That's crazy man. I used to listen to excision back in 2011 in Middle School. I downloaded a random dubstep album with a dinosaur on it. I thought it was sick as heck I got hooked on right away. now I'm an adult 26 of age. I've been to multiple excision festivals Bass canyon thunderdome going to my first Los lands this summer. just honestly crazy to me the effort and dedication that this guy has put into the scene
if it has a cool dinosaur on it or cool robot on it you allready know lmao. my first experience was some random show in philly with mt. eden. Then after that i went to some rave after party. I ended up going to warehouse parties more than anything and got to see the rise of Trap music there. I remember my first excision show which i believe when funk hole vip came out. Thats set had the best intro ever, had the crowd going fuckin nuts. my buddy seen him at the tla in philly when his xrated album was out. He litterally destroyed that venue, had the chandeller fall, ceiling tiles blasted, the big ass curtain fell lol. hes permanetly banned haha
These days, I’m usually more of a deep dub listener, but I will always ALWAYS go to excision if it fits in my schedule. The man has yet to disappoint me, and people that hate on him just like to hate popular things I’m convinced lmfao
As a Kelowna local and long time Excision fan, this was really vindicating to watch! This is the true history of North American Dubstep, and it never gets talked about. People don't realize that this shit evolved completely independent of Burial and the UK dubstep movement. So cool. Thank you!

HOW DARE YOU! depends what drugs you are on or personality. but i guarantee mate if you get a good system and play more 140/deeper/darker dubstep you wouldnt find it boring. bass vibrates the f out of you. theres good and bad in both genres. difference is the fan base older style dubstep = drum and bass, garage, dub, grime heads trench/tearout/riddim (riddim has a darker deeper side too, came from scotland, shiverz,ad etc) = metal/emo/rock/edm heads
I discovered Excision in 2011 when I heard his track Swagga playing at Burning Man.. He's one of my biggest musical influences. Though I have yet to have the pleasure of checking out Lost Lands, this year will be my fourth Bass Canyon and I'm incredibly stoked, as it's my all time favorite festival. Thank you for all you do on this channel. I've really been enjoying these documentaries on so many of my favorite artists. Keep up the great work!

Been out of the EDM scene for a while. However, every now and then I look back and recall the memories I have being on the rail at Excision shows and Lost Lands. My kids and I will BLAST Jeff’s music on the way to work and school. Excision is the GOAT. Love you, Jeff!
I probably wouldn't be listening to almost 100% bass music in one form or another without listening to excisions 2008 & 2009 shambhala mixes. 08-11 are 4 absolute classic mixes I can't imagine seeing them live. great video as always

Ill be at Bass Canyon 2024, my 4th time attending and I cannot fucking wait. This video was amazing and gave me a lot of background. I attended Bass Canyon in 2019 as my First. Show. Ever. (On a whim too while on vacation). And if it wasnt for Excision I likely wouldnt have found current day dubstep exciting for an even longer period of my life. I love this man, his contribution to the community cannot be overstated.
Man, shoutout to my childhood friend in NM that introduced me to excision. Led to me seeing Destroid in Toronto and that is by far the best dubstep show ive ever witnessed, insanity.
Excision's music was a vital part of my upbringing as young teen/adult and I'll always be grateful to him for that. I stopped listening during 2017 and switched primary genres from EDM to Hip Hop when the South Florida scene was popping off and Bass Music basically fell off for me, but not for lack of quality, just life. I've been re-listening to current EDM/Bass Music recently and I'm glad to see OG's like him are still keeping on! Excision, forever ❤

Excision is also playing 4 other festival this year with lostlands and bass canyon he is playing Elements Music Festival, EDCLV, Shambala Music festival and Electric Forest festival.
While not the biggest fan, Excision's and Downlink's "The Underground" will never leave my playlist. It's funny how a lot of the seemingly super level headed one's have the most outrageous sound.
Saw Excision again in Chicago in late December 2023 which was the first stop of his tour, insane visuals and lasers, not to mention the music was fire, I was shitting myself the whole time

I think it would be great if you could cover the duo Ivy Lab. They're one of my favorite artists and their style is so unique and they've produced songs in a quite a few genres. They're more commonly known for their halftime dnb and trappy style. Their recent album, Infinite Falling Ground is one of my favorite EDM albums of all-time and is on repeat a lot.
So I grew up a mere 300km from Excision and Datsik, And in 2008, I went to Kelowna for a BMX race where I saw the boys play in some rugged dank club. They were my introduction to all electronic music
