      I would say so, tried both injections and pill form and injection works a lot better IMO. I wouldn’t say its an end all be all but works quite well and I have noticed a difference. Which magnesium form do you take? I take quite a few forms including Glycinate (prior to bed) L-Threonate (during the day). Personally have not tried regular usage of ginkgo, do you notice it?

      Yes to both of those. During the initial, that is one of the items I had to do which was listing out the full list of everything I am taking (whether it is over the counter, prescription or it is ‘extracurriculars’) so they can make sure advising is done properly. Then following blood work, dosages were either adjusted, suggested stopping (IE I was told not to supplement in some vitamins and minerals as my diet contained plenty or my bloodwork was showing high levels), or new supplements were added.

      @@picatog Thanks for the reply. Did you do an initial consult before beginning? If so, did you continue to meet with a coach afterwards? If so, how many times or is it ongoing?

    • @picatog
      @picatog 13 дней назад

      I did an initial consult, blood work, 2 reviews of that (1 with health coach, 1 with Doctor, then reviewed suggested treatment and then discussed treatment with coaching). Since then had a 1 month, 3 month, 6 month meeting with my coach, switched coaches. Then with my new coach we’ve met 4-6 times I believe, to discuss another panel of bloods, effectivity of treatment, path forward after it/items to monitor and improve and training. It’s a rather ongoing thing if you choose to make it so. I would recommend making it a continuous improvement effort to keep health optimal all the time. In my experience too the health Coaches are regularly accessible by email for questions that come up/can meet.

    • @picatog
      @picatog 19 дней назад

      Short answer: Yes, something did. I went from total test at 294 ng/dL when starting with Marek (LOW) to 645ng/dL (last round of blood work, which is OPTIMAL reference range but could be higher. Longer Answer: Do we know what it was fully? Not really but Zinc, Boron, D3, magnesium, selenium and iron are all important for maintaining and providing sustained deployment of test. Like multiple items consumed and supplemented with were a role player in raising levels, not just a singular supplement. With that being said, the supplement stack has somewhat been modified, and will release soon.

    Small suggestion when doing car experience or review feedback. ALWAYS start with what model you have and specs. Is it petrol, diesel, hybrid ect. What are the engine specs or exact model, B5 ect. Or if you want to be lazy put that info into video description. So many make mistakes and start giving feedback but no mention of trim level ect.

    • @picatog
      @picatog 23 дня назад

      Hey thanks for the initial feedback and any more to give? Thought the intro through 0:12 would have covered it decently with mentioning it is a 2019 (MY) T6 (Engine/Spec) R-Design (Package/Trim Level) but I could see more in-depth on engine specs IE 2.0 (although all are 2 liters) but explaining T6 is a supercharged and turboed engine could be mentioned earlier. Will look to update the Description later to discuss it better but I agree it could be better presented maybe. Let me know what else you got.

    Great review... just got a 2022 cpo xc60... Don't buy the family sedan branding... I've driven a lot of other cars including ze Germans... This competes with and in many ways beats out it's competitors. I see it as Jack of all trades master of none but a fab vehicle overall... Sorry to hear about your tranny issues! That's a crazy story with the insurer

    • @picatog
      @picatog 23 дня назад

      A 2022 CPO is definitely the way to go, if I could go back now (or had a higher budget at the time of purchase/more time to buy) I would go CPO for sure. I definitely appreciate the stiffer ride of the Volvo compared to some other competitors in the segment but still wonder what it would be like if I went with the RDX/X3/X5 instead. There will be a follow-up/10K mile of ownership perspective video dropping soon discussing maintenance, cost to own, and everything though! Can definitely agree that is is a Jack of All Trades, fantastic road tripper, good gas mileage, quality features but not the top dog in any segment (except maybe safety and maybe that’s the only category that matters most once). The transmission issues were definitely an anomaly, dealership was confused on why Aisin transmission died that early but minimal issues called out in Toyota/Lexus/Volvo or anyone that uses the transmission, the insurer is crap though but alteast now it is Volvo warrantied! What XC60 trim/features did you get or like so far?

