IT’S OPEN! | Mickey’s Diner Opening Day Review
Просмотров 436Месяц назад
Today we are finally reviewing Mickey’s diner in downtown St. Paul! This almost completely original diner on the national register of historic places has been closed since 2020 so we could not review it back in last year’s diner video. I’m so excited to see the day where this video is posted, if you’re in the area please check out this historic diner, to anyone watching; enjoy :) Thank you for ...
Riding a GO Train (Barrie Line)

Today we are riding on GO Transit’s Barrie Line to Downsview Park. GO Transit is Toronto’s main suburban transit provider, operated by the Government of Ontario (hence GO). GO trains consist of the typical U.S. commuter rail setup, with a lot of Bombardier bi-levels, in fact, GO Transit is the largest operator of the Bombardier bi-levels. Thank you for checking out this video!

Riding the KC Streetcar

Today we visit every station on the KC Streetcar, a primarily tourist streetcar that runs through downtown Kansas City. This streetcar draws many parallels with the Milwaukee Streetcar and many other 2010s era U.S. streetcars. The KC Streetcar will be opening a new expansion in the next year which will make it a more viable transportation option outside of downtown Kansas City. Thank you for yo...
Riding Toronto’s UP Express

Today we are riding GO Transit’s airport express, titled UP Express, from Toronto’s Pearson Airport to Union Station. This train runs every five minutes making two stops in between where it offers many bus and TTC subway connections. This offers the quickest way to get from Pearson Airport to downtown Toronto with the train only taking 25 minutes. Thank you for your support!
Portage - Least Used Amtrak Station in Wisconsin
Просмотров 9974 месяца назад
Today we visit the city of Portage, home to the least used Amtrak station in Wisconsin. This station saw 15,520 passengers in 2023, an average of 15 a day. We explore what this railroad city has to offer for these 15,520 in about two hours in today’s video. Yes, this is another total @MilesinTransit rip-off. Thank you for your support!

A Dotted Historic Streetcar?!? | Riding the Tampa TECO Historic Streetcar
Просмотров 574 месяца назад
Today we ride Tampa’s historic streetcar which runs from Ybor City to Downtown primarily along the Bay. These streetcars were designed to replicate Tampa’s 1920s streetcars but for some stupid reason TECO decided to dot most of their fleet of HISTORIC STREETCARS. This was not helped by the fact that it was night and rainy. Thank you for tuning in!

Out In Less Than A Week on MSP Transit!
Thank you …I needed this video!
Some say there’s no reason to get off at portage- I disagree. For a lot of communities in central and northern Wisconsin up the way on I-39 and US51, portage is the closest and most convenient station. It’s what I do to get to and from my family’s home in central Wisconsin from my home in Illinois. Taking the train to portage and then driving an hour north, it works pretty well. I personally appreciate this station for existing.
The train is the BEST way to get to/ from the Mall of America. Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely!
I was there many years ago. Very glad to see it's open again. Great video!
Thank you!
Love that restaurant and that channel picture is good for a light rail lol
Is that the diner from GTA 4?
It’s from the Jerry O’Mahoney Diner Company
This guy is a smart ass. What a shithead.
I actually just moved into Minneapolis and diners are my favorite kind of restaurant, so I see this as a guide if anything lmao
Glad it could help, I definitely recommend giving these a try :)
I believe they are green in Europe as well, but I thought they had more American aspects to their signage since they use "Maximum (speed in km/hr)" and not the red circle
Europe does have green exit signs, and you are correct that signage in Canada (like speed limits) are quite similar to American signs.
You can take the Barrie Line (then transfer to a bus at Maple) to reach Canada's Wonderland
Is it anything like Miniatur Wunderland? :3
Kansas Citian here. The Main Street extension is almost done, as you pointed out. It's been quite exciting seeing it being built over the last couple of years. There's a second, much smaller extension to the Riverfront (from River Market North) that'll be open by '26.
I am very much looking forward to it!
When will it change to the e line?
Around December 2025, and I'm planning to ride it in the future :D
buses are for bums we want light rails and subways
bruh, its all about money. light rails and subways r not going to be as cost-effective for a midwestern city than brt.
As valuable rail is, unfortunately it cannot be put in place in every project, nor should it. The E line will improve frequency and speed along the corridor. Unfortunately, funding for rail is also very difficult to fund and has faced a lot of backlash recently in the Twin Cities so it’s the best we can get for now.
I haven't been to Southdale in about 15 years. That area has really changed. I hope you can find a way to improve audio in your videos. Your descriptions are lost due to the bus and background noise. MN has two seasons - road construction and winter. Thanks for sharing!
I am aware of the audio issues (it’s forever the plague of my channel) and am working on improving it. Thanks for the support :)
1300 ‘a had ge motors for oak Harriet run faster on right away,
u sound like a b.
thanks for posting the worlds wasteful ride its way behind only the east side of casinos costs to much and does not serve the airport or raider stadium lets take it down and start over
Idk if taking it down is the best strategy but it could definitely be expanded and vastly improved.
Ay nice! Glad you got the opportunity to going there on the UP Express, and hope you had a great time too 😎🙌
I did! Thank you!
Presto typically charges by distance, so you need to remember to tap your card when getting on & off. Otherwise the system will assume you did a full distance trip.
Thankfully I did but it definitely took some getting used to.
I'm guessing you might have watched a video or two put out by Miles In Transit. I love the whole menu shot bit.
That’s correct
My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🛤🚊🚂🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚝🚞🚋 they're one of his favorite things in the whole world 🌎! He finds those bi level electric cars very interesting and thinks they are highly underrated rail transportation vehicles. He also thinks that the part of the Virginian Railroad that use to be electrified should be "reelectrified" and the departments of transportation should run these on them and the part of the Milwaukee Road Pacific Extension that was electrified as well.
I agree that we should be electrifying as much of the country’s rail infrastructure as possible. It makes for more efficient, quieter, and quicker trains, which ultimately saves money in the long run. And yes, trains are one of the best things in the world, your son has good taste.
@@msptransit Well thank you for your reply we appreciate it and are glad you agree God bless you 🙏🫂🎼☁️🔥💧👍⭐❤🍞🌅🐑✡🤴🐏🦁👑🦅🕊🥀🛡🗡✝️😇 John 3:16
Going to one of those tomorrow I’m lucky i got the free tickets of it
Thank you for the update of the station
I live in Wisconsin, and I can't think of anytime I would go to Portage... I worked for a couple of railroads and they all referred to Amtrack as Amcrash.
You can go to Portage to visit the least used Amtrak station.
I used the Portage station when I visited my aunt because the alternative was the one in the Dells that always has horrible traffic.
No reason to ever get off at this location. My school paid for a class trip from Columbus to there to visit a hatchery The only time I will ever ride a train.
The reason why train travel is important to invest in is because it serves communities that otherwise would not be connected by any form of public transportation. Not everyone in the world owns a car. There is a reason why the whole town was our celebrating the arrival of the train, it greatly improves the connections elsewhere, provides a huge economic boost to the local businesses, and helps the town itself grow. The success of the Borealis proves how rail can be successful and is worth investing in. I definitely suggest trying out rail travel again, it is in my opinion the best way to travel because it allows you to relax and enjoy the ride rather than stress before a flight or have to conduct yourself in a car. I really hope that you don’t just dismiss rail travel forever, frankly I feel that notion is very limiting and sad, sorry.
RIP Redbox
Haha, yeah, literally a dump now.
Yeah! Another least used station video from a channel whose name begins with M and ends with Transit 😁
It’s always a good day when that happens!
the picture is a but to similar, with similar content, to be by accident
This kinda freaked me out because I thought I was the only person in the whole world who said "Weeee" when going down a ramp or decline. No public toilet or water fountain at the depot? Thanks for sharing!
Hehe, I’m glad to have found another. Unfortunately no water fountain or bathroom reviews today, a real bummer for sure.

