    Is the WG3526-P mode b passive POE 48V? What wires get the power? Is it Gigabit passive POE 48VDC on pin's 4,5 for 48VDC feed and 7,8 for negative return? I have all the settings right in the software as data pores out the WAN port with the barrel jack plugged in but as soon as you put the POE brick that I got threw the wireless haven into the mix, no data out of the brick. Only with the POE brick and it has done that since the day I got the brick. I assumed that I did something wrong but then I noticed in your video that you did not use the POE brick to confirm your work and started looking into it I started to figure some stuff out. The pinout I am still looking for and may have figured it out. Will let you know what I figure out, I will figure it out, just takes time and info!

    Came for the ethernet specs which were unfortunately missing from the product site. TL;DR: 4(-5) x 100 MBit/s - sadly no GBit/s, so potentially bottlenecked by Ethernet.

    Also, how far are you from the T-Mobile tower? I am 3.5 to 4 miles away and want to get an outdoor antenna to boost signal.

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven Месяц назад

      In this case I am about 4 miles from the tower I believe. There is a tower about .2 miles away, across the highway to the left, but I don't think that tmobile is on that tower, hence the signal levels.

    • @PNXWorld
      @PNXWorld Месяц назад

      @wirelesshaven okay! Do you have a direct line of sight of the tower that's 4 miles away, and are there multiple buildings/trees in the way? Your answer depends on if i'm gonna get the waveform pro antenna.

      I am located between two T-Mobile towers: one 4 miles to the west and the other 3.5 miles to the east. I've tested the T-Mobile router outside, and it always connects to the east tower. Inside the house, the signal is weak, but the speeds are good (40 to 180 Mbps download and 2 to 10 Mbps upload). I want to strengthen the signal using an outdoor antenna. However, there are many trees around, and I don’t have a clear line of sight to either tower. Do you have any recommendations?

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 29 дней назад

      @@PNXWorld Generally speaking, the flat panel directional antenna design is universally good at the type scenario you are in. It is not a one size fits all, but it does fairly well in areas where trees are the barrier between you and the cell tower. I prefer a PoE outdoor enclosure solution to eliminate the antenna cabling losses myself, paired with a flat panel directional antenna. BUT if you would rather not, then the best quality cables you can afford (LMR400 usually) and as short as possible is the best way to go.

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven Месяц назад

      Could be a few issues there. 1: PoE injector is damaged and simply itself isn't passing data. 2: The Router WAN port is damaged, and isn't allow data passage. 3: The configuration seems right but possibly has one small thing off. 4: The firmware has a memory fault in jsut a way that is causing odd issues like this and needs a brute firmware reflash via recovery mode. I'll test fresh on one here and email you.

    I am looking at mounting this to a pole that is mounted to a Travel Trailer ladder. How well will this hold up in motion and since I don't have an earth ground does that pose an issue. I will be able to raise and lower the pole but this may still stick up above the roof while in motion.

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 2 месяца назад

      Honestly I have not done this. It is pretty tough, but I'm not sure based on it's size you would want it facing high winds. It may be best to pull one of the mount joint pins and bring it down for travel. Grounding likely isn't an issue on mobile RV setups, but wouldn't hurt to have. Signal wise, it is not an issue.

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 2 месяца назад

      The case is fully IP67 sealed. There is a lot of internal air space and the InvisaGig has a fan built in to push air across the modem heatsink and out into the enclosure airspace. That then is dissipated via the finned back of the case. I've run these the enclosures in Houston, TX summers. Keeping an eye on the heat levels is always important, and when heat gets to record levels, or if you are in areas like Arizona, you would like be best to shade the antenna from direct sunlight. It is also possible to add a 12VDC barrel plug adapter inline and sort of piggyback the 12VDC to another fan. You can also add vents like these: store.thewirelesshaven.com/products/wifix-outdoor-enclosure-vent if you wanted.

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 2 месяца назад

      I use Tmobile here, but ATT works just as fast, and in some places faster. It 100% depends on the tower you are connected to, and they are all different in experience for so many people. In short, you have to test them and find the best for you. In general it seems T-mobile is pushing the boundries for high level, non-mmWave, 5G speeds in more locations. Their business unlimited is the most no fuss plan. The Home Internet plan is simple and most can get it. There are others that work too of course. When it comes to truly mobile applications, it really depends on where you are travelling and what coverages they have there. Having more than one carrier really is the universal tool.

    Please clarify when to insert the home internet sim card for the first time. Toward the start of the video and after entering the password for the first time, I thought the video implies may insert the real sim card at that point? I think that's if we let the invisagig automatically configure the real sim card; I thought of the same thing if we chose the internet provider from the invisagig's list. But toward the end of the video after configuring it through "Generic w/ manual APN" and it showed "status: cannot reach the internet", it was mentioned "swap the sim card and insert the real one" - does the word swap means remove a fake sim card from the invisagig and then insert the real sim card? When is the real sim card supposed to be inserted into the invisagig modem? What specific procedures to follow with different circumstances as if trying to go with 1) Allow modem to auto select carrier profile, OR 2) Manually select carrier profile which presents different circumstances by either going with 1) Generic w/ manual APN or pick tfrom 2) through 17) the carrier name on the listed names of providers. Do we suppose to remove the real sim card every time before we start trying each one of these circumstances and when do we insert said sim card into the invisagig again?