    Isn’t L carnitine L Tartrate better?

    • @picatog
      @picatog 23 дня назад

      I personally think that it depends on what you mean by better? This video is primarily discussing injectable L-Carnitine, which is a higher bioavailability form of the L-Car compared to any oral consumption method. However, if we flip the script to discuss oral consumption and supplementation of L-Carnitine studies show the when it bound with tartaric acid is a good binder with L-Carnitine that can increase its oral bioavailability (still not as high as other methods of intake) and Tartaric acid is a strong antioxidant which definitely makes it better potentially than standard L-Carnitine, at least strictly in the realm of oral supplementation of it. Personally still feel like IM injections are still better in terms of bioavailability, absorption, less potential side effects, and safer (no TMAO conversion has been observed in studies).

    Hey, as your video is now around one year old I wanted to ask if you are still using your Whoop and what your thoughts are now. Right now I am using a Fitbit and will continue using it, until it breaks. But I am very interested in keeping up to date with health tracking in general

    • @picatog
      @picatog 29 дней назад

      Fantastic question, and I think a follow up video will be in the works soon, but yes I am still using my Whoop 4.0. We’re currently at a 1144 day data streak! It’s been used for a lot of background work as I’ve been working on some videos regarding certain supplementation, and mouth taping (during sleep), optimizing sleep set ups, and how to maximize HRV and other metrics. So having Whoop collect the mass amounts of data it has, gives me a really good baseline and data set to work with, so I can compare a new dataset (30-60 day experiments) and hopefully generate some meaningful results and conclusions. I think Fitbits are fantastic but not sure about the data acquisition or presentation but I think health tracking to any level is great to do! I think if you do every switch to whoop the journal feature is great and can allow for some decisive moves.

    I do all my IM pins in the vastus lateralis and alternate every other day for last 6 mos. Occasional PIP, no scarring, no lumping - any pain I get is transient and subsides within 30min. I use a 27gx 1 1/4" needle with 5mL syringe - and I actually fill the entire syringe which actually holds about 6mL. I stack carnitine+BCAAs+arginine-citrulline+alphaGPC+ALA. I also have been using Actovegin+GAC+glutathione. No TMAO conversion. When I took oral carnitine/choline, my serum TMAO was elevated. I was having slow-drip IVs, but it got a bit too expensive. Maybe do those once every couples months.

    • @picatog
      @picatog 29 дней назад

      Out of personal curiosity, what is the reasoning or what lead you to the full stack you are using now? Always interested in testing out new stuff but haven’t heard much about reasons to pin Arginine/citrulline. I have heard about injected A-GPC, and a few other ones having good effectivity but not too much for those, same with the BCAAs unless it’s an amino PWO complex maybe? I’m beyond curious how your lat can take on 6mL at once, maybe it’s a combination of injection depth, and lat development (I’m #smallLatGang at the moment) but massive props to you if that amount works. How has the stack made you feel? And what’s been your experience developing it with time?

    • @GENERALMGR
      @GENERALMGR 29 дней назад

      @@picatog Additive/synergistic effect via this stack (increased vasodilation, for one). Big believer in parenteral nutrition since the majority of us, myself included, have compromised guts and cannot adequately assimilate AAs from foods w/o consuming massive amounts of protein. Quads are the easiest site and least PIP for an IM injection if you are self-administering. Do so many other compounds it's hard to know the subjective benefits, although I do think Actovegin helps with increased stamina and makes me more motivated to get into the gym. The one that is most noticeable is NAD+. I just started that a few weeks back and you have to go very slow and low dose to start with because it has very profound effects and you feel it right away. That goes for both IM and IV administration. Side note: I'm doing all this at age 64, but look at least a decade younger. In the gym 5 day/week - cardio+weights. Doing all the peptides + enclomiphene to boost natty T levels (for now). Trying to avoid TRT.

