    is there a particular order on the antenna connections on the back using 4 yagi directionals (I just see 4g/5g on 2 of them and 5g on the other 2)

      These are usually paired together on the WG1608. Two on the left one pair and the two on the right for the other. For LPDAs I would simply stack them at alternating 45 degree angles. Hopefully spaced about a foot apart if possible.

    Is there a way to band lock with this router? I see no options for doing so. I have this unit with the Quectel 520 5g module.

      Hello William, Apologies for the delay. Super delay :(
      The bands locking can be done via AT commands. Band locking in the firmware depends on the firmware version you are using. Some versions have it and some do not. The latest versions of Rooter firmware should have it for the RM520N-GL modem.

    hi im using wg1608 with em160r gl. it came with 12v 2a. should i use 3a? and if i use something higher will it not fry the pcb?

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven  Год назад +1

      I would go higher with a 3A or 4A supply. Higher amps is not a problem, higher voltage is definitely bad and will fry the pcb. As long as it is 12VDC you will be fine, even with a 6A or 10A power supply @12VDC.

    What is the USB port used for. I am trying to upgrade firmware for my 5g Quectel modem through the USB port but its not working

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven  2 года назад

      The USB port is for adding USB devices only. A PC will not see the modem via the routers USB port.
      To update the firmware on your modem you must either run Qfirehose via command line with a copy of the new firmware on the routers file system, or remove the modem and place it alone in a usb to m.2 adapter and plug directly into the PC running the QFlash software.
      I believe you have posted on the forum, and are getting a solution there, correct?

      @@wirelesshaven Yes, I was so confused. Turns out it it easier to order the EVB module to upgrade and thats what I did, just have to wait 1 motnh to get it now

      @@wirelesshaven I have not received a reply to my question about updating modem using router interface. I have a WG 1608 router and I am trying to updgrade modem firmware through the router. The Qfirehose says it only supports Android and Ubuntu. I have windows 10 so I am not sure that will work. Can I upgrade firmware using windows 10 or possibly using built in SD card on router? Thanks

    Hi my wifi network isn’t showing up but the Ethernet works. Can you help me?

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven  Год назад +1

      You may need to reflash the firmware fresh and follow it up with a factory rest. Then re enter all your settings manually.
      First Check the Network-Wireless page and see if the wifi radios populate. If they do, you may not have a huge issue. Might just need a power cycle or two.
      You may also want to scan with an app and see what wifi channels are the lowest used in your location (wifi channel contention) and chance the wifi settings to use those lesser used 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz channels. Also it is always good ont eh WG1608 to turn the wifi power output down, as they tend to burn themselves out on full blast.

    Hi, how do you open the cover?

    • @wirelesshaven
      @wirelesshaven  2 года назад

      There are three screws on the bottom of the case. Remove those three and GENTLY separate the top half from the bottom half. They slide together at the top front of the case.
