I know I'm in the vast minority, but I like slag as a mechanic! I don't agree with all of your early points necessarily, but what I do agree with is pretty much all of your solutions. At the end of the day, Borderlands is part RPG, and a popular mechanic in RPGs is buffs and debuffs. And I think slag is a pretty good attempt at creating weapons that are focused around utility in some cases. But I agree that there should be more slag weapons that offer additional utility, and I think slag's duration and chances both need buffed in most cases. However, I don't necessarily think that slag weapons should do more damage to slagged enemies. This is actually my problem with Cryo. At a certain point, the optimal play just becomes using solely a cryo weapon to kill everything because-- well, it does everything in one weapon slot. It CC's enemies, it increases damage against them, and it can take advantage of that full damage so... why ever switch off? Sure, you can if you want, but there's really no reason to in any case where Cryo can be used against whatever you're fighting. Part of the cool part about slag is that it's a utility element, and basically enables the rest of your guns. The heavy weapon swap adds another layer of skill. In my opinion these are the solutions I can think up on the spot: 1) Every character should inherently have swap speed integrated into some of their skills. Some VHs have great swap speed, some don't. But there's really no reason every VH can't have it. I kind of feel the same way about weapon handling, and movement speed. These are all utility that make any character feel better to play, and it doesn't overtly break any of the vault hunters by giving it to them. 2) Increase the de-buff duration, and the slag chance. You brought all of these up and I agree. 3) Take slag off of weapons that are clearly made to deal damage. Slag is clearly meant to be purely used for utility, this is why they have decreased slag weapon damage vs slagged enemies (when compared to any other gun type). It's to avoid that exact issue I brought up with Cryo. So why have it roll on weapons like the striker that are clearly not utility weapons? Keep it to weapons like Grog, Orc, Slagga, etc. This helps clean up the lootpool for those items for farming. Finally, 4) Add more utility weapons / unique slag weapons. The Orc, Slagga, and Grog are all great examples. But there should be more. Maybe a weapon that increases your firerate when you slag an enemy, and another that increases your movement speed. You could have one that spreads the slag to someone else when they die (which could help for melee Krieg builds, like you mentioned). There are a bunch of ways to buff a character and debuff an enemy, and you could integrate those into slag weapons to add more variety. I will say that I also think that if slag is meant purely for utility the way they seemed to have wanted it to be, it should probably be limited to unique weapons that are meant to be utility items, or the chance of it should be lower than other elements. Again, because it clutters up the lootpool for your damage weapons needlessly.

I came back to BL3 after while of not playing, and tried to get back into endgame, and mayhem levels feel bad. I sped run to 11 as fast as I could cause the clutter was too much. I feel like a lot of your criticism is very valid compared to the general “BL3 bad” sentiment that occupies most all discussion. Annoints especially, getting to mayhem 11 on a new character I had a mayhem 2 monarch with the right annoying that carried my farm all the way will I was geared up to 10.

I really enjoyed your video, it was fascinating and like you i just hope this Borderlands game will be good and the idea of it following up on the ending of the pre sequel would be fantastic

And I learned from Joltzdude that you can actually get above Crawmerax's arena without grenades or Craw himself if you go to the right side of the wall from the elevator and run up the slope. You can pass through the coral rocks

Honestly the only things I'd do to slag is : 1. As you said let slag weapon do damage, maybe not the full X3 but a 2.5x would be fine 2. Let raid boss be slagged for a normal amount of time, not just 1 sec 3. While slagged make it so the named boss have a 30% chance to drop legendary instead of 10% but only in op levels

I went in there expecting to find a hidden claptrap as I'd seen pre-launch footage of devs talking about putting one in that cave at the back of the magma falls. And then Iwajira bursts out of the lava, being 25 levels above me. Took me completely by surprise.

I say it's a parallel universe and she just found its version of promethea and it's Reese has become a dictator like figure like Handsome Jack if he went unchecked by vault hunters. This version of Reese has become the CEO of all the corporations and uses all of thier resources as a conqueror would all bc this Reese never got rid of the Jack AI. (This is just a pie in the sky theory, "a game theory" mostly for the lols...)

I can almost confirm that BL4 will have MASKS as a gear to wear. They will have different perks and, not only the appearance change. Maybe you should look into that in your next video

If it's true they were working on bl4 before bl3 , then the war being the main focus is most likely the case because what was before bl3 ? The pre sequel, it's make sense because they were probably already brewing the story for bl4

They should bring back the old vault Hunters the same as they were but so they fit the game i believe that this would be sick and i think the majority won’t be mad about this especially if you have like 16 characters

i felt zero hype for this sadly bl4 would need to be everything that the fans where asking for EVERYTHING and cant come with the flaws in other words if this game isnt at least a 9 out of 10 well and stuff like dedicated drops or other stuff not being there would insta kill the game

So far every Borderlands game (not counting tales or Wonderlands as they are unique situations, Tales being released in pieces and Wonderlands a spin off) has released September or October iirc. So this one'll probably be the same. My guess is October since they weirdly seem to alternate months. Granted, it's very little to go off of but there IS a pattern so far. Almost certainly unintentional but still.