      Honestly a few factors, currently rehabbing some injuries and fixing some hormone/blood markers (referenced in Marek Video) so the physique is not where it should be until the blood markers are fine (I’m natural) so full physique update and comparison seemed unnecessary. Reviewing some of my footage (that made the video IE delts/traps etc) was intentional as they’re major androgen receptor areas so with a benefit of L-Carnitine being “increased androgen receptor density” some visual differences were perceivable but that wouldn’t be prevalent everywhere, only it major areas IMO. There will be a video coming up regarding usage and cutting/leaning out and the benefits but it’s still in progress. Sorry about the lack of a full physique in this one though.

      (Long read, sorry) I understand what you mean maybe but also it might be subjective. Coming from an engineering background and field, you want to have robust design that are engineered to look forward for unforeseen circumstances and have a decent factor of safety for the build. Also from a reliability/quality engineering role, preventative maintenance and regular service is a huge factor. Marek is like performing preventative maintenance on your body, you can tackle issues that your bloodwork can identify prior to them reaching the level of being permanent (insulin, blood sugar etc) tackle it before it becomes serious. Also knowing where you are with bloods, you can supplement the right things and run at 100%. Preventative blood work can pay huge dividends but it's also a premium. At least in the US (and a lot of countries) only minimal blood markers are reviewed and used only when needed, so Marek takes extra test beyond what a normal doctor would, so you can tackle it early.

    How had your experience been with the L-Carnitine? Did you like it or experience any negative side effects?

      If you want more detail or more in depth there is a 30 day review of it on my channel a few months back. But the TLDR is my experience with injectable L-carnitine has been great. I have taken a few breaks or slowed down my pace of usage just as my common areas would start to get sore or sensitive (user error injecting the same locations too frequently). Personally, I feel like it helps energy levels a good bit and might have helped with my treatment from Marek (but it’s anecdotal kind of hard to prove fully). Also played around of dosages and have not experienced any negative side effects, I’ve experienced worse from oral L-carnitine (like stomach and gut issues). Worst I’ve had from injecting is like a bad injection where it bubbled or bleed or hit a sensitive spot but nothing major. I have been a fan so far.

    How can i take it orally without having inflammation

    • @picatog
      @picatog 3 месяца назад

      There is no real answer to that, for one it depends on the form you are taking, the dosage, and how your body interacts with it. You could take minimal and be inflamed or you could be blasting it orally and be fine. It's really DYOR and monitor how your body works with it.

      @picatog 3 месяца назад

      Out of curiosity do you have an sources on this? From preliminary research I would lean towards it being inconclusive or ambiguous at best. There are a few pub med studies that support a few different angles of this, some towards lower levels or deficiency of L-carnitine being linked with higher risk of cancer. But to that extend, oral consumption of L-carnitine, as mentioned in the videos being linked with higher levels of TMAO which would be linked to higher risk of cancer, which can be mitigated or lowered with a few methods but I would not recommend this form. Finally there are some studies with injectable L-Car (which should greatly mitigate TMAO as the pathways are different) being linked with reduced risk to cancer, and potentential benefits to those with cancer as activity levels/energy can be higher and muscle is a factor in treatment being easier (subjectively/still being studied). Would love to hear any source you have with this, but would not recommend high oral consumption of this frequently, thus why I inject it under medical prescription.

    • @picatog
      @picatog 4 месяца назад

      I really tried to give this some thought for you, and what I can say is, you can tell it’s an iteration and it could use some polishing in some spots. The biggest change to stand out was the software suite, it switched from Volvo’s Senus to Google based, I think it needs a few updates and it’ll be better. My big issue for my few days with the loaner was software glitches, one was a few hours were all audio died due to a glitch, we’re talking no music, no turn signal noises, no sound in general. Not a bad issue but something to note. In terms of the switch to all of them being hybrids, I liked it. Quiet start up, power seemed fine, no weird quirks when switching off or using both powers. AWD might have been better in the 2024 than mine, but also conditions/tires might not have been apples to apples + I feel better pushing my car alittle more than the dealerships. But in general, if I could sum it up, I would say it’s comfortable and familiar, everything was mostly the same and an easy transition between the two. (The loaner did have pilot assist+adaptive cruise and that was fantastic)

