A warm welcome to you all. My name is Andrew Fraser and I am the founder of The Car Boutique (TCB) Facebook Group. The group was set up by myself to promote a welcoming and engaging social forum for enthusiasts, professionals and brand owners to chat and share ideas. Jump forward a few years and we are now one of the most active and friendly detailing groups on Facebook.
The TCB RUclips channel came shortly after as I was continually asked by brands to test on and off camera their products and accessories. Being a Leadership and Management instructor for over 10 years, I felt comfortable in front of the camera so decided to give it a go and well here we are now!
The TCB RUclips channel primarily focusses on unbiased and fully independent product reviews. It is not just me and I welcome other TCB moderators/admins and special guests to join me on camera. Its all about having fun and enjoying the detailing industry.

Can you use Gyeon Pure on wheels, windows and plastic trims too?
Great video, you've demonstrated that really well I think. Although the trigger noises, without seeing you spray it on, was absolute filth 😅
Ha ha, cheers buddy.
Wonderful job Andrew, the gloss is superb 👏
Thank you very much. Cheers.
Do you have any idea when HBS will be selling again, apart from at Waxstock?
Hiya buddy. Not sure but I do know that if there is a lot of interest it will spark his interest. I will drop him a message and tell him people are asking about the wax. Keep an eye on the HBS Facebook page as he communicates most his work on that. Cheers
I love this stuff! I used it 1 year ago on my mustang and its still holding up amazing.. The only down fall is the very strong chemical smell.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. It's a very nice coating and I do agree about the smell. Cheers.
That rainbow effect really showed up, you certainly put in the machine time to get a great surface to work with.
Thanks buddy. It was hard but rewarding work. The final finish makes the graft worth it. Cheers.
Thanks for the demo. Really turned out well, despite not having your right hand man available 😅 It'll be good to see more DIY products. I really fancy trying their ceramic gloss because I'd like to know how it compares to BSD Thanks again
Thanks buddy. More DIY reviews coming soon. Cheers.
I have the 5 year on the wife's car, there is a one year coating coming out soon
Cheers and thanks for watching. I plan to review more of their coatings as this 1 was a pleasure to apply.
All that machine polishing and no Karl to do it!
I know, it was a struggle not having the big guns helping lol.
Nice work Andy, I've recently purchased some DIY products to try, I haven't used any yet though. Yeh, BMW paint can be rock hard at times, which polish pad combo did you find was working well there?
Thanks buddy. I used Zvizzer Medium compound with a medium thermo pad. I then did the second pass with their Fine combination.
Thanks for another really enjoyable and informative video. I've only used the Gyeon range of ceramic coatings, so will be interesting to see how this compares with MOHS and Skin which is a nightmare on a dark blue car. I've spoken to a supplier of graphene that is used is car products and they told me the amount is so small it makes no real difference, just a gimmick.
I am undecided on the merits of graphene if I am honest. Putting that aside, this is a lovely coating. I will monitor for longevity and see if the coating is less susceptible to water points. Cheers again.
Transformed that car to another level …
Thank you Bri.
Gutted I missed this one. Looks very impressive all round coating. Final finish on the car was fantastic 😁
Cheers buddy.
It looks nice and easy to apply and it is a good price.
Thanks for watching. I was really happy with this coating.
looks very swirled up and won't last very long. next time please show the sun in the video. so we all can learn more about paint correction. keep it up, my friend.
All noted. Cheers buddy.
I used on my SUV (already have Gyeon Mosh ceramic with Skin 4 years application) but with these upgrade maintenance looks better! Really improvement!
Thanks buddy.
Don’t wash for 3-4 weeks 🧐🧐🧐 sounds laughable
I always await your replies. To assist in others reading your messages, can you elaborate. It would be wrong for me to assess your thoughts. Thanks.
@@thecarboutique2467 yeah 3-4 weeks didn’t sound right & when looked on there page this what they said … “For newly installed car coatings, we recommend you wait 1 to 2 weeks before doing a general wash to allow your coating to fully cure to a maximum level”
Great video!! What did you think gave a glossier look this or GT Cerberus?
I think GT gave a slightly better finish but not much in it if I'm honest.
@@thecarboutique2467 Amazing thank you
Hello any update of this wax and Keramiq9?? Thanks good day
Looks like a lovely product. When removing waxes, sealants, spray ons (not full ceramics), etc, do you start with the thickest softest towel and if that works carry on, but if it doesn't then try a lower pile towel? As always, i really enjiyour channel
Hiya buddy. No to remove initially I tend to use a 300/320 GSM cloth. I then follow up with a high GSM cloth for the final buff.
@@thecarboutique2467 thanks. Every video is school day for me. Much appreciated
Hi guys, very good video! I just coated my car 8 days ago with Pure and I will take my car out only tomorrow, so do you suggest me to top Pure with Cure before taking my car out? Thank you!
Thanks for watching buddy. I would highly recommend applying Cure before taking the vehicle out. This will provide protection for your Pure coating. Cure can then be applied anytime in the future to give additional protection and extend the life of your Pure base coating. Cheers..
