    I’ve received mine but yet to use, planning on redoing my coating in May.
    The only gripe I currently have is for the money I would have liked a dedicated storage case like my PXE.

      I totally agree. For £750, and to keep competitive in relation to Flex, this should have come with a dedicated box or at least Rupes bag. Totally agree.

    People often overlook this aspect: Companies like DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Makita embraced battery-powered tools due to their extensive tool selections. Cordless tools are like printers; the batteries can cost more than the tools themselves. However, you can mitigate costs by purchasing additional batteries and opting for tool-only options. This delay in adoption might explain why companies specializing in polishers were late to the party. Many RUclips influencers follow a similar pattern in their product reviews, focusing solely on the product itself rather than considering the broader context, long-term implications, and overall value. They often fail to mention the cost and availability of batteries, which are crucial components of the ecosystem.

    Really wasnt a fan of this machine i got to play with one pre release, wasnt impressed, for the cost it didnt feel premium to me , personaly for me that carbon fiber look cheapens the machine too it kinda felt like a cheap machine from temu, just the build quality on the one i used didnt feel what youd except from the price , it was nice and smooth to use and the fast battery charging is a life saver , i just think for the price point its missed thr bar for me , kinda feel like this was released in a hurry , but thats my personal opinion

      @@thecarboutique2467 100%im hoping it was down to me playing with a a pre release machine , will be getting to play with them when I go to TRCMA at end of month and hopefully my opinion will change , could just be my ADHD brain use to different machines and needs to get use to a Rupes 🤣

    • @thecarboutique2467
      @thecarboutique2467  6 месяцев назад

      The only difference in the pre-release machines was the fact that the LED light strip had not been fully programmed. I noticed this when I tested the pre-release machine a few months ago. For the reason you give for potentially finding the Rupes machine not ideal, are the exact reasons why I myself did decide on Rupes over competitors such as Flex. I am used to the feel of the Rupes and thus it feels ideal for me. When it comes to machine polishers I think people get used to a specific brand and do find it difficult to change. I tested a few Flex machines recently and just did not like the feel. This is nothing to do with the build quality and performance of Flex, it was merely down to the fact that the ergonomics were unusual. I do have a Flex PXE80 and love it but never bought the Rupes nano to compare. @@TheHairyHouseWife

    For the price, what exactly are the benefits of this new polisher over the old one? Longer runtime? No, the old one can run all day. Noise? You still have to wear hearing protection. Weight? People pay for the gym to lift, at least you don't pay to lift for the old one. Comfort? Yes, but you have to work harder to cope with the cost of the polisher. Higher maintenance? Yes, due to battery and electric bill expenses. Better performance? No.

      Thank you for your comments and personally evaluation of the DA. The review I did articulates my perceived benefits. As with anything in detailing it is subjective and we all have our personal thoughts and opinions. Albeit my analysis disagrees with you in total, your analysis does provide potential customers an alternative view point so thank you for commenting.

    It worries me that the motor has only 350 watts as compared to the 500 watts of the corded machine. I assume they did this mostly for battery life. But that's still 150 watts less power and 500 isn't that much either compared to the 1400 watts of a Flex for example. Especially for that price, I am really on the fence. I think I will go with the mark 3 for my next machine.
    Also, 40 minutes might be a lot for a battery polisher, but not nearly enough for a full car even with an additional battery. Now there is a corded battery adapter, but if I use that, why did I switch to battery in the first place?

    • @thecarboutique2467

      Hiya buddy. I think your way forward sounds the perfect suggestion. 2 sprays seems to be recommended and then applying with a micrfibre gives control and full coverage before rinse off. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

    Great review, thanks for sharing. Love the Rupes system as whole, I really enjoy using the yellow wool.
    For hard paint, the yellow wool is brilliant with Blue DA Coarse, whilst short cycling as intended by Rupes, it yields very good results and finishes down surprisingly well.
    Are the intermediate pads in between yellow foam and normal blue foam? Have you ever used the Mille?

    • @thecarboutique2467
      @thecarboutique2467  6 месяцев назад +1

      I think the new pads are for slotting in between existing pads. I have not used them yet but designed to be used with a variety of pad/compou d combinations. Not used the Millie no.

    Thanks for the review, great video and looks like a great machine! In action the battery part seems to be getting sometimes quite close to the paint surface, I assume this hasn't been an issue? Again many thanks!

    • @thecarboutique2467
      @thecarboutique2467  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching. You raise a very valid point. You are definitely closer to the paint and at certain points you do have to be extra careful. The bit of the battery that would touch any paint is protected by rubber which would mitigate. I should have mentioned this during the video as it is definitely something you have to adjust to. Great question. Cheers.

  • @asaholey
    @asaholey 5 месяцев назад +2

    It's possible that there is a monitoring chip inside that cuts the power when the voltage is low, unlike other polishers that continue operating until the battery is fully depleted..
    Maybe it's better if compare the battery capacity, runtime and charging time.. Then if that the case I prefer other polisher that don't cut the power.

  • @rokkz
    @rokkz 6 месяцев назад +3

    Although smaller I urge you to try the Mika 3" 12mm Orbit, smoother than the new Rupes and blows the Rupes 3" away, Why does Carl angle a portion of Random orbital pad off the surface, as if his doing old school rotary polishing (19:44, 19:51, 20:06,20:12,20:25) , a big no no with a 15/21mm random orbital with 3/4 of the pad on the surface. Great Video, Very Detailed

    • @thecarboutique2467
      @thecarboutique2467  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hiya buddy. Karl I think was trying to see if the machine stalled if you run it on the edge. He used a variety of pad angles to see how the machine performed. Albeit I agree with you in general, I do tilt my pad when I am polishing into a curved surface, thus enabling the pad to blend into the shape of the curve.

    • @jtm1979
      @jtm1979 6 месяцев назад +1

      Tilting the machine is totally fine and good special technique if you know what you are doing. Also hlr75 is more powerfull than Mirka and Mirka doesnt have trigger lock. I am finnish but i prefer italian rupes over finnish mirka. They make the Best sanders in the world though.

      @thecarboutique2467  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment. When it comes to declaring something as ‘too expensive’ it suggests that you are unable to justify the perceived value of the product. As such the term ‘too expensive’ is a relative term and highly subjective. This is why I do not get bogged down on price, but rather focus on performance. It is then down to you as to whether, after watching the video, you think the price of the product represents value. Case in point is that the 2 of us have watched the video and disagree over the price issue. This is why a competitive market is beneficial in this case as it offers choice. Thanks again for watching the video and expressing your opinion.
