Very insightful talk, thank you. I wonder if there’s a better name than “magic mushrooms”? It’s like “weed”, popular jargon but maybe doesn’t confer the full respect. Los nińos, or children to me doesn’t capture the extend either. In my experience, I saw these beings as wise elders who showed me great wisdom. “Psilocybe” is an option but not all psychedelic mushrooms are from this genus and the name is strictly scientific.

Hi Kat. I have seen a few Ayahuasca ceremonies. I agree with you that so much is about the facilitator. Any problem I have heard of goes back to the facilitator. And people seem to be very willing to put their trust someone who does not have the proper training or bad intentions. It is to bad there is not a system to train and certify people. Of course, if you did that the pharmaceutical companies might strike back. Can't have happy healthy people, their profit margins would suffer.

Would you recommend doing shadow work as mandatory preparation before sitting with plant medicine? So we can recognize our own human shadows. You also say that it can be part of the plant’s shadow to make us think that we are shamans too- can it also be true that some are actually being called to the shamanic path and receive their calling during a plant medicine ceremony?

You just described my very first ceremony. Unfortunately, well I believe the medicine sever didn’t intentionally do harm, he had not been properly trained/apprenticed to handle my big big experience that was incredibly triggering for him. The shaming during the incident was light, but as the night went on and I was stuck in that loop, the schism, the shaming got worse and worse. All my attempts to self-soothe didn't work during that (probably 5 or so hours) because the facilitator himself actually created a dangerous mental space. I honestly think this happened because 1. I went on a feeling of good energy from this person & that they were a friend of a friend vs actually learning and vetting my medicine server. 2. I think my experience was a message from the medicine to the server. Unfortunately it was one he wasn't willing or able to see nor accept. I tried to work though this in the spirit of the medicine but was not met in that spirit/space. I really appreciate everything you and the entire PMP team share. It's really helped me work through my experience and to be really cautious in who I sit with, who I refer to and how I will serve others. What a learning experience 😅🙏

I think my trigger is the same, masculine energy that feels entitled and lacks respect for the feminine and the sacred plant medicines. I don't work with men who are like this in any fashion, so I certainly wouldn't attempt to do so under any kind of altering medicines. Shikes. Thank you for sharing this. Grateful 🙏

All of us, shamanic, facilitators and guides to have certain types of people that trigger us. Because safety involves a lack of judgment or criticism, it's important for all of us to be aware of the types of people that push us into negativity and judgment, as we cannot, sincerely hold space for someone, we feel this way about. The people that I have the biggest challenge with our certain type of toxic, masculine energy super disrespectful to the space demanding of more and more medicine and full of entitlement. I'm working on healing these triggers, but for now I'm not equipped to pour medicine for these people. What are your triggers?

I would like to get more information on master plants retreats I've have done ayahuasca live 4 times of done Satori Samati kambo hape bufo and I have a calling to under go the master plants. I have a calling to become a a shaman or to live the shaman way I have shaman Ancestral Lineage blood in me which we all do but not alot of us know that we have. It damages the brain. Why would someone want to risk their health? If you haven’t been really sick then you don’t understand how fragile the chronically are. He does have a true connection to spirit. He is for real. I talked to him on the phone my self. Jesus was crucified on the cross. You don’t know Anthony William. It sounds like you are defending your passion to something you invested your life in. I am sorry you are so attached to your plant medicine that you can’t see it can harm people. It damages people’s brains. You’re over exciting the neurons. It works for you because you are not chronically ill. He is trying to protect the people that are fragile physically. You don’t know him. You are just hurt.

Thank GOD for you and the message you bring. I went down a dark avenue watching the Medical Medium video you shared, and feeling completely helpless because he suggests brain damage is inevitable for people who have taken ayahuasca, as I have done many times. I am beginning to follow his protocols and, while some of what he says resonates deeply, much does not, including his wildly misinformed stance on ayahuasca. Ironically, his whole premise is to counter the misinformation out there. A noble cause, perhaps, if he wasn't also adding misinformation himself. I have struggled to determine the information that is coming from Truth, versus that coming from a place of ego, which I believe has increased since his star has risen. A lot of it is fear-inducing, which Spirit would never promote! Thank you so much for being a voice of reason and compassion.

And there are many ways of serving Grandmother 🤭 embracing our authenticity, being honest with ourselves, self-reflection. “To serve the Mother, the Great Mother is to serve ourselves.” I learned that Grandmother works differently and we’re like kids. Some of us remain to help her out in the kindergarden, others we leave the nest and come back from time to time to tell her the stories and rest a little bit with her. It’s about what we do with ourselves after the ceremony. ❤❤❤

I am taking microdose of ayuhuasca brew (not the caapi vine but the real mix), as 1 teaspoon per week. I wonder if you see it have any effect? or what will be true dose of microdosing it?

I bought the best cacao a month back from Guatemala and I was taking half the amount they even told me to take and damn I was sick like I’m going to die and my heart rate was so fast to an extend I could not talk . I took the least amount and now it sits in my prayer alter and I use it for fire sacrifice in the morning. . I felt like cacao passed me to Mama Ayahusca.and I feel the calling to do a dieta with Bobinsana. I am going to do it for a week at home .I don’t know why but I feel like there is some dark ancestral energy in me which keeps rejecting everything I do. I don’t do drugs nor on any meds . I eat one meal a day and meditate everyday for few yrs now .with all this discipline i feel stuck .

Plant medicine should not be legalized as it would take away the ability to connect freely to one’s own personal journey. Meaning trusting oneself to experience what ever the medicine needs to reveal to us in order to transform and heal. Legalization removes the sacredness around the intangible, monetizing and destroying the nature of ancestral medicine, and the human essence. 🙏🏻 Decriminalizing and educating people around shamanic spiritual practices would be a better approach in protecting ancestral traditions, culture and the millennial identity of indigenous communities. I would encourage a broader conversation to be made around the casual use of these medicines. How can we bridge the gap between ancient medicine practices and the modern world.