How long after car has been coated can you apply cure?
Last years 3 are an absolute dream to use. I love mine i have to say. Ill buy some if available this month
Thanks for watching. Hopefully they will become available in the UK soon.
Glad I found your channel finally. Learning lots already and will get through your back catalogue! Wish you guys the best of luck with TCB, follow your passion!
Thank you very much. The old videos are a bit amateur but we had to start somewhere. Detailing is a journey not a destination so we are looking forward to the future. Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment.
Detailing police 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Oh we are used to them! That wax looks stunning. Very niceeeee finish and beadage! 😮😮😮
Cheers buddy. See you at Waxstock.
Good, interesting review. Question - what kind of water did you use? Hard water may be reason for the water spots. Would de-ionized water leave the car water spot free?
Thanks for watching. A valid observation. Our water is moderate but I will test it again now you have asked the question. The marks on the plastic are too severe for hard water and I have used similar products with no such issues. A lot of questions have come from this review so we are going to retest in August. I will post the video and hopefully we can answer some questions people have been asking. Cheers again.
Loving the wax content and especially something about Fireball waxes as there is so little talk about them here on youtube. Sad to hear that you guys have no dealer or retailer in the UK., it's a shame. Great vid as always!
Thanks for watching. I really hope somebody starts selling in the UK as I think this brand will do well. Cheers for leaving a comment.
Ive used a lot of waxes like collnite , Angelwax, Chemical Guys, Autofinesse, meguires, ... But i allways get back to GYEON Q2 WAX , easy application and the best beading & sheeting ive seen . Wash every week with Gyeon Bathe + and your car is smooth as a baby's skin
Cheers for watching. Is there a specific wax you would like us to review as we are always looking for recommendations. Thanks.
That blue is stunning guys 😍
Thank you. We cannot wait to machine polish this car next time. It will come up like glass.
great review guys, i was hoping to find a fusso review. but don’t think so! why would that be?
Hiya and thanks for watching. I will reach out to Soft99 and see if they would like us to review their waxes.
Use iron fall out at the end for a better result, detailer of 20 years
What do you mean, iron fallout after waxing?
Hiya and thank you for watching the video. Like you, a lot of people will use Fallout remover after the contact wash phase. Indeed I use to do the same thing. The reason why I use the Fallout remover before the contact phase is that not all the iron contamination will be embedded within the clear coat. A lot of the fallout will actually be in the road film that is left behind after your pre-wash phase so then progressing to the contact wash runs the risk of you forcing this iron contamination into the clear coat. For this reason I will apply the fallout remover before the contact phase to avoid this issue. I do however see merit in applying Fallout remover after the contact phase as well as it goes without saying that some of the iron with now be exposed with the road grime removed and the Fallour remover will have more access to this contamination. Alas we all have our own way of cleaning a car so this is just my method and a method used by a lot of professional detailers that I work with. Thanks again for watching the video and leaving a comment.
Fair play they were some naughty beads 😍 another great video guys 👌🏻
Cheers buddy. Good to be back testing waxes lol.
What do you do for a living Andy? Some serious hooks
The hooks are nothing to do with me buddy. They are for cranes and put on the racking to dry. I am a senior engineering manager myself.
@@thecarboutique2467 ohhh I see. Well that sounds a world away from detailing!
@@TruckerMatty93 A bit. There is actually a lot of cross over in terms of mechanics and physics. I have been detailing cars for over 25 years so it is a passion that never ceases. I find that most detailers also have an interest in engineering so it is common to find many engineers that enjoy detailing and a passion for cars.
@@thecarboutique2467 Just a hobby for me too, not as experienced as most but hey ho. I'm a lorry driver. Definitely doesn't cross over to detailing 😂
I've used a ceramic product for the last 3 years but I'm going back to wax. Prefer the ability to play with different waxes, no need to always feel you need to do full polish process first if you don't want to.
Ceramic coatings do have their place in the detailing industry but I totally agree that waxes are more enjoyable from a user experience. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Cheers. Out of interest are there any waxes you would like us to do a video review on?
@@thecarboutique2467I like to try and get UK made stuff. Read good things about Neowax No1. Not got any. Have used Infinity Wax Primo (great wax), now trying a few Mitchell and King ones. Have used original Fusso, not as nice an experience, reserving for wheel barrels now.
It was great to get back to waxes! Love this review ❤
Agree buddy. Much fun was had on this 1.
Evening
Greetings buddy. Another video for you to watch lol.
Great video boys. Looks brilliant for ease of use. Contact angles of the beads looks a little flat as you boys mentioned but interested to see if it develops a bit. Price wise looks very competitive 👍👍
Cheers buddy. We are getting the car back shortly so we can see the water behaviour after the coating has fully hardened.
Thanks for the informative review. I am looking to coat one of my cars soon. My daily has had Gyeon Mohs Evo Light on for nearly two years, and it has performed well and been really easy to apply. It is also at a very good price point, so it might be hard to beat.