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 3 месяца назад

      Nothing that complicated. This is a general how-to, using a few examples to represent all possible SIMs. It doesn't matter when the SIM is inserted as far as settings are conecerned, as long as you reboot the modem after you set the appropriate settings AND the SIM is inserted. Reboot last. My personal method: Power up, no sim, set settings for that sim and plan, insert sim, reboot. It really isn't that particular. As long as you reboot the modem AFTER you both have entered all your settings AND the sim is inserted.

    Not convinced or excited. Besides the case of VVS you have with the filming (google it). You are testing too many variables, indoor with stock antennas then straight to outdoor chinese looking antenna and questionable coax. Put the modem on the tri-pod and test. Even better, get a laptop that doesn't use a USB (software) NIC and drop the "Router".

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 5 месяцев назад

      The test is a practical upgrade comparison. Comparing no outdoor antenna and the modem indoors, as almost everyone will have it when they first purchase a modem, to adding the outdoor antenna to their indoor modem. Something a LOT of people do. Comparing them with the modem outdoors on the tripod is not a real world use case, and does very little for the real user; the people who would buy something like this and use it. To try to make it even close to equal-ish, we would have to either eliminate the cables on the antenna (not a real world use case example) or put the paddle antennas on 20 feet of LMR cabling (again, not real world practical use case). Testing NOT through a router does nothing for the signal or speeds in any relevance, and again is not a real world use case for almost every user. We're not doing a scientific study here, we're providing value for anyone who would potentially upgrade antennas. Whether they purchase from us or someone else, the example is the same. That said, I am planning on doing it anyway: with the modem right next to the antenna and no extra cables between, versus just the omni antennas on similar length pigtail cables. Simply to show those who have asked about it. Keep an eye out for it. :)

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 5 месяцев назад

      It's in the works. :) BUT... Remember, unless you planned on installing your InvisaGig with it's stock antennas (or other modem containing device) outside (like in a large plastic enclosure) in the EXACT same spot as the intended antenna location, it's not really a completely equal comparison by real world use case. Upgrading the antenna to outdoors and connecting it back to the indoor modem unit, versus having the modem with its' stock antennas completely indoors is the common upgrade path; making it more of a realistic comparison to real world installation use cases. You COULD put your InvisaGig on a pole, but it may not last long ;) .... unless of course you use an enclosure like this: thewirelesshaven.com/shop/enclosures/outdoor-enclosures/wifix-large-router-pcb-enclosure-kit/

I have it loosely mounted inside my truck on top bunk. I was skeptical at first. I'm a believer now.

      Richard is the Invisagig available with the x65 modem?

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 6 месяцев назад

      Only as a paid beta (same price as the normal one) until the x65 modems that everyone is buying get FCC approved. You have to request it at checkout in the order notes. The FCC has not approved, or been applied to, for the RM521F modem; so far. They are all engineering samples, and we wont sell them without our customers knowing that is what they are buying. Slick units.

    is there a particular order on the antenna connections on the back using 4 yagi directionals (I just see 4g/5g on 2 of them and 5g on the other 2)

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 6 месяцев назад

      These are usually paired together on the WG1608. Two on the left one pair and the two on the right for the other. For LPDAs I would simply stack them at alternating 45 degree angles. Hopefully spaced about a foot apart if possible.

    Do ya'll plan on carrying the NEXPRO 5G with the newer X65 modem in them? Would love to see more videos on them. Seem all you do now is antennas invigagig

      Once the x65 that everyone is pushing right now is FCC approved we will likely offer it, until then we are testing and developing.

    Do these SMA pigtails act as small antennas of sorts? Meaning is it safe to turn on and test the modem / router with just the pigtails connected, before connecting actual antennas. Thanks.

    Beautiful box Richard. Good Vid. I have a question. In the middle of the summer in Pheonix the temp inside of this box will be sky high. Very sky high. Will the modem be able to withstand the temps? Have you actually tested it at those temps for extended durations? Thx

      This particular one, no. Other smaller units have been used by customers in the arid desert regions and have confirmed that it is best to shade the unit from direct sunlight to reduce the extremity of the heat on the unit itself. I don't expect it to have issues as long as it is shaded, but it is very hard to say without a long term test.

    I am considering buying the invisagig. What is your estimate for when the new x65 will be available?

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 6 месяцев назад

      Currently there seems to be no push to get FCC approval, from the manufacturers of the modem chips, on the current x65 offerings people are seeing on the market currently. Overseas vendors of the modem modules seem to not care about this, but we have to. We have seamlessly working InvisaGig beta units with x65, but until FCC approval comes, we can't release it; legally. We are actually hoping to see some traction on this around summertime, maybe. As more and more band combinations are capable, the cost to FCC and carrier approve devices goes up higher and higher; making the time to get approvals take longer and longer.

    How to find the slowest band(s)? Try and error?

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 6 месяцев назад

      Correct. Slowest and fastest, all trial and error. This is because no two cell tower is exactly the same and the only way to truly know is to test it there at your location.

    What type of modem and firmware are being used in these? I bought my last modem and case from ya'll and may be needing to replace

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven 6 месяцев назад

      It uses a customized 5G modem firmware that is exclusive to the InvisaGig. Based on the Quectel RM520N-GL currently. It is made to use with any router/wifi system you'd like, not just openWRT routers.