      @@picatogTy for an open and honest reply……so, I’m currently researching vehicles in this class and the 2024 XC60 is on my radar. Unfortunately, the more I look into the Volvo, the more I find that it is plagued with electrical issues (much like you have said) and has been rated as “less then average” in reliability as confirmed by Consumer Reports. To me, the XC60 is a perfect example of what I would require in my next purchase, but the reliability factor definitely will come into play in my decision. This is coming from a lifelong buyer of Toyota vehicles. Anyway, love your format and your free flowing mode that you use in this video. Gl and keep up the great work!

      Completely understand where you are coming from, I was in the same boat and thought primarily about the X3, RDX, XC60, some Jeeps. Primarily grew up with Toyota, Acura and Subaru in the family. Wasnt a fan of the Lexus design or the Toyota tech at the time. Honestly I think the software/electrical issues might be overblown with Volvo. Also Volvo warranty is pretty fantastic and service has been really supportive and helpful so I wouldn’t worry about that portion. It definitely factors in, I would probably buy a new Volvo or lease one (not sure about long term battery but it is a hybrid so not an essential system). I would do alot of A/B testing if possible. Personally CRs reliability rating is skewed IMO as they count software glitches and bugs as negative marks (I believe) which tanks reliability when mechanically everything is good. Software is pretty much every evolving (or can be) but mechanical reliability generally won’t change for a vehicle within generations so I would look at long term reliability for the chassis but note what’s been updated or changed as issues were discovered.

Both were given bad reviews by CR in regard to reliability. Tbh, they were the best vehicles, second to my Toyotas, in reliably even after the CR reviews. Makes me wonder if the CR ratings are biased. I also currently own a FiAT 124 and that also has been extremely reliable to me…….so much for the old “Fix It Again Tony” remark given to that brand. I understand where you are coming from, but talking with Marek and some other decisions guided why that’s being held off for now. For one, it was starting with Marek, and first test that showed lower Test values. Injecting Test or other exogenous hormones would be a lifetime commitment (if its for a long enough time, systems would down regulate, so you would be dependent), I already had a higher RB Cell count, but also getting some metrics in better ranges prior to anything like that. Hoping on TRT off the bat would be somewhat of an extreme reaction though to my blood test results with lower levels, could have been due to a variety of factors that caused it to dip but not a long lasting systemic issue that TRT would fix. It would be like getting a nail in the tire, maybe a patch or plug is needed for the life of the tire to be fine instead of replacing the whole tire. Open to discussing the thought process, or Marek but all of this is currently under their medical provision.

      @picatog 2 месяца назад

      @@gregcatania3940 That would be assumed to be correct. All of the pieces are there where the up-regulated androgen receptor density in theory would allow for better utilization of any TRT or substances you take that require androgen receptors to work. So in theory a lower dose would be better used, however as for if there is any literature behind that, or if it would be a substancial difference to be worth it I think more research would be needed. But I would concur with better bang for buck.

    Iam no doctor (disclaimer), but did some research. My conclusion and personal advise/input below. ALCAR may not be safe; (below 12 points) 1. When you have epilepsy 2. Associated with higher risk of prevalent coronary artery disease 3. Bipolar disease (in people with bipolar disorder). Futhermore 4. Lower blood sugar and higher triglycerides (in people with diabetes). 5. Trouble sleeping (best to take a bit in the morning when you come out of bed). 6. Higher blood pressure. 7. Headaches. 8. When you got clogged veins and have problems with hart arteries. 9. Seizures... 10. Neuropathy. 11. Hypothyroidism. 12. Diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, and vomiting Taking to much- and take to much every day.. gives the higher risks. The less you take the more safe it will be! You could use maybe 100 mg (open a capsule with 500 mg and take out the powder) take a fifth of it now and then on days when you have a lot to do. Don’t exaggerate with 500 mg or even 1000mg daily etc etc! Keep days maybe weeks months that you do not use it. Natural it comes in verry little quantities from, for example red meat. So logic to keep it small. Not to exaggerate. And if possible do not take at all.. is my opinion. When I feel down I normally take a good walk in nature 2x a day. A nice dog can make wonders to. And I make songs to help other people. That gives a lot of energy to! But not every case is the same I know. I don’t want to judge you! I made a song for depressed people. Goes about an accapella group that goes around in the city. And they visit people that are depressed or sick and then they sing this song for them at home or in hospital to build them up. They are still seaking members. And they hope you will join them to sing with them for other people to! I hope my vision will make your day, and that it may carry you, give you hope inpsaration, energy and vision. Check out the song; Cleaning up my room from Martin Mill (Acapella)