Gyeon Mohs is a great coating it has to be said. The fun part is always looking for the next product. Cheers.
Cracking work again lads, the gloss on there does remind me of some of the Kamikaze coatings, they also have a candy like gloss. Very interested to see if water behaviour changes either way and if it is susceptible to water spotting and mineral clogging, however he hardness of the coating may be a winner, with perhaps a topper if the water behaviour is really desired.
Thanks buddy. I am planning to purchase some Kamikaze products at Waxstock as it is a brand I wish to explore further. Regarding the hydrophobics of this coating, we are monitoring over the next weeks as the coating fully hardens. Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment.
I got told db36 gets better as it cures more so would the beading and sheeting get better over time?
Hiya buddy. Thanks for watching. I will monitor the water behaviour over the next few weeks as the coating fully hardens. Cheers
Diamonds are made of carbon which is completely different chemistry to ceramic coatings which are inorganic SiO2 etc. It will be interesting to see if the hydrophobic performance improves. I've used Gyeon Pure and MOHS on my cars and been impressed.
Thanks for watching buddy and I hope so.
Too late ditty pair of shoes with a nice suit😂🤫🤣😆👀
It's a great look lol.
Loved this video. Something different and enjoyed Karl’s survey. Similar to my car with the higher depth paint in certain areas. Nice takeaway ideas on what to use. Very informative… Keep pumping them out guys.
Thanks buddy for watching and leaving a comment. Every car has a story to tell lol.
Regardless of the coating, the paint really pops. You've done a lovely job there. Big fan of a nice blue. Something to look into is combining a clay towel and an iron remover. The DIY Detail Decon Towel with BH Korrosol works superbly. Saves time and on an expensive type of product. Thanks for the demo
Hiya buddy. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. I have seen a few people use Iron Remover with a Clay Cloth but I do have reservations. Iron Remover is intended to target the corrosion formed around Iron to the point that they reduce in size and can be removed usually via pressure washer force. I have reservations that using a clay cloth runs the risk of dragging that Iron across the paint surface and causing marring. Happy to discuss further buddy.
@@thecarboutique2467 really good point. Never thought of it that way. May have to ask DIY what their thoughts regarding that are. Thanks
@@pigeonpoo1823 Cheers. Get back to me what they say. We all do things differently so I am always happy to hear other peoples process and opinions.
@@thecarboutique2467 this could end up creating more questions than it answers. They responded to a similar q with the answer 'perforated clay towels use a polymer and have space for the contamination to go'. In a recent DIY Detail (2 weeks ago) video called 'this doesn't make sense. Misleading terms' the first 6mins are dedicated to this topic. Worth a watch. Is there a right or wrong way? Perhaps, for an enthusiast, saving 20mins isn't worth combining the steps. For a business it may well be worth it. There we go.. absolutely no closer to the answer than when we started. 🤣
@@pigeonpoo1823 Hiya buddy. An interesting response and I do see what they are saying. From a purist point of view however, why use fallout to clay with when it is not designed to do that. Clay lube and shampoo for example are designed to be lubricated and as such are designed for contact phases. Irrespective as to whether your clay media is perforated and has the potential to allow abrasive contaminants to move into the perforations away from the clear coat surface, why use a product that is not designed to add lubricity. I cannot see any plausible argument to use fallout remover apart from it targets iron contamination. I agree from a business point of view where time is money that claying and fallout removing at the same time makes theoretical sense, but from an enthusiast perspective where I am not confined to the restrictions of 'time', then taking the safer option is a must for me. An interesting discussion this it has to be said. Lastly and to add mitigation to the claying with fallout argument, you generally are polishing after clay so does the potential micro scratches induced by this method really matter........
I've had this on my daily driver for about 8 months. Has only required normal pH neutral rinseless washes (with an occasional snow foam prewash) and I have not put any toppers/sealants on top. It is performing like day one, has met all of the sales claims up to this point and I'm very happy with it so far. The beading/hydrophobicity definitely bumps up as the coating cures more. There's some online FUD/criticism being spread about these coatings online, but that seems to either be user error or some other uncontrolled factor.
Thanks very much for maintenance advice as it was lacking in the site. Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching. Confidence is now high buddy.
Thanks for the info on maintenance washes. Also thanks for the information about hydrophobicity once the coating cures fully. Look forward to car again to test again 😁
Maybe they updated it or there were bad batches, but this and their wheel coating sucked for me when I applied it 2 years ago.
@@KarlHampson-TCB Great video. How long did you wait before doing water test?
Very interesting to see your agreement on application and removal and of the actual product seemed to be a winner Be interesting the longevity performance but I’m sure you’ll be monitoring very closely Great video guys love watching them 😁
Thanks buddy. We are going to get the car back in 1 month to see if the hydrophobicity improves after the coating has fully hardened. We will monitor the coating and return to it formally in 1 year to see how it is standing up. Thanks for watching.
That looks stonking!
