Theres a lot of huge details you completely left out. Like how Mofat sabotaged Capaldi's run because he kept writing romance with Clara which Capaldi refused to act out because of the age difference and Mofat was mad about that.

I remember signing up for a DW club and was SHOCKED to see that practically 3/4th said 12 was their favourite. Back in the day, everybody hated him, and acted like you're weird for liking him.

I got half way through the video but still no commentary or talking about whether the Master was ruined yet. Seems like a different video to the one promised, just a summary of what we already know happened.

i loved Capaldi era from first watch. I alwais go like "aaah the old soctor was the best, what's with this new one?" i Said this when 9 regenerated in 10 and then 10 in 11 but since i was already used to knowing that sensation, when Capaldi arrived i was "ok... i know i love the oldes one, give to this new doctor a chance..." and the 1st apparence wasnt very satisfying but from 2nd day and all the other it was a "crescendo" af immense delight! Capaldi become better and better each day and is still 1st on the top of my Doctors top 3 XD.

Another thing I have a problem with is the kind of Jokerisation of the Master. They always used to be a bit more moriarty-esc, more of a devilish tactician, but especially in Chibnals run it seems like his only aim is to kill or psychologically break the doctor.

I always thought he was beloved by most fans, I never knew this. Peter has always been my favourite.

Also the Daleks have only invaded modern earth since Doctor who came back we’ve never seen them on other worlds.

People always claim the actor was good and it was only the writing, but idk. I think the actor only captures one aspect of the doctor well; and that's when they are acting quirky. There are many other traits to the doctor, isolationist tendencies, sadness, attachment, seriousness, rage; and I think she fails at all of those. She really was not a good dr. I've never looked at her face and felt fear, or really any kind of emotion whatsoever. Other than either blank face, or "Oh I got an idea!". There is more acting in the face of the very last clip of this video than was ever portrayed by the 13th doctor.

In Empire of Death, The Doctor mentions that he helped depose Roger ap Gwilliam. So if he is the minister of war, then we'll probably not see it since it technically already happened. Although, with Moffat back writing episodes again, maybe he'll pick up on this in a future season.

I loved Matt. After his run, I stopped for some time. Didn't like the idea of an older doctor (yeah, I know he "started" as old). And then I started watching, and I think he was amazing! Amazing actor, and some amazing stories with him!

I watched this on Netflix back in middle school. It was okay. I probably wouldn't enjoy it very much now, but i wasn't a judgmental viewer back then. I was the type to look at things like spin-offs as both a connected show and a stand-alone. That way, even if a show was disappointing by the standards of the original, i may still be able to enjoy it. It didn't help too much with this show, but i got through the whole thing.

I don't really understand the dislikes for old Doctor. Like, it's The Doctor... My top 3 Doctors are the 12th, 3rd, and 1st.

I have always loved Peter's capaldi's doctor. It took longer to warm to Capaldi than Tennant and Smith was my doctor that came into the role in my formative years so he cught me the moment he said "legs". But by the time Clara and Capaldi had their scene in the Android Restaurant in Deep Breath, he had me. Heaven Sent is a masterpiece of an episode and i honestly believe it is the best episode of Doctor Who ever made.

I always loved Peter Capaldi's take on the Doctor. What made his turn at the helm objectionable was the writing (which has been the problem with the last three Doctors). Some brainiac decided to make Capaldi's Doctor sharp and unlikable, so that they could slowly soften him over time. Audiences HATED it, which makes sense since, if you don't like the Doctor THERE'S NO BLOODY REASON TO WATCH. What makes this doubly frustrating is that this was the exact same thing that they tried with Colin Baker - make him unlikable and soften him as they go. It got the original run of the show cancelled. Just plain stupidity in action. I also quite liked Jodie Whittacker's take on the Doctor, but her run's writing was even worse than Capaldi's, with several episodes feeling like they had been sourced from teenagers after watching episodes of Quantum Leap. And I have no idea who Gatwa's Doctor is. They are so busy making him a quantum level of gay that I can't tell anymore where the bad writing and bad directing end, and his performance starts. There have been a number of times where his scenes depended on emotional content and he was fantastic. So who knows. Rumor has it that RTD has fired him, so we'll see what happens.

