Greatest rock band of the modern era. And im pretty sure thats the most accurate way to describe them.

It's easy to fall in love with this band after hearing how diverse their albums are. They do jammy stuff, microtonal, electronic, psychedelic, garage, metal, jazz, prog, etc.

Totally agree with the other comments here! Happy you stuck with the song and actually found some interesting things about it. I’ve seen them live 4 times and it’s been top experiences in my life. You never know what you’ll hear. They have over 100 songs in rotation and never play the same set twice! In one concert you can get psychadelic rock, jazz, microtones, rap, electronic, blues, psych pop and metal 🤯🔥
Suggested songs to react to are: Catching smoke, Dragon, Crumbling castle live on KEXP, Grim reaper live at Lowlands I believe and Dripping tap live at Bonnaroo (what sold me!!). Have fun 🦋

Welcome to the gizzverse, brother. No two albums are alike (give or take some sounds). Easily the most exciting band making music right now, and they’re always putting stuff out. Coming up on a 70s boogie rock inspired album any day now!

Most of their KEXP live version of songs are amazing, especially Magma. Also my favorite version of Rattlesnake is a live Red Rocks version from 2022 where they tease a few other songs and the whole thing is a pretty catchy jamming session.

I second the magma suggestion. It’s such a strong jam with so much room for all of them to really explore the music.

I’m telling you , this is one of my new favorite bands ! You gotta try them out , they recorded 25 albums in 10 years ! Which is a phenomenal feat ! They are so diverse and talented, this one is not one of their best for sure . Listen to Iron Lung , or River , catching smoke Motor City to name a few

This is one of my favorite bands of all time. This song was my first exposure to the band, and I loved it (I've never done any sort of substance in my life). I went to check out their other music thinking it would sound the same, and I was instsntly proven wrong. Now I've heard all 25 of their studio albums, and loved each one to varying degrees. This is from their 9th album "Flying Microtonal Banana", named after the custom yellow guitar their frontman Stu Mackenzie plays on the album fitted with extra frets between the normal frets to easily play the notes between notes, microtones. If you have a good ear for what is and isn't out of tune, you may notice that some of the notes in this song are "out of tune". Those are the microtones. The idea of this track was to make a song so long and repetitive as the opener so the listener gets used to the microtones.
If you want another song from them that's completely different from this, I'd check out either "Catching Smoke" or "Dragon", the former being a progressive psychedelic synth-pop track, and the latter being a progressive thrash metal song.
And yes, their concerts are great. I've never been to one, but they have quite a few live albums (with professionally recorded footage), so I'd imagine that seeing them live would be incredible.

      TWENTY-FIVE Albums?!?! Wow, uh, ok!
I've started down the rabbit hole and have heard Honey and Gila Monster. And, yeah, they are not cliche at all! Thanks for the heads-up and info. Catching Smoke and Dragon are next!
Interesting about the microtonals. I did catch those and now that I think about it, they really do disappear, don't they? That's insane.

@@ricdreactsgood on ya for giving the band another chance! They approach each album differently, so every album has a very different sound, as you’ve probably already discovered with the difference between this and Gila monster. Gizz fans always say, if you don’t like the new album, there’s always next month!

I’m seeing them twice in forest hills nyc this august. I saw them there 2 years ago. So damn good.
You still haven’t heard KGLW. You need at least 10 songs from 10 different albums to actually hear them.
    Crumbling Castle
    Set
    Shanghai
    I’m in your mind
    Quarters
    Dragon
Just for a taste. And none of them are like this. They also dropped the second drummer schtick as the guy with glasses was holding the good drummer back.

Definitely the foundation for perhaps on of the most fun live songs ever. Please listen to the 2022 Red Rocks Rattlesnake.

Dog you got bit by the rattlesnake and the only antidote is more gizz reactions. Head over to Dragon.

This one can seem a bit dry and repetitive for sure, even as a huge fan, this song isn’t my favorite listen. Having been to two of their shows, I can say they are indeed phenomenal live. ‘Magma’ live from red rocks 2023 is an outstanding performance, and also 100% of their KEXP live sessions showcase their performance skills quite well. I’d recommend checking these out if you have the time and interest.

I really really want to see you react to their song "The Dripping Tap", this is some Led Zeppelin shit.

Rattlesnake is such a dumb song but dumb in a great "lets just fuck around and not take anything seriously" way. It's the Gizz song you play to mess with people. 😂

You fucked up. You watched the wrong song and video. Don't worry about views some of their best stuff doesn't have millions of views. Watch anything live fuck the videos do live songs.
