This week on the homestead we restocked the herbal apothecary and are showing you what we keep on hand after 10 years homesteading! This week on the homestead was all about staying warm! We hit hard negative temps here in the north and took the time to test out some candles. This week on the homestead we are preparing for some new additions! A neighbor gave us a run-in barn that Dennis took apart, hauled out in the snow, and rebuilt next to the cabin. We got buried in snow, but that didn't stop us from finishing the project of rebuilding! The snow has long arrived, and December is here! We cut down a spruce tree, and made some (perfectly imperfect) homemade ornaments and wreaths to hang on the cabin. The wood box is in daily need of stocking, the hearth tending, and water needs to be gathered from the spring.
