Elias did the best with who was available! He said on last night’s broadcast that a lot of the top pitchers weren’t available & you see they weren’t traded. Trevor Rogers was a previous allstar & got hurt so I believe he is still bouncing back. We have him till 2027 so I like the move.

Outside of Eflin these trades are ridiculous and totally questionable.

There's a part of Mike Elias that reminds me of former Skins GM Bobby Beatherd. He won Super Bowls with " good"....occasionally GREAT Quarterbacks in Theismann, Doug Williams, & Mark Rypien. Heck....add Jay Schroeder too since he co- starred with Williams one season. Whatever weaknesses those QBs had were made up by drafting team oriented support players,& tough...all pro linemen. Mike Elias adheres to a similar script as it pertains to pitchers. A penchant for taking them later in the draft,& taking low risk chances on " afterthoughts ". It's conceivable that a HOT Oriole batting lineup can carry sufficient....bend don't break pitching to a World Series with such a dangerous offense. Risky....but like Beathard, Elias has built up plenty of equity.

If Rogers was the best deal they could make then so be it. You knew how crazy the market was when you saw how much Astros gave up to get a rental like Kikuchi. Sure it's not a game changing move but it's still an upgrade.

Rogers is controllable but is he any good? As you said, the numbers have not been good and he wasn't even on your radar, which is very extensive. Second who is going to play right field next year, if the Orioles don't want to pay the huge sum Santander is going to demand. Stowers is a better fielder than anyone else. I agree that Kjerstad has tremendous potential, but having three good young outfielders is not a bad idea.

Does the Soto move mean that Coulombe won't return this season?

Throw in the towel amd don't watch. We have today to make trades and some hitters are picking it up. Defensively this is what happens when young guys like Gunnar and Adley don't get enough rest and hit the wall and press. Not to mention trying to play prospects and trying to win the WS. Injuries, lack of vet leadership, and hyde being exposed as an in game manager is the perfect storm.

Maybe Jackson Holliday will end up playing SS for this team after all, the infield defense has been pathetic. You can't keep giving extra out to big league teams, even a bad team like Jays will make you pay. I know the prices are steep but they better add another SP and a RP before 6 pm today. This team isn't going anywhere without more pitching. Maybe Kjerstad should be part of any deals made today before his stock drops.

Orioles are absolute trash. The manager is a clueless bafoon who does nothing well. He sucks. Adley sucks too. I cant remember tha last time he did anything worht remembering. Adley is easily the most overrated player in the MLB. Hus defesne has been shoddy too. He fails to cut down runners when they try stealing 2nd base. Its ridiculous.

Rupert believes every reliever should submit a dosier to Hyde as to what pitches they like to throw, what teams they prefer to face, what their pitch limit is and how many days they would like in between each appearance, and their Zodiac sign. Hyde could then produce a Venn Diagram to determine which reliever is potentially the most beneficial for any given situation. Maybe then, most of the blame for blowing leads or wins could be placed at the feet of the person that deserves it the most, the reliever.
