I just had my first return and of course the buyer said item was not as described even though it was in the title, photos, and description. Within my appeal I noted everything and within two seconds they generated a return for the buyer which makes me think it's 1000% automated if you have no returns accepted. Lessons learned, what a bunch of crooks and the sleezball person from miami that sounded drunk in their message.

But what if the buyer returned as not as described and send 2/3 when it was supposed to be 3/3 items return how do I deduct the missing item cause I don’t see it on my end just the option to report a problem but then wants me to send full refund

Thanks for sharing this. The estate sales that I've come across near me are auction based and the books are sold in lots, sometimes with starting prices $20 or more. Is that usually the case for the sales near you? I'd love to find estate sales where I can cherry pick like you did here.

How do you determine if a book lot is worth selling?

Curious if you have a treatment for books that have the old book smell combined with the rich classic cigarette smoke of someones study from 1950. I've found big boxes of pulp like this, but the smoke smell was strong. Any tips?

Thank you, good explanation. In the UK, not all post offices will print these labels for you. I tried this once and I ended up paying for 2 labels as I had to then print my own as the PO said they do not print labels. Yes I know this is behind the times, but that's how some post office centres are! EBay paid me back for dual postage, which was great (I had to wait I think about 10-14 days for this refund). But, I think I just made the same mistake again today! About to go to the post office so we shall see....

Also worth noting books with there slip covers in tact can get 20 - 40 % more. Always go for them.

What is your opinion on mass paperbacks, I tend to avoid them?

Goodwill shopping ask themselves this “ would I buy this at this price “ or “ if I wouldn’t purchase it would anyone else want to?” Try putting more on the shelves and less items online,you got the stuff for absolutely nothing and with an actual business if tiu don’t price to move you lose sales and don’t retain customers

Shipping costs always scare me from bundling, it's just so expensive, and competing with the big boys with free shipping on eBay is hard.

Is your profit the sale price - cost - fees - packaging cost? What packaging do you use for your single book sales, box or padded envelope?

If you want a good laugh and totally inaccurate description of your listing just use ebay's ai tool. Never has there been a more ridiculous example of so called progress. Just have a read of some of the listings the next time your on ebay. Its like wtf its as if the ai is treating the reader like a child or reading a poem. It definitely puts potential buyers off, especially when there is no obvious input from the seller and accurate real world description. After you've been subjected to an ai "description" your none the wiser to the items condition or any actual truthful issues or faults it might have. Basically it's a tool for the seller to hide behind incase of any issues after the sale. Highly un recommended.

Stock photos, so impersonal. I like to buy things from people who put in the efforts and deserve it. Even if it's $1 more, support a small business.

I have a question, and I hope you can help. I just downloaded the FBA Scanner and was scanning books that belonged to my mom. The book has several prices on Amazon. 17.00 new, 10.00 good and 3.00 used. Which price am i supposed to be looking at? I also found it on eBay for 6.00 sold. I have a book sale I'm going to tomorrow and I'm hoping to find something sellable. Thanks for any help. Tara

3:30 Memphis has the BEST BBQ EVER! I haven't been there in the longest, but when I go, I get BBQ. There was a little place coming out of Memphis going back towards Florence on the right. This was years ago so it's probably no longer there. It was a tiny little place, but the BBQ....to die for.

I get burnout quite often. Usually when I go a while without a sale. Or if there are some bills that desperately need paying and I can't sell anything to save my life. I love book sourcing even though I have THOUSANDS of books in my death pile. My bread and butter sales are about $7.99 which doesn't add up to much. I sold a $30 book a couple days ago, so that helped me get perked up a bit. Cookbooks are my bread and butter, but I make more money on college yearbooks. There are so many genres of books that are fun to work with and books are my passion. I'm going through a burnout right now, but hoping it will go away soon. I think a little excursion to Belgium would help me tremendously. LOL I actually would like to go to The Dismals in Phil Campbell, but I'm just grateful that I can afford to just stay home. But burnouts are usual, but they are temporary, thankfully. Hang in there!