Just curious to the rationale. Also if you’re running it daily is there a reason you’re not Varying locations (like delt, glute, lat)? Might help with the reduction PIP so there’s alot more recovery time and less stress per injection site. 2mL is a lot of liquid for muscle to absorb sometimes so varied sites and 2 pins might be better to space out placement. For personals curiousity, which GH peptides have you used (if you want to share)? Also curious to research and find more/ see if you think they were effective. @@picatog Everyone's different, but in my years of pinning different body parts, I find the most tolerable for this particular injection and dose to be in the thighs due to the greater amount of muscle in one location and that it serves to better disperse the solution. I still have lumps from pinning in the glutes from decades back lol. I also suffered from a couple of nasty abscesses in the ventral glutes in which I had to go on antibiotics, so no more glute injections. I never tried delts; it just seems too awkward to get a good angle and there's not enough mass. Perhaps with an insulin needle, but then I'd be more prone to pain and lumping. Deep as opposed to shallow IM insures better absorption IMO. I also inject Alpha GPC choline since I have a PEMT deficiency and have to avoid TMAO (since oral choline also is a TMAO inducer) and I inject 4mL all at once (they come in single use 4mL ampules, not vials, so I have to use it all up at once). Sometimes no pain at all, other times, only slight pain for that one. As to peptides, I stack CJC129/Ipamorelin/Frag and alternate with Tesamorelin/Ipamorelin. My IGF-1 levels doubled so I know they do work. I also use AOD9604, PEG-MGF, Kisspeptin-10, IGF1-LR3 and DES, BPC-157, TB-500, Epitalon, MOTS-C and a few others known as bioregulators. I had the peptides independently analyzed by a 3rd-party lab and the purity was spot on. I monitor my bloodwork every couple months. I've also been experimenting with Enclomiphene citrate for optimizing T levels, but that was before I started on the carnitine. My total T rose from the low 400s to high 700s, but the jury's still out as to potential side effects and whether it will do more than just give me good lab values on paper. I am in lab rat territory as many of us are in the field of age reversal, hormone optimization and biohacking. I started in my 20s. I am now in my 60s.

      Glad that the glute injections did not result in needing to get anything cut or removed. I have recently starting using lat more for injections and feel it works quite well. I would agree that it is tough to get delt sometimes and placement is key. It is worth nothing I am using an insulin pin, so its easier. Seems like gauge wise for the amount of liquid you are using could make that a challenge. Injections of Alpha GPC do seem interesting, I have used the oral versions often with counter measures to avoid TMAO, a 4mL pin seems heavy (at least at current levels of mass for me) In terms of peptides have you found them to be quite beneficial/ what stacks seemed to yield better results for you personally? I’ve researched and heard a lot of good with CJC1295 (w/ DAC due to the low half life) using Ipamorelin to avoid the gaps between injections and some promising items with Tesamorelin. As for the list of other peptides, I am glad I have some more items to research and put into the brain reservoir. I have ran TB-500 and BPC-157 separately and had great recovery results for my body, and I do have a video in the works covering those. Thank you for doing regular bloods, the is undervalued today it seems. When I started this journey under Marek, I was at test levels in the low 200s naturally, and this has been documenting my recovery journey while I am still young in my 20s. Hope in the 40 years of optimization that its greatly improved quality of life. That is the first pass. If those methods fail and you've tried all other natural measures, then going with exogenous HRT is really the only way. That’s a great strategy at using them. I think it’s always good to test “maximum natural potential” where you have a limiting factor be your bodies abilities to produce it. So mixed answer on that one, yes and no it can work. I think I addressed it slightly in the video but with the powder and pills since it’s an oral consumption method, I would look more into “TMAO conversion from L-carnitine orally taken” since it brings in some factors to weigh. It can be mitigated by taking garlic or one of the compounds in it that stop TMAO conversion that’s not present from injection methods. Also I would make sure you check the bioavailability of oral L-Carnitine. Not sure the exact values but I know it’s about 10-40% bioavailability vs max with Injection. Certainly possible but have to consume more/frequently/with other stuff

