- 2005 YZ125 getting fully broken down and rebuilt.
- Cleaned/ Vapor blasted where possible.
- New Top End install.
- Race Tech Gold Valve revalve/install.
- Updated look with 2020 Yamaha plastics.
- A lot of new OEM/aftermarket parts installed

My dream bike...
I just finished a VERY similar build on a 03 YZ250 Almost exactly the same. Upgraded plastics included. I'm yet to hit the trails with it. I powdered coated the frame, wheels, hubs etc. Hydro blasted everything, and gave it a much better graphics job.
She came out perfect dude, Great restoration/mechanic work!

the build was nice and well done but i would never change the way the older yzs look. silver rims and old style plastics are essentials on building 2 strokes for me. you just cant beat the way the bikes from the early 2000s looked
Bike can be made to be a 21.Nothing except cosmetic changes from 05 to 21

My neighbor has an 05 yz125. Mint still has original tires on it and very low hours. Always in the garage. I should of bought it when he said $2400. Now hes not selling. This is exactly what i would do to it. Your bike looks great

The bike in the video is an ‘05 with 2020 plastics. No issues 👍🏻

The bike was low hour and it was the first top end on the bike. Bottom end spec'd out so no need to replace. 👍🏻

Maintenance is key. If you're keeping up on basic maintenance like oil changes, air filter clean, and clean gas your bike should last a long time. Cheers!

Good catch! The OEM 2020 front fender and front number plate did not fit the 2005. They had to be replaced with restyle kits.

Did you have to adjust the holes? Or by changing the frame and tank is everything perfectly fitted?
If you have a 2005 and up YZ125/250 you will not have to modify any holes for the plastics. Just need a 2105 and up airbox. Good luck! 👍🏻

The 2020 plastics bolts right up no problem?
Not sure which year YZ you are asking about but for the 2005. The shroud bolts right up. The front fender did not line up with the 05 triple clamp so ended up getting a restyle front fender instead. Hope this helps!

What plastics kit is that? Looks like a oem rear fender
All plastics are OEM except the front fender. Had to use a restyle front fender as the bolt hole pattern is different on the newer models

When putting the motor together I use assembly lube throughout the engine. 👍🏻

It is OEM 2020 Yamaha, you should be able to purchase the plastics at any Yamaha dealership

2 stroke oil, what do you use?
Any reputable oil brand such as Maxima, Honda Oil and Yamalube are my personal choice but there are many other brands that you can use. This bike used VP gas which has oil already mixed in at 40:1.

They are just 2015+ YZ OEM plastics (2020 graphics). Front fender is a restyle fender as the hole placement is different than the 2014 and down.
