  • Autism meltdowns happen. It's a tough part of non verbal autism because so many of them could be avoided if she had better ways to communicate. Thankfully she was in a safe space amongst people who get it. Bad days are just bad days not a bad life. Hopefully tomorrow is better!
By sharing our experiences, we hope to create awareness, understanding, and support for families navigating the unique challenges and joys of raising a child with autism. Join us as we celebrate the small victories, learn from the obstacles, and cherish the beauty of progress in our daughter's incredible journey towards communication and self-expression.
Whether you're a parent of a child with autism, a caregiver, or someone seeking to learn more about this remarkable community, this vlog is an opportunity to connect, inspire, and foster a sense of unity in our collective pursuit of inclusivity and acceptance.

As an autistic person thank you so much for not recording and posting a video of your daughter during her meltdown.

We do all in-home therapy. It’s sooooo much easier!!!! Autumn has had in-home therapy since she was 3 months old. BEST.THING.EVER!!!!

We have some in home but aren’t getting many hours so it’s not working out that well. I’m hoping when our funding comes up for renewal we can get more in home. It also felt like more work for me to drag her there and then have to deal with transition meltdowns when she is more comfy at home. I don’t know they make it all so complicated

OMG meltdowns are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo baaaaaaaaaad. I dread getting a job because they aren’t going to hire a man who has meltdowns over the slightest things.

My now adult son used tp drag me by the hand and put my hand on what he wanted. I have read that this is very common for autistic kids.
As he started talking more, he didn't do this so much. Maybe Leah would be able to use a tablet augmentive communication device. When my son was little, there were no electronic devices, so he used a picture book using Mayer Johnson picture communication pics.

Leah is really big on the hand leading for sure. It is great that she has it but it’s a lot and also can be so repetitive. We would LOVE for her to get an AAC and she has been trialing one at her program. It’s hard for her still since she’s young and developmentally even younger but we are hopeful :) she also used those picture visuals and we have had some success with them!

@@thatdailymama While you comply andgo where she drags you, she has no insentive to speak whatsoever. The training cup is her hand is for 8month olds, and needs to be immediately taken away. If this big girl wants to drink, she will have not say "drink" and then be allowed to take a normal glass (made of glass!) glass of water from the kitchen top, prepared for her. Your parenting style makes my hair stand on end... You seem to be doing everything opposite to raising a fully functional human... Sorry. You need to wake up!

I want to help you. Your videos make me cry. You really need help with parenting, it is a skill that you seem to not possess at the moment, the little girl will have no chance. Please accept help and advice, please don't get offended. You are doing things that are very wrong for he wellbeing. Please do not get defensive. It is very sad.
