  • This is how easy it is to get the efficient Wireguard VPN protocol working on our WiFiX NEX routers using VPN services from Torguard, and be able to use the VPN with Live Streaming TV.
You get the benefit of encrypted internet use, and without being blocked by streaming TV and Video providers*.
For Torguard Anonymous VPN + Streaming TV services at 50% off FOR LIFE, use our discount code: HAVENPROXY
ATTN the code above is a new updated code. If the link below does not auto apply the code or the correct code, make sure to change it to "HAVENPROXY", without the quotes.

For the exact router in the video: thewirelesshav...
We ship our router bundles individually updated and tested, pretty much ready to use out of the box. Just setup for your carrier SIM card, and set your passwords.
Even better, you can upgrade the modem later if you want, and add outdoor antennas very easily.
Important Note: All WiFiX NEX router firmware uses the same setup method, and will work the exact same way, so you don't have to get the one linked if you want something even faster, or with a lower budget.
*Streaming Video providers will always try to block these things, so we may need to find new ways to get around it. For now, as of posting this video, this works as shown in the video.

Literally minutes into this, but this has been so easy. The web pages on torguard have changed a little since this was recorded, but the basics are still the same.

RUclips is just a Wee Bit better - T-Mobile 5G - 2.4 Mbps -> 64 Mbps through TorGuard's Wireguard VPN (raises middle finger to All cellular providers...).
Oh, and AT&T wouldn't even Allow an "unlocked" device to connect to their 5G network, so I took my $400 / Month to T-Mobile (raises middle finger Even Higher to AT&T).

In a VPN app or browser extension you're able to exclude certain sites from using the VPN due to detection by some video streaming services. Can you exclude a list of sites when running he VPN in a router?
Also, is it possible to use a simple proxy instead of a full blown VPN in the router? I don't need to encrypt my data, just show a different IP via a proxy.

      Hey Bill!
Honestly I've never tried. I believe you can do split tunneling by device client on the local network, but not sure about site domains. I'll have to check.
Usually for VPNs I prefer running them on the device that needs it, versus on the router. BUT some like to do all traffic, so this applies here.
Torguard has apps that work pretty well so far in my use cases.

@@wirelesshaven - Actually found a post about bypassing/excluding certain sites from going through the VPN on your forum (search "wireguard bypass").
But Is it possible to use a simple proxy instead of a full blown VPN in the router? I don't need to encrypt my data, just show a different IP via a proxy.

WOW thanks for the in depth video Richard. Is it pretty much the same steps on the Cudy LT 18 also? I’m out of town and don’t have it here with me.

      Hey Russ, Thanks!
I haven't tested it on the Cudy, yet. I prefer the NEX routers ;)

How does this affect the speed of your internet?

    • @jameseazor8388

      And ping times?

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven  2 года назад +1

@@jameseazor8388 Ping times might be higher due to the extra traffic hops.

Speeds, in my tests, were nearly the same. The general rule of wireguard VPN processing is about 90% of the original speed capability is lost to encryption overhead. Not really a hard and fast rule, just my own gauge.

@@wirelesshaven I use a PS4 mainly but also use PC. No rush or anything!
I unfortunately bought SurfShark a month or so ago, which sadly doesn't work half of the time. Hulu seems to hate any server SurfShark has lol.
Definitely gonna sign up for torguard Thursday.
Thanks for all of y'alls help !

Just tried it on the PS5. Went from NAT Type 3 without it, and NAT Type 2 with it. Same NAT Type as my ATT Fiber connection.
Used the same router and config from this video.
