Definitely check out How To Disappear Completely, The National Anthem, Everything In Its Right Place, Morning Bell, and Motion Picture Soundtrack which are also on this album. I also recommend checking out some songs from The Smile, which is a new band formed by Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead, and Tom Skinner of Sons of Kemet. Some recommended songs of theirs are probably Teleharmonic, Friend Of A Friend, Bending Hectic, and Thin Thing.

Great song. That whole 4 track EP is so good. The songs really flow together…and all 4 are very strong songs…(no fillers) for that reason I’d recommend listening to all 4. It’s the last record that their amazing, original drummer, Gary Young features on. Gary passed away last year. Had the pleasure of seeing them play in June 1992 in London….only found out years later it had been their first ever gig in the UK.

This was definitely a stab at those early 2000’s bands(or at least some of them). Cursive had been around since 95, and not that concept albums were a new thing, but their album before this one(The Ugly Organ), Domestica, followed the ups and downs of a fictional couple; that was loosely based on the lead singer, Tim, getting divorced.

You don't get this song. First, are you strictly bound to only a certain time period? Pretty soon you will be in the "dated" camp yourself. The world's great music is not restricted to what is current. Good art is universal and timeless. Why do we still read Shakespeare and listen to Beethoven? You jump to the lyrics, and don't appreciate them, and never go past them. The words in themselves are not moving,. I t is when they are paired with this music that they come alive and convey emotions that have existed in male-female relationships forever. This is a struggling adolescent male gaining some awareness about how he is unfair to his girlfriend, and having it hit him how much he loves her and how much she accepts him. It his openness with his emotions and the yearning in his voice that are touching. He sees the double standard, which many males never come to do. The music is beautiful. Captures a lot of emotion. I did not hear one doo-wop, so why do you call it that? This is not surfing music. It's one of Brian Wilson's best.

I have been trying to do the singles when i request songs ones that are not so out there that you wont get any views for. The problem with that especially with July talk is that you'll miss some of the other amazing tracks.... I honestly am not 100 percent sure which album is my favorite i think it depends on my mood

The "heavy sh*t" comment I believe was about Angel, not Teardrop. Something interesting about this song, is that the vocal lines are not major or minor, Elizabeth sings in between semitones so it could be either, which gives the song a strange neutrality.

The melancholic passing of the torch, the last Joy Division song (demos existed) became the first new order track. The whole of the movement album is then building a new sound. It’s truly a beautiful track and a fitting swansong for Ian 😢
