everything, the poor guy got laughed at and ridiculed for sharing his build idea. I wanted to order one but they're like a grand and coming from France! Only 10 made. So I decided to harvest his link idea and make my own. It works flawlessly. F the haters and the know-it-alls.
IT's been so hot here. I walked to my spot and had the old lady pick me up. Head rush when i stood up and almost blacked out. reminded me when i was younger an took nitro baloon. I was so dum
Oh yes, the carrier bearing.. I've looked elsewhere, and it seems PD is the only place selling one of these, but they're sold out. Damn. I need a carrier bearing assembly, and i want to cut down on fab-time. I'm ridiculously slow at fabrication! Lol
I guess he has immediate access to CF cutting and material. It's probably the flanged bearings holding things up. I think Hard Park is now doing a rig with one but they aren't selling the kits by themselves afaik. I'm pretty sure there must be some sort of 3D stl file floating around out there that works. I think the usage of the carrier bearing came from tandem rear axle setups and someone realizing you could snake driveshafts through chassis and still have it function. The big challenge is getting the rear driveshaft length right and setting the rear limit so it doesn't disconnect at full flex. The front two were easy. Just takes a few assemblies and taking it apart multiple times to check the custom fitting. I nailed the link bends right off but had to shorten the axle side of the tube by about 20 mm. I knew that was going to be the case. I really need to do a video that focuses on bending tubing. I'm an electrician. So much of my work is dependent upon running EMT conduit in the strangest, tightest, most no-room-to-work spaces. There's science and then there's experience and that's hard to convey in a short video. I know a lot of that can be helpful for those who have never seen the process.
@@VermontScaleCustoms a video would be great! Yeah the "flanged bearings".. i could not see from the pics that is what is used.. I can make one of these i think, not too hard. Carbon fiber would be easy, but titanium is a pita. My build is mostly titanium (links, chassis, motor mount and other), so maybe I'll just use some titanium sheet that i have, and a stock trans axle shaft, with a couple polystyrene pieces. Wham bammm, easy peasy. But i think i need to find the best way to cut titanium. Last time i used a cutting wheel on a dremmel, and it was quite a pita. Thank you for that bit of info. Thats the kind of thing i usually miss.
What is the princess leia magnet mod, i couldn't see what that was on the video. Also, do you have a pin tire cutting video? Also, are those 1.3 carbon Indora ModuWheels? I was considering getting some of those for my HardPark axles, and turning them around to reduce scrub. But unfortunately 70mm is the smallest tire for those, and i want 62mm. I don't like small tires, but 70mm is too big for this rig im building. This rig will be very low CG, and I'm playing with the width. I bought some HP titanium gladiator high clearance links, will use the lower links, but will likely have to make my own upper links with the chassis I'm using (new Mazz V3 titanium cheat code). I like titanium! We will see if all of my plans fit together. I'll be tinkering with a possible carrier bearing in there. Your ULTRA high clearance links here are quite intrigueing. I've made links with steel and glue before, gotta rough up the tips as i had one pull out. I'll try that glue you suggested. I'm going to be making my own cantilever suspension assembly, not sure if I'll use it on this one though. It will be titanium, of course, and I'll try to fix the design flaw that i saw in the HardGoblin cantilever system. Still not entirely sure of the final build purpose on this one, was thinking of even making it a tow-rig with gooseneck hitch, with chopped up/small flat bed, and cantilever with double shocks on each side.. not necessary... some things are just cool. 😊 Oh, and the X15... i bought some cheap overdrive diff gears, but they seem the bind up or catch a bit, is this usual with those aliexpress diff gears? Can i file them a bit, or just toss those and buy name brand?
Mojo offers a printed chassis with a carrier bearing setup. You need to take that connecting part and bearing from a SCX24. I have not received mine yet.
I learned from watching MATT off road recovery, ( Don't judge) That almost a slick of a tire gets better traction on the rocks then anything. I bet you find some Street tires it might be crazy, Good. Like my little brother talking smack about John madden NFL game..... So i beat him only using Punt return Defense. LOL
I'm a huge fan of Trail Mater, myself. I used to watch a little bit of Matt's Offroad but I have so many channels to keep up with that I just try and focus on Rory and the boys. FABN801 is sick, too. Peck Brothers aren't half bad if you can put up with their antics. Tons of good 'Yota wheeling channels out there, too.
Yes and no for me on my rigs. Always find it weird that guys run double barrels and then limit travel. Even limiting a 39 does weird stuff to them. That said, I just started limiting a set of double barrels on my diecast Gladiator and it made all the difference in how it climbs. These rigs I wouldn't limit but something like my LGRP Comp 24/X-Factor, yes. Front, mainly. The rear still needs to be able to float.
@@VermontScaleCustoms Function or not i don't like the look of rubber bands on my RC.... Bad enough the WPL has popsicle sticks holding it together LOL ahahahahah

Hello,
Very nice crawler, thumbs up from me!👍

Thank you! I think I've finally graduated to another level of this hobby. Hope all is well,🖖😎
An amazing build! You've really hit it out of the park!
Thank you! I'm just really psyched that it works. Seems to be holding up.
LMAO, give it throttle an let it go on it's own WOW. This thing is amazing.
Still got some dialing in to do with weight now.

I'd say the Gladiator. They nailed the look on that one. Depending on what your tastes are.

Just me and @bcochener talking about a couple things. Check out his channel, too. He does some great 24 scale stuff.
such a beast!
Highly inspired by all the things I've learned up to this point. 🤜🤛
Nice work dude!
Love taking any RC and just do it!
I really want a fs rig
Great bending on those links!
