    I saw this when it came out. It was a completely inferior copy of the original. The characters were flat, both in performance and writing, including the female lead who gets to escape. It's not a horrible film, but adds virtually nothing to the franchise. 'Aliens' is one of the best sequels because it adds and grows the story. This one, other than a few tiny elements, adds nothing. There was a comic book series that continued the OG story, while not great, it was better than this. The 2002 Videogame actually had some merit as well, though again, too much retread. But truth to tell- This Alien is SO ungodly dangerous and powerful that it actually limits the kinds of stories that can be told severely. If a creature like this ever got to even a small town, it would be over for humanity in a few years.

    The John Wick series is fantastic and the fight scenes are some of the best in the business. The only thing that brings the films down for me is the flat-out superhuman endurance John Wick has. The damage he takes and his ability to keep going is straight out of the worst excesses of 1980's action films. It's my appreciation for how good the films are in general that makes me wish they had found a less absurd way to handle that situation.

    'This one is a complete psycho' as we all can be, if the right circumstances come around. From 2004-2008, I worked PC Tech support with an older guy, who had served in Vietnam. He was friendly and nice, but not creepily so. He was something of a braggart, but funny. After a couple years of working together, we got around to talking about his experience in Vietnam. Without any feigned regret, he told me he loved it there, because he could kill people and get away with it. Nothing about this guy's behavior indicated any kind of 'Mental illness'. He was a regular guy who just happened to find himself in a situation where he could revel in his darkest impulses. Anyone who thinks they DON'T have such darkness is lying to themselves.

    I will never forgive the US Government (and of course all other modern nations doing the same thing) that take the desire of someone to 'give back' and serve their country, that take that loyalty and treat it like a cheap streetwalker. The Dehumanizing Programs they have worked on so carefully for over 100 years are bad enough. Support our Troops- Put a Poliltician on the Front Lines.

  • @torikazuki8701
    @torikazuki8701 14 дней назад

    Something to remember, though just by sheer repetition, we call it 'The Vietnam War', but it was classified officially as a 'Police Action', so that our Government didn't HAVE to deal with the hassle of actually declaring war. So inconvenient that is for the State, obeying the laws they made. The same thing was done wth Korea and most recently with the 'Second' Iraqi War. In 1991 war WAS actually declared, but not in 2002. It's not surprising, but still depressing that people get propagandized so damn easily.

    In 1993, at the age of 22, in college, I and another guy friend were observing two girls playing with a Ouija Board. They summoned a Spirit and as it was answering their questions (pretending to be the ghost of a dead human), I became angry at the deception. Humans, when we die, have no interaction with the normal world, except under extremely rare circumstances. As my anger grew, the board's responses became jumbled and confused, when one of the Girls suddenly asked, 'Is there something in the room that's bothering you?' With no hesitation, it spelled out my first name. I then had an experience that only took a second externally, but much longer internally. In life, this creature had been a literal Giant. ('Demons' are the spirits of dead hybrids. Fallen Angels are different beings entirely.) It was stronger, smarter and more cunning than a human ever COULD be and it was filled with a tremendous malice and hatred of humanity. It was terrifying and I felt like a Bug on a Pin. I had been a Christian for 2 years at that point and God's Word tells us that when we repent of our Crimes and ask Jesus Christ to save us, to be our King and Redeemer, we are told that we will be 'Sealed' with the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit of God comes to dwell in us, literally live in us. At the height of my fear, the Holy Spirit emerged and immediately made the Demon powerless. I told Jesus that if my life was required to defeat this Spirit, I would gladly give it. Instead, I felt an arm drape across my shoulders and turn me away from the confrontation. The next thing I know, I'm driving through the nighttime streets of the college town I was in. The Girls had a scary event, where the Spirit Ranted about how the Girls were 'Supposed to be his', that they were 'promised' to him, and then he was banished. The Film Stylizes many things and 'Sexes it up', but make no mistake, Spirits and Possession is very real. However, having been made by Secular Hollywood, they downplayed the role God Almghty plays in this. Under his own power, the Priest would have been helpless to do anything. Also, as Christians, being as I said, Sealed with the Holy Spirit, while we can be oppressed and tormented, we CANNOT be possessed, so the Spirit would never have been able to 'take him' as shown in the film.