For me, Peter Capaldi will always be the defining Dr. Arguably the strongest actor to ever embody the role, he imbued all the qualities and characteristics that makes Dr Who so compelling but it was his humanity that set him apart. Unfortunately for him, his stories were wildly inconsistent (some of the very best and worst New Who episodes) and he didn't have quite the same youth appeal as Tenant or Smith. Alas, the show is virtually unwatchable now.

I liked Capaldi as The Doctor from the first episode. He was great even though some of the scripts were weak (and 'Woke'), but he did a great job with what he had to work with. I can say Number 12 is my favorite Doctor.

Anyone who didn't like Peter Capaldi's era the first time around, don't know quality when they see it. And don't deserve to watch it, he was one of the best Doctors, even better than Tennant or smith, because he was not trying to be liked. He acted the pants off of all the new doctors. From Eccleson onwards.

Really? Chris was my favorite until Peter, but I can see how he'd be "hated" if many people had latched onto David or Matt instead.

I liked Capaldi. I did hate his disrespect for Danny Pink. But I realize that was intended. I liked the guitar. The episode where he was in the confession dial may be my favorite episode of all. And the episode where a _simulation_ of the Doctor beats the _real_ bad guys by calling the real Doctor ... that's just brilliant.

Can't believe I'm about to say this and I will only say it once...but thank you Chris chibnall for making your era of doctor who so bad it made me go back and watch capaldies run as the doctor,like many other people I didn't realise what I had missed out on

Always find it interesting how the 10th and 12th doctor (who are both tied as my favourite) sort of developed in reverse,the 10th doctor started out as much happier energetic figure who by the end of his run had completely broken down,the 12th doctor starts out much more unstable straight away and it takes him a long time to figure out who he but he's also probably the most stable he's been in a while at least near the end though he does freak out about his renegeration for a little bit so

I enjoyed Capaldi's Doctor. Jodie Whitakers Doctor showed how substantial of a drop the show could go. In contrast it is massive.

To be honest, I loved Capaldi from the beginning! I was mainly hooked by the fact that the 12th Doctor's flaws like his difficulty to express affection or his uncaring attitude were the first things we learned about this character. The previous three Doctors (haven't watched the classics back then) were written as likable first and complex second. Learning the Doctor's flaws before discovering his strengths was a bold move, but I thought this showed some confidence on the writer's part in their character design. Also, Peter Capaldi rocks no matter how stupid the storylines get. Another type of actor may have butchered this character but this man just seemed born to be the Doctor! I personally don't like rankings that much, but Capaldi's charisma would easily put the 12th Doctor at the top of mine. And, yeah, I didn't expext the sunglasses to stick either, but there is a point about their practicality. Even a Time Lord would see more of the precise measurements these things projected than though a flashing, noisy light...

Personally I loved Capaldi's Doctor. Even if you hated him he can't possibly be the most hated Doctor ever. Because - Jodie Whittaker and Ncuti Gatwa.

Jodi was the force awakens of Doctor Who. we didn't realize how good The prequels were, until we saw how bad it could get.

And I thought that "old school" Trekkies were obnoxious and childish... I loved this Doctor! He's one hell of an actor.

So basically… Jodie W was so bad that the second worst dr is good!!! What’s going to come of the current dr? Can Jodie be reframed as not the absolute worst? Or will the title remain?

I loved Capaldi from minute one, and only disliked the episodes "Kill the Moon" and "Sleep No More". Also liked Clara even if I missed the Ponds.

Capaldi was deinitely one of my favorite. Liked him from the beginning. He was in some ways the most human while being the most alien. He might feel himself different from his companions and always strived to understand humanity when in actuality, the way he acted and the way he felt was the most human of all. His compassion, his anger, his desire to protect, his jealousy, he portrayed so many different emotions. Furthermore, he really was the first I felt to fully show just how old the doctor was. He had wisdom from all his years, and a certain tiredness that made it feel like he just wanted to rest at times, but also knew he needed to keep going. I also loved his relationship with Clara as it did feel very father/daughter-esq which I thought worked better then the romantic connection between her and Smith. Smith and Coleman, while great, felt inorganic at times with the romance.

Everyone has an opinion but yours is flawed
