Awesome video, I am also a local to the Twin Cities On the inaugural day, I was in Canada riding the world famous Canadian from Toronto to Vancouver. interesting to see your video and what was going on down here on opening day
Wonderful spotting and onboard captures, hope you had a fantastic day and keep up what you do best, as I’m sure many look forward to your hard work *_;)_* 🔥💙👏
i wish they would expand this line to duluth eventually. i love the union depot, spent a lot of time as a kid watching trains come and go. i've been on this route many times on the empire builder and milwaukee road 261. a very nice trip.
There is a planned Duluth route which is called the Northern Lights Express but which will likely terminate at Target Field for some reason. Glad you enjoyed!
I personally see the Wisconsin Dells potentially getting more service as it might be appealing to couples or teens to spend a day or weekend doing the attractions on the main drag, or suck up and get an uber to Mount Olympus and the nature areas. The Borealis will be much more reliable than the Empire Builder eastbound due to it being almost completely double-tracked, not splitting in two at some point, and other factors
I wish the CPKC / old Milwaukee Road route was still double-tracked, but it mostly has sidings between St. Paul and the Milwaukee suburbs. Pre-Amtrak, the Empire Builder ran on the Wisconsin side of the river and through northern Illinois, and BNSF has kept that double-tracked. A bit of double-track/sidings are part of upgrades to make eay for this, being added to the CPKC in Winona, La Crescent, and La Crosse. Hopefully they'll keep adding double-track in appropriate spots as they work to add more trips
Oh ha, I didn't realize that you were right behind me in line, and then you sat a couple seats behind me on the train! I was the one wearing the purple shirt carrying the field mic.

Nicely done, enjoyed it.
Thank you!
Cant imagine the last time two passenger trains were at union station at the same time. Probably quite a while
Was this the very first run of the new service that might explain all the people at the station.
Yes it was

Ha, Yes I saw you! I’ll for sure have to listen to the streets.mn podcast. I can already tell you ghat I’m a fan!
@@msptransit for sure say hi next time we cross paths! I'd love to meet you.
There is a song that goes "Don't forget Winona", except its Winnoa MN and not Winona AZ (or Wenonah NJ for that matter)
I would’ve thought it was Winona, MN.
The song is "Route 66", so it's definitely Winona, Arizona. Pretty sure the town is only mentioned because it rhymes with the state.
@@msptransit Thanks for posting this!
Ok why did the Saint Paul PD need officers with an AR on the platform?
Don’t know, was wondering the same thing.
@@stevesteffen7001 Probably because of crime statistics.
Oh lord I saw myself in this video haha
Awesome!
Nice video, though I do find that diction is a lost art.
Would you like more diction in the future?
If I hear fomer one one time I am going to throw my computer out the window
fomer
What’s with those useless face masks? Unaware that there is a Covid-19 outbreak in the Twin Cities.
I dunno, a mask might save you from my copious amounts of transgender.
It's the twin cities. Very woke. I live in MN. In a suburbs
