Best links ive gotten have been free. I had 0 experience in my niche starting out, just passion. It bled through and my 3rd month I had forbes and multiple others reach out for comments and linking to me. Those articles then got rewritten and I got like 25 links to my site 😂 done it 4 times now. Ive started 6 websites total. Apart from that I build my own pbn around my sites thats how these guys find me. The content is not affiliate, its informational or research/testing rhat nobody else does. Or a calculate tool things that scream authority. Pbn and web 2.0s and then give those posts some tier 2. I link to my money pages in those pages built to achieve links.

Exactly. But the point is - it's not only about websites with "Write for us" pages, it is websites in general. 95-99% of all websites are spammy overall and it goes for all kinds of links, even the ones you got passively/organically. However, it is always the best course of action to check the website before you make an effort to put a link there.

Another great video! Just a little correction on 9:00 about pogo sticking (bounce rate) Pogo-sticking is not the same as bounce rate. Bounce rate is not a negative ranking factor, as it represents a user leaving the site without taking any other action (clicking an internal link visiting another page or converting) while pogo sticking means that the user gets back to the SERP, looking for a better answer than yours. Bounce rate is, as far as I know, negligible as a ranking factor, while pogo sticking can hurt you big time, as bounce rate can mean that the user is satisfied with an answer. BR does not mean that the user returns to SERPs.

So, I have a question. Is it a bad backlink if you manage to land a guest post on a website that is not spammy, is not punished by Google and has let's say, a bit stricter guest post guidelines? Meaning if a site that lacks all the things you mention that a usual website that has a "Write for us" section has, is it still spammy? Because, using my logic, a website that has a "Write for us" page may not necessarily be spammy and accepting of everyone's blog posts, although many of them may be. Is there a way or a guideline we can filter out that kind of websites? I think I may be able to see if a website is spammy and its content is all over the place, but I may make a mistake.
