I found out about them in 2016 when the Microsoft video game Forza horizon 3 came out. The game had radio stations that you could use and listen to music while you were driving around two of their songs were in the game and I immediately fell in love with their music. Since then, I’ve been there for every album and single releases and just saw them in concert in September of 2023. They’re now my favorite artist and the best artist I’ve ever seen live.

Not a big illenium fan but I won't deny his his ability to produce and perform at a high level. Only seen him once at edc 2019 not knowing what to expect and that set is still one of my favorites to this day.

If I want to become a dubstep dj where do I start?
Do you want to be a dubstep artist, or just a DJ who plays dubstep? If you want to be an artist, pick a DAW (ableton, reason, bitwig, FL studio, etc) and start watching RUclips videos to learn how to produce, then get really good at it by putting in the time. Once you can produce professional quality tracks, you'll need to learn how to promote your brand & music, but that won't come until much later after you've spent plenty of time becoming a great producer. If you want to be a DJ who plays other peoples dubstep tracks, get some decks and download a bunch of dubstep tracks and learn how to mix, then look for opportunities like playing at local bars, opening slots at local gigs (it will help if you form a relationship with the promoter), or you could even throw your own events.

First saw Rufus live at Decadence NYE event in Denver 2017. Never had seen an live act like them besides Odesza, they completely blew me away.