Awesome video, I am also a local to the Twin Cities On the inaugural day, I was in Canada riding the world famous Canadian from Toronto to Vancouver. interesting to see your video and what was going on down here on opening day
Thanks you, I hope you enjoyed your ride on the Canadian?
Me and a friend rode it from CHI to CBS and back to MKE. I thought the same thing on the Winona sticker! LOL. I am jelouis you got the Empire Builder pin!
The empire builder pin is sick and I’m sorry you don’t get one.
@@msptransit I had two, and lost one of them. At least I do have one anyway. and been watching for it online to orde rmore.
Nice video, though I do find that diction is a lost art.
Would you like more diction in the future?
Wow
Nice video!,I have a question how does one get a tour? Cause am guessing this isn’t something we’re used to just show up and they give you a tour? Did you have to apply or were you handpicked?
This was for Doors Open MPLS, an event done once a year by the city of Minneapolis where a bunch of government owned facilities open their doors for the public to see for free.
@@msptransit ooh nice
Fantastic opportunity. Thanks for sharing!
That's very cool, thanks for sharing! I notice 317 has a second pantograph. What's that for?
That's used for ice in the winter, all but 14 or 15 type twos have it
It’s a Ice cutter installed on all LRTs helps ice from building up on the Pantograph lines

What’s with those useless face masks? Unaware that there is a Covid-19 outbreak in the Twin Cities.
I dunno, a mask might save you from my copious amounts of transgender.
It's the twin cities. Very woke. I live in MN. In a suburbs
In the early 90s the 21 was busy as heck we would get on at Grand Ave and go down to Bloomington Ave. There were times when you couldn't sit down the bus, would get that crowded.
I’m sure! I remember it being crazy crowded when I was a wee one and still gets very busy today. I can’t wait for the B Line to open!
Was this the very first run of the new service that might explain all the people at the station.
Yes it was
i wish they would expand this line to duluth eventually. i love the union depot, spent a lot of time as a kid watching trains come and go. i've been on this route many times on the empire builder and milwaukee road 261. a very nice trip.
They do got one planned for Duluth the northern lights express or whatever it's called.
There is a planned Duluth route which is called the Northern Lights Express but which will likely terminate at Target Field for some reason. Glad you enjoyed!
I rode it last week.
Awesome! Did you enjoy your ride?
@@msptransit yes, but having problems getting my points for that ride. I'm riding again soon, because it is so much better than riding the bus!
