Watching your daughter carry that grouse brings back great memories of my Dad letting me carry a pheasant he shot when I wasn’t much older than her. That’s been a long time ago. Good times.
It has been years since I have canned anything but watching you do that jam and chili makes me want to get back into it again! Thank you for the inspiration!
12:17 it’s a perfect log cabin, it’s filled with Love and Joy. I would be more than happy, content, appreciative to have a cabin like this. You guys are awesome.
Another great video. Growing your food, foraging, and hunting for your own food is like printing your own money. We’ve done a lot of the same all our life but we need to do more of different stuff. Thanks for lets us come along on y’all’s journey. Looking forward to future videos.
You guys have really created an amazing life for yourselves. Your daughter is going to learn all your skills because she has no distractions, away from you. I hope you will home school her so she doesn't get led astray. I'm amazed at your canning skills. I am in my 57th year of marriage and I am embarrassed to admit, I have never canned a darned thing. It's too bad because, watching you, I feel I would have really enjoyed it. Living in a big city, working 9 to 5, never left much time although, we grew a lot of veggies for our own consumption. We have Grouse in my area of Canada but never thought they tasted that good. Living your lifestyle, you really get to be creative. I love watching your videos and can't wait for your next release. Stay well, be happy. Cheers❤
My Granny taught me the same thing. She said that it helped the jars to cool a little more slowly and helped keep them from cracking if there was too much cold on the bottom of a hot jar. (But that may just be an old wife's tale-she had a bunch of them!). So I always use an old towel as well.
Every time I see you coming up with good ideas like putting the light fixture plug under the house, I think in my head the Greek proverb of “ necessity is the mother of invention”. So even though it’s a bit hard when you can’t get an electrician to come up., You do a great job of solving the problems and making your life easier. And OMG 😮 the food you guys make looks mouthwatering 😊
I ABSOLUTELY ❤❤❤ your cabin 😊. It would suit me perfectly 🎉. Another great video. I'm really enjoying watching them and so happy I found your channel. You guys are amazing Survivorist; I wish I could live such a peaceful life surrounded by nature. I've got my 76yr mother to take care of and spoil rotten though 😂. RIP Dad knowing...... I've got this 👍🤘💪.
I really want to try a grouse blueberry grilled cheese over a wood fire! That looked so delicious! Thank you for another great video! And great job installing that new outlet and switch under the cabin! Well done! Cheers from Minnesota 🤘😎🇺🇸
Hello from the mountains of Kentucky, loving the videos ❤ I have always wanted to can and make my own bread but thought it was such a process but you make it look very simple. Thank you and stay warm 😊
This channel is taking off!!! I subscribe to dozens of off grid videos and it’s obvious that your heart and enthusiasm are there. Might I suggest a dog? Keep em’ coming!!!
You make what seem simple tasks so special 😊 it's been very cold (nothing compared to your temps), over here in England -5 around 2 inches of snow and i haven't been out in two days 😄 great video thanks for sharing ❤🏴x
Hearing your daughter jabbering in the background while you video is absolutely the cherry on top of the cake for me. My kids are all grown now and having kids of their own, so it brings back fond memories for me. Enjoy your time with her while you can. They grow so fast! BTW, I can remember my mom had a pressure cooker with a dancing weight similar to yours she brought back to Louisiana from Fairbanks in 1958. The lid would latch into the pot with a twisting motion to cam into the seal. It was a lot smaller than the one you have, but it was as heavy as bowling ball! Do y'all ever can fish?
We're so glad you enjoy the family moments ❤️ It's amazing how fast they grow! We do can a lot of salmon in the summer, and will be showing that this upcoming season as well! Thank you for watching, and happy new year 😊
Thank you so much for this video. I have been gathering supplies to start my canning soon. I was still a little nervous about doing it but after seeing your video I know I can do it. Thanks again love your content ❤❤❤
Beautiful place you got there. Wife and I have been looking to do that ourselves someday. Maybe not as far out unless it's a getaway 2nd place as not getting any younger. Lol BTW I've found for really cold days a battery powered heat gun to blast skittle warm air into the air box while cranking the engine to be helpful at times. Stay warm and safe.
I would love to have a cabin like yours the warmth & homeyness and love that ya’s made it sometimes I get overwhelmed taking care of a 3 bedroom hose $ 2 bathrooms alot of time spent cleaning but I love the outdoors more love all the canning videos and foods that you make such simple things is how I like it your living a dream ❤
Just found your guys channel and I love it! So cool to see how people live homesteading in Alaska. I’m in Minnesota so it’s cold but y’all have us beat haha.
Glad I found your channel! You prove a lot of what can be done off grid. Never knew that about catnip. My cats love it. Anything for lewy body dementia and neuropathy?🤔 I must have a sad life. Never had moose meat.🤣 I’ve had venison though. Lena like moose meals? Thanks for sharing. You doing another shopping video? Good night from 39 degree Florida,🥶
First things that come to mind for that are St. John’s wort, reishi and other adaptogenic mushrooms, skullcap, eleuthero, ginkgo, lemon balm, sage. I am not a health care professional though- these are just suggestions 😊 Lena loves moose! We have to run to the city soon- another shopping video coming as well!
I think it's great the way that y'all live and raise your family and the great outdoors away from all the nonsense everyday hustle and bustle. And thank you for the videos too they're very educational Y'all stay blessed and safe.
Hello from 60 minutes west of Vegas. We’re loving your homesteading crafts! You have a beautiful home and family. (And your daughter’s name is the same as my mom’s!❤) If it’s not too personal we’d love a cabin tour at some point. Keep up the great work!
It's always good to have outlets where you need them. It's the worse needing to plug something in and have to dig out the extension cords. The food looks amazing.
Love it ❤ thank you both for sharing your life with us. It’s so fun to get to see how you are living and to be able to learn from your challenges and your victories.

