She arranged this performance herself, at the ripe old age of 9 years and 2 weeks - this excellent band of jazz musicians fondly called her "the boss". The reason why she always performs barefoot is because of something that happened to her in the Middle East when she was only 6 (Google it). This little scrap of humanity was off the charts in musical talent AND human empathy! Well, she is 18 now and already 6 feet tall, hardly a "scrap of humanity" these days, but she WAS truly little when these formative events happened to her. I suggest you have a look at her first proper performance (in her Oslo musical school facility) at 6, where we can see where she is heading: ruclips.net/video/P59dEG-ACGM/видео.html Be sure to turn on the English subtitles for the Norwegian dialog, it is priceless! She entered Norway Got Talent when she was old enough (7) and won NGT when she had turned 8. A simple search on RUclips will find her 4 epic performances. React to them if you want, but they are just an introduction to what is the delightful Angelina Jordan Rabbit hole. Then there is a plethora of pre-teen performances... Just make sure you watch these early performances to the very end: Angelina is never stressed or nervous before performing because (to use her own words) she "enters her own musical world when the music starts". The good bit: She always manages to invite her audience along for the ride! The best bit: In these early performances we can frequently see her coming out of her magnificent music mode and quietly revert back to being just a young, unassuming girl again, maybe a little curtsy, a shy smile and a wave "bye"...

Post-black metal can be compared to stuff like post-punk. Where it is often more melancholic, more variations in terms of tempo and melody yet still maintain elements of the root genre. Not to mention, it's much more versatile, so you can experiment with different genre blends, soundscapes, effects, etc.

A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on RUclips. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RUclips went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on RUclips. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. On May 5th, 2023, Angelina released her original "Love Don't Let Me Go". On July 23th she released her orginal EP “Old Enough”. Angelina perform Concert at the Music Hall in Portsmouth New Hampshire on Sept 22nd, 2023. It Was a great concert, who was not and could regret it, a big mistake. On 10/27/23 she released her new orginal singiel “Our Time”. In November 2023, she was presented as a debutante at Le Bal des débutantes in Paris. On 12/08/23 she released new Marry Christmas EP “Driving Home for Christmas”. On 12/10/23 she sing in Oslo at the Nobel Peace Prize Celebration - Unchained Melody tribute to 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Iranian human rights activist Narges Mohammadi. On february 29, 2024 she had two concerts in Las Vegas, Nevada,on the Elvis stage.

I am a 55 year old man who has listened to every kind of music and have enjoyed many artists.. However this young lady has to be the most talented individual I have ever heard in all my years. She can literally sing any genre. Her vocal ability and what she can do to touch your soul and make you feel every word while she is singing is unbelievable. She embodies every song as if she has experienced it. This is your first reaction to her. Enjoy the ride as we have, we are all her angels. She is our barefoot princess.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this song hits you a lot different when you’re in the Autumn of your life. Ain’t it funny how the night moves. With autumn closing in. When I was young it was a song of hope and promise. At 57 it’s a bittersweet reminder that those days are long gone but also remembering how sweet they were.
