What a rich melody! And the guitar too. She knows how to do music.
Thank you for checking Madison out. She considers herself a guitarist first, then a singer. Many professional guitarist wax eloquently about her playing, such as Michael Palmisano and Rhett Schull here on RUclips, and others in the industry. She often uses interesting and offbeat tunings, much the way Joni Mitchell does. I, too, love her voice, and is what drew me to her in the first place. Her songwriting is wonderful, and often biographical like this one. This particular tune is the first track on her Grammy winning album "Revealer". As for other tunes to check out "Pin It Down" is a good one, and there is a live version in studio on her RUclips page. It's with a band, and there's a bit more of a groove to it. Another to check out is her tune "Life According to Raechel", and bring tissues. She often performs as a soloist, just her and guitar, and John Mayer picked her to open during his recent solo tour in that manner, or on her headline stuff she usually has a band with her. Every performance she does is different, she's always evolving her music. I was lucky to see here in a small venue with a band, and it was a magical night.
Last year, Madison did a group of sold out concerts in New York and London with Jacob Collier and Chris Thile that from what I've seen were magic. After the last show in London, the three of them got together for another Mahogany Session and recorded Jacob Collier's "Summer Rain". It's drop-dead gorgeous. Video here on RUclips
