    Both private and public schools have they pros and cons, but at the end it comes down to teachers, who are willing to sacrifice their patience, time and passion for the needs of the children. By putting their best effort to see results and changes in the life of these children. It's all about having the right teachers at the schools. I would choose the private settings to mold, care, and nurture for special needs children.

    For anyone doubting the diagnosis, a specialist (not your GP) can diagnose the likelihood of an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) using standardized assessment measures as young as 18 months. Actually, and parents need to be aware, the diagnosis means that the child is more likely than not of going on to be tested on the after the age of 3. These tests before 3 have between a 77% and 82% ‘accuracy’ which also means they can be wrong in 18% to 23% of the children tested very early. Under 3 years old it should NOT be a confirmed diagnosis, but rather an expert prediction that ASD may be present.

    My son has level 3 autism I would say his early signs were: lack of interest in toys, repetitive odd behavior of trying to find all my hairs that had fallen out onto the ground and gathering them up and sniffing them, unable to learn to eat food or drink from a bottle (didn't eat food until 20 months), lack of learning words or learning and then "forgetting", not much eye contact, no pointing.

      @thatdailymama the brains are elastic !!! Everytime you think, learn or do something in time-place-space it changes into a new configuration. Yes the brains are complex and require to use their natural senses. So yes.... it is already known !!!! The only thing funny in my opinion is you!!!!! And, for your information, your children may not pass as Autiatic in most of the world.... I have autism in my extended family, and idiots in Americas try to label kids on the spectrum when they shouldn't be !!!!!! If you stay in doors too much, your children's senses are being shot !!! Its that simple..... they need to spend time outside and to excercise their motor skills. And stop eating foods with nervous system buszing chemicals like red dye and others.... maybe it's time to properly educate yourself. Instead of pretending to be above every one else by trying to be an arrogant democratic style "social label"!!!!

      @thatdailymama and, I have a brain surgeon in my family...... and a few scientists.... I am also a scientist in electrical engineering.... some idiots , especially these deplorable doctors in Americas try to label people on the autism spectrum with asperges.. but realistically the children need better parents !!!!! Home cooked meals, outside time and quiet living arrangements... not lazy jerks like in Americas !!!! Can't even make kraft dinner properly !!!! Over 20% of children's food is loaded with nervous system irritants also... !!!!!!! Maybe it's time to go educate yourself a little more... and the autism spectrum disorder that these idiots scientists try to make up is not agreed by over 90% of the world... it is sponsored by the medical industry .

    • @empsirch7983
      @empsirch7983 11 дней назад

      @thatdailymama and, all kids don't need to be sport jokeys.... most Americas have been brainwashed by America socialists trying to destroy the family unit.. again brains are elastic and can be re configured quickly.

    • @empsirch7983
      @empsirch7983 11 дней назад

      @thatdailymama the brains are able to read the outside environment... temperature, attitude, air quality, etc.... list is kong... by going outside in nature, the brains are being used properly ... asperges kids, have sensory issues that eventually impaired their social skills... but they are excellent at otherss,,, like being outside

    Since you recorded this, the movie, Spellers, has become available to stream for free on RUclips. Can you update your video or mention this on here so people realize that access is free? It would be great to provide a link too. Well before Spellers came out, I attended a webinar where a bunch of spellers introduced themself and answered questions about this communication method. (I'm thinking this was during the pandemic which is why it was on Zoom.) I was also present in person when one of the young men in the Spellers movie did a presentation and Q&A. This is a young man that I met when he was in MS and this presentation occured when he was ~22 years old. I was aware of the controversy with Facilitated Communication and looked to see if anything was going on like I remembered from the videos I had seen where the conclusion was that the facilitator was spelling and not simply facilitating. From what I could tell, this was the real deal. This speller has since moved to a stand-held keyboard and independent typing. I view the process of a non-speaker using a letterboard as something that happens in stages - much like a typical child who is learning to walk with 1st standing with support then standing w/o support then walking with support and finally walking without support. You also mention about autism being a motor issue. I feel there are elements of that which co-occur with autism. I am the parent of an adult who has autism. They had delays with motor planning - subtle delays. Research has shown that neural pruning that typically occurs at 18 months doesn't happen in children diagnosed as having autism. It makes sense that extra brain connections might get in the way of these individuals developing motor skills the same way that typical individuals do. My feeling is that the statement that ASHA and other agencies have saying that all Facilitated Communication is the facilitator's words is incorrect. There are people who use this method where it is the disabled individuals words - they are just at a stage where they need support much like the child who is still learning to walk. There will always be scammers out there who take advantage of vulnerable people. It seems to me that ASHA's statement is based on these scammers where they stole from families or accused them of the unthinkable. My feeling is that ASHA's statement gets in the way of individuals who could benefit from using this type of AAC. I agree that there needs to be caution in accepting what a person using this to communicate is saying. Some evidence I'm aware of is a young man asking for a bike and having less meltdowns after getting one. Same thing with requesting meals using a letterboard. It could be a coincidence and a lucky guess or it could be this person was actually conveying their thought to their caregivers. This method opens up a wider vocabulary for these individuals to use that other AAC does not. It needs to be an option.
