    Could you make a video on how to make it completely

  • @scout4locations

    Jeez dude.Kind of a dick attitude to have with the bleed thru. “ If you can’t think of how to hide it then just don’t even bother doing it. You’ll just mess it up and then you’ll will ruin it for everyone and embarrass me. And I don’t need that. In fact, just forget you ever watched this video. Take it off your history. We never met. Go away. Get off my lawn.” What a dick thing to say especially since you don’t have a solution to the problem yourself. If the illusion is being done right, then all their attention will be focused away from where the bleed is landing. The best way to hide bleed is with more light that will outshine it. Or, you use a scattering surface that has varied depths for the light to land upon.

      I didn't keep receipts, but if I were starting with absolutely nothing (trunk, motor and controller, boom box, wood, hardware, and misc. God-knows-what) I would guess $150 -$200. Depends on many things - can you get some of the stuff used for a great price, do you have scrap wood and hardware already lying around - etc etc etc.

    Hey man I asked a question before about displaying the image at ground level while avoiding the hot spot showing and you REALLY helped me out. I was able to place an object in from at the perfect ankle to block the light from the spectator while not blocking the image. My next issue is I’m noticing my images are small. They aren’t life size like a lot of the ads and videos I see. I got the AtmosFX USB with the two girls coming out of the well series. Looks great but small. Is this a function of the projector or do I need to purchase a different Atmos set of videos so the ghosts are more life size to fill the window space? Really appreciate your help bro. Thanks

      @jco685 8 месяцев назад

      Make sure any "zoom" setting on the projector (if it has one) is maxed out, but the main thing is distance from the projector to the window. If you have room to back the projector further away from the window, that's the preferable option.

    Man thanks a BUNCH for this! Best video I’ve seen on this. But wondering if you can help my out. I also have the Atmos videos (they’re AWESOME), I have a Growview 4K capable projector that I believe is really good. I also have the atmos gray screen. My problem is I’m finding it dam near impossible to project through the window downstairs in my house without the hot spot showing. I know on your video you had it at an upward angle, but I can’t aim it up high enough to keep the image in the window frame while also hiding the light. I believe your video was done on the second floor of your house so that no one at ground level can see the hot spot. Is that the only way? Because I do have a second story home but wanted to display it downstairs. But my downstairs windows are close to street level, with only about a foot of space between my inside floor and the window. So not enough bottom wall to hide the light. Any suggestions ?

    • @jco685
      @jco685 8 месяцев назад

      Boy, that's a tough one. All I can think of would be to block off the lower section of the window with a prop or a "Happy Halloween" sign or some such thing. That would block the spectator's view of the projector and still allow you to project images onto the upper section of the window. Other than that I don't know, you might be stuck having to use the window upstairs.

    I'm having a horrible problem with bleed through. I'm trying to project my atmosfx ghost in a normal room door way but the image keeps bleeding into the adjust room. I'd there any way to stop this?

    • @jco685
      @jco685 Год назад

      There is no way to "stop" bleed-through. The way to deal with it is to have it land on a surface the spectators can't see. It either needs to land on a surface out of the spectator's line of sight, or on a surface that you have blocked from view with another object. When I show Hollusions in my living room window I get major bleed-through on the fascia underneath the gutters right above the window. I dealt with that by making a sign and hanging it off the gutter, just big enough to block the view of the fascia but not block the view of the window. Every situation is different. Bleed-through is going to happen, it's just inherent in the nature of the method. Most of the time you can engineer the situation to keep it out of view, but sometimes you have to just bite the bullet and admit it won't work in the conditions you're being forced to deal with.

    My last house had multiple windows and I just hung a frosted shower curtain from Dollar Tree or Walmart on a curtain rod on every window and the projection image was crystal clear and probably five times brighter than what you will get with most Fabrics. The Frosted shower curtain plastic really grabs and holds onto the projection light. It down side is, you are not going to see through it at all, so if you want it to look like a ghost that you see through with no privacy where people can see into your house, then it's not what you're looking for. I just wanted to look like white sheers or curtains in my windows during the day that had video projections that night, but I definitely understand wanting to be able to see through the ghost into the house even though personally I don't like people seeing me walking around in my house lol. If I wanted people to see into the house I would do the chiffon and if I wanted privacy or a brighter clear image I would do a frosted shower curtain.

    • @4rg3s
      @4rg3s 2 года назад

      Thank for the review. I am thinking about chiffon and search "projection on chiffon fabric" and it led me here! I want to fake a "hologram" effect but afraid that if the screen material is too transparent, the light will fall right through the fabric/plastic. Trying to find a right opacity before ordering.

      I’m confused lol but it’s me not you. We are gonna do a projection in front doorway..we are gonna keep our main front door open and we have a clear glas storm door we will keep closed and a cloth behind it with the projector inside. What would YOU suggest for fabric?

  • @TravisJReed
    @TravisJReed 2 года назад

    I hate the hollusion material. It was way too expensive and it started ripping in the wind here after time. I used it outside and you definitely see it during the day. I could not believe how dim the projection image was on it. I thought it was my projector. I put a frosted shower curtain behind the fabric and then the image was unbelievably bright. So it was waste of money. It's a lot harder to do these projections outside in your yard when there is more ambient light and of course it's way harder to hide the fabric. I ended up doing a Halloween inflatable on each side of the projection screen to kind of cover it up the best I could. Sadly I'm in a mid-century modern house that literally has zero windows in the front so I don't have the window projection option at all.

      The company I get the Halloween projections from, AtmosFX, has other projections that aren't Halloween-themed. They have other holidays, dinosaurs, birthdays, Star Trek, lots of stuff. You can project any image or video onto the material you want, the thing to keep in mind is that any area of the image that is black will be invisible to the viewer, allowing them to see whatever is behind the material.