Love your channel and your family’s home in Alaska. You might want to consider adding a metal heat shield between your wood stove and your log walls. Over the years, log walls dry out and become more combustible.
Great content. I love the way you work together as a family. I’m fairly new to your channel and wonder if you could tell us where you get groceries when you have to and where you shop and run errands. Can you give a tour of your cabin? Thank you!
I love your vlogs. I just started watching you guys, and I love it! I would love a tour of the cabin. We only ever see the kitchen, outside, the stove, and the chickens. Is there any chance of a full tour of the cabin soon? I'm looking forward to more vlogs. All the best to you and your family. 💗
I just made chili a couple of days ago. Mine was a mix of beef and pork about 50/50. Tastes great and using the ground pork brings down the cost a bit. I make a huge pot and freeze small portions for me and my husband.
Doesn't need to BE big and fancy, but it feels like home, your words. That's what I say all the time🤗. Love your videos.
I have such admiration for you all and the way you live and raise your daughter. So beautiful. Keep the inspirational videos coming.
Thank you so much for the kind words ❤️❤️ more videos coming!
I can't stop watching! Jealous to the core! Stuff like this was my roots as a child, over 6 decades ago....
This is absolutely by far, in my opinion, one of the best channels. Period! Genre, knowledge, editing.. etc ..etc.
20:58 Just the sound of that crunch made me hungry, and I just had breakfast 😅
Sandwich looked amazing!
Watching your daughter carry that grouse brings back great memories of my Dad letting me carry a pheasant he shot when I wasn’t much older than her. That’s been a long time ago. Good times.

Gotta love that Buck 110 knife! Great family videos...
You guys are awesome, your videos are so interesting.
Thank you! We are so glad you enjoy them! 😊
My Gramma always set the jam jars on a towel after canning, so that's what I've always done. Just thought that I would share.
That is preferable! My towels were all being washed, so counter it was! ❤️
My Granny taught me the same thing. She said that it helped the jars to cool a little more slowly and helped keep them from cracking if there was too much cold on the bottom of a hot jar. (But that may just be an old wife's tale-she had a bunch of them!). So I always use an old towel as well.

Nice touch with the catnip tea. I love a catnip/spearmint blend tea. Also, catnip butter on einkorn bannock bread makes for a nice, rustic snack.

Love your channel and your family’s home in Alaska. You might want to consider adding a metal heat shield between your wood stove and your log walls. Over the years, log walls dry out and become more combustible.