    It's interesting to compare Robocop with a Terminator (T-800). They are both cyborgs, but from opposite ends. The Terminator is a Machine with Organic Parts, while Robocop is an Organic with Machine parts. A fight between the two would be interesting, though of course we have no hard data on which mechanisms are stronger, nor which computer systems are more capable.

  • @torikazuki8701
    @torikazuki8701 14 дней назад

    Something a lot of younger American viewers probably don't appreciate, is that the way the Cops act, their Gear and Pseudo-Military bearing was, in 1987 an EXAGGERATION of the standard cop. Now, there is very little difference. A friend of mine was a police officer near the city I grew up in for 25 years, and saw the militarization of the police happen in real-time.

    You don't need 'Official' Religion to manipulate and lead people astray. The 20th Century and our Modern Era are proof of that. EVERYONE has a Person, a Thing or an Idea that for all practical purposes, is what they worship. We all have a hole in us that we all try to fill with whatever we think will fit. This film was a magnificent production and it wasn't until the late 90's that it started to get the respect it deserved. Moreso the soundtrack, one of the best film scores ever made, but sadly, Basil Pouledouris had passed away by the time it was recognized as such. Stories like this are deeply hated by our Maximum Leaders. While it is obviously fiction, it touches on elements deeply rooted in the human heart and encourages an endurance, strength of will and resistance to manipulation & lies (especially for Men) that modern culture would prefer just became a thing of the past.

    While I am not advocatnig the offing of Women and Children (or ANYONE, if it can at all be helped.) It angers me that Feminism among its myraid lies, gets Women to think that 'They don't need no Man' and could stand toe-to-toe with Men in situations like this. It's a foolish idea and incredibly dangerous. The real number of Women who could is incredibly small.

    This film is fantastic (and completely horrifying), however, it's not believable even AFTER learning that it can imitate humans, that they spent so much time alone. Regardless of how inconvenient it was, they should have stayed together either as a whole, or two large groups, PERIOD.

    In terms of the amount of Aliens there were, remember, we were told there were 157 colonists. There's no way the Aliens got them all, we know that for a fact. I would be surprised if there were even 100 Aliens, that alone would be a spectacular 'capture' amount. It's impossible to get an accurate Kill Count, but I have often wondered over the decades if more than 100 were killed on-screen. Cameron wanted Endless Waves, but logic would mandate there couldn't have been, especially after the multiple dozens that we knew had been killed.

    This reaction was 2 years ago, so obviously if you watched 'Aliens 3' that's already been done. While it's not a bad film in its own right, by offing major characters at the start, it GUTS the heart out of this film. I'd like to say- 'Who EVER THOUGHT that was a smart decision?' But amazingly, stupider choices have been made in film history. Mostly at the hands of Movie Execs, a job where you get paid more for failure and having stupid ideas more than nearly anyone else. The tragedy is increased, because Dark Horse Comics got the rights to continue the story after 'Aliens', and their ideas were VASTLY better than 'Alien 3', by an order of magnitude. They did the same thing this film did, using the elements, but taking it in a logical path without just being a retread. It wasn't perfect, but again, vastly better. FOX not using those story ideas was one of the biggest tragedies for the film franchise. It was ruined because of that.

  • @torikazuki8701
    @torikazuki8701 16 дней назад

    This was an amzing movie and one of the best sequels of all time, no question. However, Cameron's insistence that there be a new surprise (The Alien Queen) does violate the original lore (The Aliens were NOT natural creatures, they were engineered.) and it creates some story issues. During Ripley's Deposition, she mentions that Kane said he saw thousands of Eggs on the Alien Ship. That is ALL she knew. Yet when on the planet, in the command center, she asks- 'Who's Laying These Eggs?' Why would she think that? The only logical conclusion is that the Aliens had brought the eggs FROM the alien ship. It doesn't break the film, but the entire addition was a kind of 'Harbinger' of things to come, where logic was dumped in favor of Boomy Flashy Effects. Logic? Who cares? As long as it looks cool!

