Nice bike. I had a 95 that I raced. The frame geometry on them wasn't that great, combined with the large tank in your way that didn't let you grab the bike with your legs far enough forward for a proper standing position. Still loved the bike, though. The round slide carb didn't make a ton of power, but good for off road. And the suspension needed lots of work. The best thing about the bike was the kickstand and the 18" rear wheel. And, oh yes, the wide ratio transmission. When your friends on their CR- and YZ250s were tapped in 5th, you wave bye bye, up shift to your wide 5th gear and leave them behind. Good thing the transmission gears fit right into the YZ 250 of the time too. heh heh.

That is so badass man, I just got a heck of a deal on a 96 WR250 and I’m so excited to rebuild it but I’m having trouble finding things like the crankshaft etc.. for this old of a bike. I can only find parts for 03 on up yah know? Please tell me where you got parts lol I seen most of the wrappers said Yamaha so I’d assume you got them directly from Yamaha?

THIS is is the look of an ACTUAL motoCROSS bike. Absolute beauty. I would like to things go back from this thing we are living nowdays, where THEY ASLL LOOK LIKE COPIES OF EACH OTHER like all the current KTM,husqvarna,Honda,TM et... :S i'ts sad, no one actually DESIGNS the bikes anymore it seems. all motocross bikes have the SAME straight, pointy rear fenders and also many use that ugly as hell "angular" front fender like ktm often has done... i dont even wanna get started with all the other esthetics n desings of other plastics & seat styles...

Yes this is the enduro / desert sled version of the YZ, thus the addition of the stabilizer and hand guards.
In california these bikes were used in desert hare scrambles and GPs. The East coast used these bikes for GNCC / Enduros.
They did not come with a headlight; however, it was an option from the factory.

      Someone knows their stuff! 🤘🏻🙌🏻
Yes, the WR was considered the enduro/desert bike here in the states and many people used them for desert races.
