Interviewing my Ukrainian classmate about the INTEGRATION COURSE in Germany! 🇩🇪
Hallo! It's Chigira in Germany!
The other day, I interviewed several of my classmates about the integration course and also about why they came to Germany! I interviewed 6 people in total from Ukraine, Tunisia, Iraq, China and Afghanistan. This video is the first video from the interview recording, which is an interview with this gentle Ukrainian lady!! As I always say, her experience and the opinion in this video are based on her own experience! So keep in mind that your experience in the integration course and the language schools could be different. If you’re interested in how the class of the integration course looks like, you can check my previous video♡

Definitely happens to me too, even with languages I’m fluent in, I don’t always notice. A lot of the time, I also couldn’t say which language something I read or heard was in.
I speak Finnish, English and Dutch fluently, and I am also at B2 in German. And at this point my brain is just a collection of swear words and gibberish. :D The worst is when you can think of the word in one language, and its the only language that no one else speaks.
Haha, I am so fluent in English nowadays, I often don't notice if something is English or German (my native tongue). My brain just switches automatically - if I see it or hear it! Its very confusing when I send stuff to friends who don't speak (much) English xD
wholesome video
Ive taken 3 years of german and 2 of japanese, and I sometimes think of japanese words when I'm trying to say something in german and vice versa
I have some japanese friends in Germany and I can only tell you that it will happen again and again. Rascism is a thing and especially children will pull faces or make noises. There really is nothing you can do about it except prepare yourself for the next time. These kind of people are usually dumbfounded when you explain in german that you are not Chinese.
I'll prepare for the next time! But I hope it won't come any more 🥲
I have that problem with Japanese and Estonian. I started learning Japanese in 9th grade High School and went abroad to Estonia in 11th grade (=高校二年生). So I learned to speak Estonian fluently and when I came back home I had to learn one year of Japanese in one summer in order to continue to 12th grade. I later studied Japanese, lived in Sapporo for a year and did my masters degree in Japanese Studies. To this day, I can’t keep those two languages seperate, because they are the ones I‘m most fluent in and both feel a bit like „my other home“. So whenever I get too comfortable I start mixing the languages 😅. Also, they both follow a similar pattern of how words are constructed (like avoiding consonant clusters).
Did that with Chinese and Japanese. Super common, lmao.
😂
When speaking multiple languages there will always come a time when you forget a word while talking to someone and try all the others to figure out if they know _any_ of them. Everything just blurs into one big language blobb for you and you don't even notice if you slip from one into another.
Also when the word actually doesn't have a direct translation and you have to explain what you mean by using several words when in your head it was neat and tidy, just one concrete word
I know it's late but HAPPY BIRTHDAY:)
Thank youuu :D❤
Yesss the other languages really mix up and become one and whenever you need to use one all you suddenly know is the other one Also good luck with your b2 course!
That's so true xD Thanks for cheering up (; ; )
That totally happens to me. 😂😂
Gambatte!
Arigato---!!!
Wir haben uns das mit Blut erkämpft.
I seriouly appreciate that...!
Well I never confused English and Japanese because they have completely different scripts. But I do definitely sometimes forget if I read something in German or English because they are pretty much the same difficulty for me by now.
Same! I often tell someone I read about something, and I realize I don't even remember the original language
@@Mystixor I think, it's good, means you understand the idea, instead of remembering a pattern
I'm German and have wondered in the past if I have written tests in the correct language English and German are just too damn similar sometimes ❤
Exactly 😂
When you're actually impressed by a movie not falling for the "fake german accent" trope and your english-only friends have ??? over their heads and you realize, the scene was entirely in German.

Happened to me as well 😂
Herzlichen Glückwunsch 🎉

when I was young, I had big trouble in learning Englisch. Then I studied Japanese after my study in the Uni. Back then I was also interessted in learning German.
I'm glad to hear that you were interested in learning Japanese:)
Insightful. Thanks for sharing your journey.✌ Good luck for your future endeavors. 🙂
Thank you:)❤
Great video.
I think I was on that Christmas Market on that same exact day. And I also went to the same "Wurststand" you went at the beginning xD
Wow maybe we met!?xD
@@chigira23 Idk, maybe xD
The reason why there was no table is that as a host you then have to pay 19% VAT instead of 7
There is reasons most of us are sick from the ukrainians. 1.4 million in 3 years, 10% only working, but half of them coming here are from safe regions and only also always wanted to live in EU. Many dont even try to integrate and just hang around in their groups all day. Atleast they dont do crime. But we have so many issues currently we cant afford having them chill out here like a hotel. Its impossible for me to find a new flat in my hometown for 4 years now because half the third-world tries to move here because free money and housing for them. Only worse are middle easterners because they do 80% of our crimes now according to our government and live in paralel societies
I always get the Krakauer Spezial with 🍟 at christmas markets. Sometimes frikadellen. This is a cozy little market I dont know what region that is but looks south. There are so many amazing christmas markets especially the one in dresden. In NRW are many nice ones too. Also if you look for friends, reddit is a place if you totally sociallyshy like I experienced most japanese and koreans to be. Otherwise go to a busy Bar or local outside events like Foodfestivals or smaller music festivals. Then drink a few beer and just start talking to some girls. Here in Düsseldorf are tons of Japanese people you would feel right at home and then still be able to meet a lot of germans through them. Most friends are made here at work, bars, social and sport hobbygroups, school/growing up together and of course half the time meeting friends of other friends
You're adorable xD the video was really enjoyable DE
Greetings from Bavaria.
Really!? xD
That’s a good explanation, never thought about that
This is kitchen scissors, so it makes perfect sense.
I can open beer bottles with other beer bottles
😂😂
This scissor is a normal
😂😂😂
Every scissor is a device for opening bottles
As we Germans are trained to open beer bottles with almost anything these scissors were most likely produced for export only. ;-)
I have the exactly same Scissors at home😂
Great that you have found friends! :)
Yeeeeess thank youuu🥹🥹✨
You realize it also has a part to crack open nuts?
That's the 'after drinking' part 😅
Ohhh I seeeee🙈
For us German everything is a bottle opener, we don’t need that Scissor 😂
Of course you don't 😂😂
thought the same. why they hurt that poor scissors? the scissors before was all you need.
😂❤
I think a mix of those could be the right way. Making sure not to shame or upset customers (by sighing, for example), but also not overworking yourself. Sighing or being rude to a customer is not seen as acceptable in Germany either.
That's true! We need a good balance and I personally think that is possible to do!
YESS
Hot apple wine is the best! Also combining apple and potatoes is like a staple thing here in germany, like mashed potatoes and apple sauce Blutwurst (saussage from blood) and potatoes and Applesauce is also VERY common! Have a pleasant stay. I really need to visit the Weihnachtsmarkt in Heidelberg aswell at some point!
Mashed potates and apple sauce!? Ohhh I gotta try that now🤤
@@chigira23Let me know how it goes 😂. I am personally not a big fan of that though.
This was so wholesome to watch your video. I wish there would be a Christmas market now. ^^
I agree! We need all year around version of Christmas market...!
