Are these hosts really hosting a baseball podcast..? Sounds like they hardly understand the game.. 1) The Pratt guy, makes me wonder how he can have a podcast and embarrass the Marlins fans. He should present his PROOF that Ohtani is guilty! Where is your proof?? Present your proof in This Podcast. If not Defamation is also punishable by law! When will Ohtani have time and energy to gamble 19,700 bets in 36 month? He sleeps 11-12h to recover. He is training in both pitching and batting (Brits may not understand how much energy it takes to train for 4-5h and play for 3h baseball every day!) Ohtani who is known to never go out and drink, clubbing don’t even know how to play LOTTO (refused to follow Angels teammates for poker nights coz he is not interested, they all know this!) M ont the other hand was notorious in liking gambling since NPB days by the team staff. *26 Bank recordings, of Mizuhara (interpreter) pretending to be Ohtani. Actual voice conversation of changing settings, to allow transfer.. *9K text messages between Ohtani and M with no gambling content since 2019. *Threat messages from the bookie to M to reveal to Ohtani of the loan situation.. *M deceiving Ohtani and later asked him to go along with it AFTER announcing in an interview. Ohtani called his Agent middle of the night to alarm him, when M confessed. The wife of M also present when this happened. You obviously haven’t read the report nor the additional information that surfaced that, M also had taken out cash to make personal purchase. Requested 60K in check for own dental bills which Ohtani paid but M again used Ohtanis credit card to pay the same bill. Paid the gambling debts from Ohtanis account but deposited winning in HIS OWN ACCOUNT! These are some of the findings. Even FBI can’t hide the fact that M is guilty. Buy the way, it’s the opposite, if FBI could catch Ohtani it would be the biggest trophy catch ever rather than hiding it. BIR, Homeland security have all compiled the evidence. As for Ron Acuña Jr, he had EXACTLY SAME SIZE BASES, last year..(in case you didn’t know bases changed 2023) 1) Acuña DID GET LOVE! He was chosen baseball player of the year! aside from NL MVP. 2) EASY to run bases? This Pratt guy takes the price in ignorance of the sport! Why do you think there are not many stealing bases! The success rate hasn’t changed much because it’s still difficult to succeed! It’s an enormous tear and wear in stealing bases that requires skills. The bases are bigger but the players adjust to tag after a season! More than anything, how is this guy allowed to talk about baseball?!? 3) MLB ranked Acuña#1 beginning of this season while they put Ohtani on #5 (because they thought he is rehabbing and won’t do anything) Balls The balls were also marked when Judge was hitting 60-61-62-63 in 2022. They were also special marked balls why are you not assuming it’s juiced balls? 1) Juiced balls (apart from ASG) were actually found in ONLY Yankees September games..by third party investigation. The commissioner denied first but later admitted there were different balls out there..Even several, pitchers complained about the balls were different. 2) There are no juiced balls this year after the 2022 Yankee/Judge HR record season. No pitchers noticed different balls as 2022 3) Aaron Judge is a CAREER hitter! His whole career is hone hitting skills. Ohtani is a pitcher who hit better than most sluggers in whatever position! Can Gerrit Cole hit HR? That would be the more fair comparison! Please don’t make up stories. It’s Disgusting. And don’t talk about subject you don’t understand. Let the very small crowd of Marlins fans enjoy historical players perform in their own stadium in peace!!

Srry but u guys sound extremely uneducated and biased. It's stupid to just claim the balls are juiced for ohtani so he can be good, esp to "quiet" the betting scandal. Hes still hitting vs the same balls as everyone else until he was close to a milestone, just like MLB does for every other player close to milestones. And if it was really "lighter" or different the catcher and pitcher would be able to know right away. They've held a baseball their entire life. And to answer the which is more impressive question, its easily 50/50. Not only do the numbers actually match instead of 2 different numbers, 10 more HRs is considerbly harder than 20 SBs. And 10HR equals 40 total bases while 20 SB is only 20 TB, and HRs auto score every possible run. All this is meaningless anyways since Ohtani is on the cusp of 55/55, which is also way more impressive than 40/70.

Acuña had a 84% success rate on steals last season. Ohtani has a 93% success rate. Maybe you cover this in the ep but I don't think people are acknowledging how efficient Shohei has been.

Let's trade our talented players (the few we have left with any real market value) for prospects who may or may not pan out. If those prospects do pan out to become talented players, then let's trade them away in exchange for more prospects (to save money). Given this model, I struggle to find much basis for fan optimism. Cheers.

@@zenman1001 For low-income teams, it's all about timing (windows). Simply having two or three top players (see: Angels) might work, but probably not. Rather, when a team window opens (see: D-backs 2023 or even Marlins 2023). Many layers involved. Records +/- .500 are useless. The balanced low-income winner makes the playoffs with the most efficient payroll. Regular season wins are severely diluted now anyway.

@@thomasjoseph3488 You are absolutely correct & I have no argument with anything you've written. Why are we a low income team? Might the lack of fan interest (and ticket purchasing) have some association with the inferior on-field product we receive? Why do we have an inferior on-field product? Might that be associated with a cheap owner who is unwilling to invest in attracting & retaining top shelf players? Perhaps I should have written my missive more simply, "I struggle to find much basis for fan optimism given the current, cheap team ownership". More than anything I blame MLB for this situation. We need a hard salary cap AND a salary floor (to prevent cheap owners from chronically rolling out non-competitive teams whilst bottom feeding off the MLB revenue share). I suppose it could always be worse. At least we're not White Sox fans. And yes, there is always a remote chance that we'll time a window perfectly, defying the gargantuan odds stacked against us given this business model.

I wager nearly half the league would trade places with the Marlins and their two WS titles in less than 30 years. SD, Milwaukee, Mariners, Rockies, and Tampa Bay, for sure. Seven others? Probably.

It was difficult to learn much about starters when, apparently, 4.2 innings is his limit, no matter the pitch count, evaluation need, or anything else. Why? Because he wants to win every game. Except if Ohtani is playing, of course. 🤣

Everyone has different opinions, but I entirely disagree with you guys and Schumaker (and why I won't lose sleep about his departure). Pitch to Ohtani a couple of times, but do not let your team be humiliated thereafter. He beat the drums all year about winning every game, then bows deep to Ohtani because of "bad karma" and the "right thing." My arse. Which is it? Let's see if Schumaker can turn the Reds around. They're big spenders, too.

They were already being curb stomped by that point. There was absolutely no reason to intentionally walk him. The better question would be why Skip didn’t insert an actual pitcher to pitch to him so as not make that last HR a bit cheap.

@@kramalerav Your opinion, which is fine. I absolutely think there was a reason not to allow an opposing player that outcome. As far as the position player, the Dalai Lama Schumaker, worried about karma, must have finally decided that his players come first. My opinion, of course.