    • @picatog
      @picatog 5 месяцев назад

      It’s a tough one to judge for oral dosing, if you want to assume max bioavailability then you’d be at about 4g/day, I’d recommend splitting into 1-4 doses so you’re not nuking your gut. In terms of fat reduction I think it works, it is dependent on individual because if you take it and don’t add in stimulus, then net effect is negative. But if you’re taking it and adding in stimulus your body has a reason to oxidize fatty acids (helps promote it atleast) which would aid in the fat reduction maybe not weight loss but composition as that. One benefit that I don’t think gets the respect it deserves is L-Carnitine also works to increase androgen receptor density, which I feel like is a pathway to fat reduction possibly. Increase AR density means your body can use for of the bio available testosterone (test bonds to receptors and then can be used) so if you have your body utilizing more testosterone (even naturally in this case) it can case more energy and muscle building benefits, more muscle means a higher BMR so you can theoretically burn more calories with other factors being constant. Also personally I haven’t had issues with the odor issues, it does appear to be tied with Gut Microbiome, body adapting and some other factors, and can be overcome but it’s individual independent IMO/situational

    • @picatog
      @picatog 5 месяцев назад

      Don’t want to sell you either way, I think an experimentation on it would be good if you have the means for the potential upsides of AR density, and fatty acid oxidation. If you don’t have the funds or don’t want to add to routine it’s not needed.

    Is 1/2 needle sufficient or do u need a 1 inch?

    • @picatog
      @picatog 5 месяцев назад

      I would say 1/2 inch is enough, that’s what I use. Depending on injection location, body composition, etc it dictates how deep you’d have to inject to get an IM inject that you’d need for L-Carn. With that being said, if you have a half inch and it’s short you can bury the pin and still hit muscle. (Easier to control depth)

      Does that mean 1/2 inch is sufficient and don't do the 1 inch?

    • @picatog
      @picatog 5 месяцев назад

      Yeah I would say so, don’t know many people that would use a 1 inch. Even MPMD has recommended 1/2 inch

    So I watched your first video and very curious. I’m planning to spend the $450 and see how it goes. Because my local doctors aren’t really helping. I’ve got 3 PCP in the same facility and none agree on certain treatments

    • @picatog
      @picatog 6 месяцев назад

      That sounds absolutely fantastic, and I hope they can do whatever it takes to help you and get that next step that you’d need. If you go with Marek, I currently have Jacob F. As my guide and he’s been fantastic. It’s tough with local PCPs since they’re more general vs Marek being focused on that, so hopefully they can get it down. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

    Did they make you submit pictures of your physique or how do they measure progress with body comp?

    • @picatog
      @picatog 6 месяцев назад

      Funny you would say that, it’s recommended but not required. It’s on one of the first pages of their documentation, but it’s not necessary. It’s also dependent on your goals, if you’re seeking to improve comp or physique might be, but my current goals with Marek were to improve general health/quality of life.

    • @picatog
      @picatog 6 месяцев назад

      That’s absolutely a miss on my part, it’s explained in the treatment plan which is tailored to you and your goals. Should have clarified what was meant by “documentation” but it’s a document Marek sends to you during the process after bloods and discussing the results with staff.
