Ah! The reason this performance is so long is because this is actually Crumbling Castle + The Fourth Colour (It switched at 12:55). They play these two songs together like this a lot despite the fact that Crumbling castle is the opening track on the album and The Fourth Colour is the final track on the album. The album, btw, is "Polygondwanaland". Lots of crazy, fun time signatures and polyrhythms on this records. It's one of my all-time favs by them.

Gizz reactions are what brought my attention to reaction streamers. Now I'm hooked!

I haven’t heard this live version, it’s nice to have something different than the KEXP version and album version :)
Especially since this is from a few years after the song was written and I feel like by then they’ve actually mastered playing it live. Although, The KEXP version is also really good, just a bit short.
I’d recommend listening to the album version if you get the chance to, in this performance they shaved off the heavy sounding end and instead played part of a different song, “The Fourth Color” which closes out the album “Crumbling Castle” is from.
Also it’s been a lot of fun watching your King Gizz reactions, not a lot of reaction channels seem to dive into lyrics.
Ps, if you can stand an 18 minute song, then “Hypertension” is a fun one, also “Hate Dancing” from their album Changes

I'm Australian and I can't figure out why I never heard of this great band. They time travelled from the 1960s bringing the best of psychedelia. I will look for them.

If you’ve not heard of them then you’re probably missing out on a lot of fantastic contemporary Oz music.

So many great albums to dive into! I'd suggest checking out Astroturf from the Changes album, and then dip into thier microtonal sounds with If Not Now, Then When? from L.W.

This is Awesome! Gizz is my all time favorite band. You should really check out some of their newer live stuff, they've grown a ton since then.
I recommend listening to the river from PALP fest

Love your reactions to KGLW! I really enjoy that you look up the lyrics as well. If you like the energy and live setting you should check out and react to Dripping tap live at Bonnaroo 2022 🔥 That’s actually the performance that sold me on the band.

Thank you for your reaction to my request!! I appreciate you taking the time to listen to lyrics and all the different things to see during their live songs.
Also, I requested this older version because it rocks and I didn’t want to do another KEXP request after I’d requested the KEXP ‘Iron Lung’. I love this era of Gizz and am stoked Jess liked it. It’s not as important to me as it is to others to request the ‘best’ version of whatever song.
It’s fun to request songs for Jesse to react to. If you join her Patreon you can choose your own songs! It’s a blast.

Keep going with KGLW! How about Straws in the Wind? Or Robot Stop? Hard to go wrong with them. Strongly recommend you review a full album. LW strangely I think might be a good one. Thanks!

This song is track 1 on their 12th album "Polygondwanaland", and one of my favorite King Gizzard songs. Near the end of the performance they transition into a section of "The Fourth Color", the 10th track on the same album. The studio version of this song (which has a music video) has a doomy section at the end rather than a transition into another track, and they've never played that section live, which is unfortunate since they got into making metal not too long after this song was released, and it would probably sound amazing live.
Lyrically, the song has to do with the "Gizzverse" that connects a lot of their songs and albums, usually through lyrical or melodic references. I won't go too into since it does spoil the story of another album, but its interesting stuff!
Also, I've never seen Stu (the frontman) play that guitar before. I'm not exactly sure why he has that one, but this was recorded in 2018, the only year since their debut album in 2012 that they didn't release an album.
