Timelapse of a 1998 KX125 being rebuilt
1998 KX125 getting the "Moto Scrub" treatment!
Bike was almost all original when it came in.
The 1-2-5 was stripped down and rebuilt using a mixture of OEM and aftermarket parts.
Engine got a new top end, suspension rebuilt, lots of custom purple anodized pieces throughout, tires, plastics, etc. and, of course, some vapor blasting here and there ;)

Back with more builds! 2002 KX250 that was purchased from the original owner as a non-running bike. He ran it bone stock until it gave out on him. It’s the early 2000’s, which 2 stroke are you racing??.... Or were you already on a 4 stroke?! Had the opportunity to film the bikes when they were together at the shop. The footage is a little dated as the 125’s weren’t “done” at the time of filming, keens eyes aware, but thought it was too cool not to get some pictures/film. Fantastic work! All hail the mighty 2 stroke
Vapor blasting is such an invaluable tool for restorations. The ability to get materials to a better than new finish, AND maintain the parts tolerances on precision surface, is such a time saver. Solvents were great when the good formulas were available, and ultrasonic cleaners are great when parts can fit in them, but vapor blasting/honing is the new king. What media do you use? Have you experimented at all with different medias?
Pro-Tip if you missed it - Soak your fiber plates in oil over night! They’re porous and need to suck up some oil. They’ll have perfect feel from lap one and will last longer 🤙🏻
Did you change the tank from the original 05, Scrub?