    This is an amazing film, don't think I don't agree wtih that. However it has two MAJOR problems- 1.) The Ability of the Alien to go from a Tiny Snake-thing to a creature bigger than a normal man (7ish ft), in a few hours, pushes the laws of physics to the brreaking point. It may as well be Magic. 2.) Parker deciding he doesn't want to live anymore and not flaming the Alien because Lambert is in the line of fire is so monumentally stupid, it was clearly forced only for the purpose of the 'sole survivor' plot. Nothing ever shown of Parker's character indicated he was that much of a moron. In a lesser film, these nonsense events would have obliterated my enjoyment of it. It's a credit to the rest of the film that these things are able to be overlooked.

    There was a sequel released a couple years afterward, "Conan the Conqueror." It did well. For years there was talk of Arnold doing more Conan movies but by that time the Terminator movie came out and then all the other Schwarzenegger action films, so there was never a third movie. Some years ago there was talk of making another movie with Arnold playing an aging Conan after he seized the throne of Aquilonia, the biggest kingdom in Robert E. Howard's basic storyline but it never went anywhere. In the outline of Conan's life he does become a king "by his own hand" as is said. In his elder years after the death of his queen, he abdicated in favor of his son Conn, and went into the west. Several authors extended the novels, notably Lin Carter and L. Sprague deCamp based on snippets and fragments Howard left. He only wrote two novels and a few short stories and died by suicide at the age of 30.

    In the theatrical release, all the scenes at the end that show the Princess were cut. The last time she appeared in the original release was at the end of the battle scene where Subatai intercepted the arrow Doom shot at her. And the scene where Conan and Subatai talked about the wind and spring...that was cut too. I assume you're watching a directors cut released years after the movie first debuted.

    33:29 IMO the reason why he ran. Was he couldn't describe or understand what he was feeling of Jenny leaving him. The only way he could express it, was to run. And he kinda figured that out, when he remembered what his mom told him about the past. Thats the way I look at it.

    Talk about writing: during the yearsof the "studio system," it was not unusual for a script to be developed and polished over a span of months maybe as long as a year. After filming, editing too, a few weeks. Now a script is worked on for 15 minutes and editing takes a year.

    Good Afternoon. Although set in Maine, the prison used was the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio. The large main building and Cell Block 1 are now a Museum. They offer tours, can be used for special occasions, and offer overnight cell accommodations for the brave. ( haunted ) The street scenes were primarily N. Main St where the shop owners agreed to have their stores redone to fit the time period. Many still look the same. The halfway house is the Bis sman Building, and still looks the same today. The store was the E and B Market on 4th Street which has been torn down. I was fortunate to be an extra con in the yard scenes. The premiere was held at Mansfield's Renaissance Theatre, a restored 1929 movie palace, before New York and Los Angeles.. I also volunteered working the restoration. The prison was also used in the movie "Tango & Cash", and was the Russian cell block in "Airforce One". An interesting side note: In the bad winters, crows from 7 or 8 counties move into Mansfield by the hundreds due to large granaries between town and the prison. Brook's crow was a natural. I am 75 now with Parkinson's and don't get to attend movies. I enjoy the reaction videos on RUclips.

    Great reaction! You expressed how I first felt when I saw it. It makes you feel crazy, and there are no answers to your questions. The music is by a Polish composer named Krystov Penderecki. Shelly Duval had a breakdown after the movie because she had to live in such a state of terror for so long.

    One theory, somewhat proven, at a certain part in the movie, we are seeing the novel that Jack wrote, while they were at the hotel.....there are indicative easter eggs through out the movie, to coincide with the theory.....If I can find the youtube clip, I will forward it to you. Please watch Carrie, from 1976

    If Jenny had not been running away from her past abuse Forrest would not have had his successes in his life. Forrest's letters would not have gotten to Jenny because she was wandering around the U.S.. Jenny could not have told Forrest about the child because he was running for over 3 years. Recall that back in that day if a person was not at an address the letter was "Return to Sender". There were no cell phones. Watch the movie over and over to really appreciate it all.

    As a country girl who played survival games as a kid, I know what to do to the best of my ability & how to make makeshift equipment for certain scenarios. Whether I would survive or not, I don’t know but with what I know, I would be able to hold out for a decent amount of time & those in my immediate company/ group I’m in. My family & I came up with contingency plans for just about any scenario we could think of if we were in a group or by ourselves & where to look for each other if we became separated. Hopefully those skills won’t be needed but it’s better to have the skills & not need them than to need them but not have them. Wishing all the best to everyone here & all your loved ones ❤️🙌🙏
