You know I've watched a lot of videos of them emptying the pits and you seemed like to have the most amount of sand in your pit why don't you use the drainage style sand deposit pit where the sand is deposited and is allowed to drain through deposit piles one after another and then when the sand gets too high they remove the pile and let it dry and then they reuse it again seems like it would save you a lot of work over the time

What are you folks doing with the sand after it’s pulled from the pit? You could use that sand to help your property retain and soak up more water.

If they would allow all of their animals to free range , they wouldn’t have to do this and save a ton of money 💰 & time .

We never had robot milkers. You still end up with a lifestyle that I walked away from 40 years ago. I miss it sometimes but in the 80s it was impossible to make a living.

The retired dairy farmer I used to work for sold out and farmed beef cattle and hay fields. He had 2 pits and had a mixer and spreaders at the farm still. He said when he was still milking, they emptied them all in the early spring and fall on their corn and hay fields and pastures not being used..

Watching your videos I can smell the farm that I grew up on and, it smells like home . I miss the mooo of the caves and the smell of silage… mixed with all the other diary farm smells . your videos are always amazing Thanks

How much sand have you got built up inside that pumper tank I've seen them half full and had to dig them out one we ended up cutting a hole in it and plating it back up just sayin 😊

Seen folks using a snow pusher. Move more like a dozer once the area around the hoe is clear.
