Ely's statement that this offseason is key follows my own thinking. The deadwood is all cleared, except the three $10m Stanton installment payments. In one year or so, Bendix revitalized the farm and cleared the slate. Now, he can paint his vision. It will begin to take shape now. Exciting, I think.
Peter & Ely seem to be the perfect combination. I'd like to see them partner up for a new Marlins podcast.

No problem with Ely's conservative playoff expectation. My question is how do we expect the Marlins to spend much more? Doesn't it boil down to whether we believe the Marlins are truly profitable? It not, how can they increase spending very much? If they are "holding out," and spending is miserly as a choice, what it the factual basis for that? We have fluid media deal situation, poor attendance-genetated revenue contribution, and damaging machinations in the CBT calculations (Ohtani). There are also the big 2020 losses and management of $400m in debt from the team purchase. How are these supposedly already overcome and settled? I simply don't see the lack of spending increases as all "choice," rather realistic circumspection.

All l know is that Peter Bendix better be more active during the upcoming offseason than he was last season when all he did was sign one lame and useless Free Agent in Tim Anderson. And l hope he keeps our young players who for the most part have been showing up and showing out; guys like Connor Norby, Xavier Edwards, Griffin Conine, Valente Belloso to name a few. With our injured Pitchers hopefully coming back 100 % healthy, we will be a much more competitive squad. And of course, Bendix needs to find the right manager for this young team.
Yes I agree with what you said we need a better pitching coach and hitting coach but I expect Bendix to make some moves this offseason and I also can’t wait to see the Marlins new city connect unis.

I was hoping for a competitive season, especially after the success we had last year. But l was disappointed with Bendix as his first year with us. He needs to be more aggressive. I hated to see Arraez go. Look at him now! Leading the league in hitting once again with only 15 games left. He’s on his way to his 3rd consecutive batting title. And it looks like he will lead the NL in hits as well. I miss Jazz too! But I’m glad he is doing pretty well with the Yankees.
@@raymondhernandez3155 yeah but you keep forgetting look at all the prospects he got in all those trades and every prospect he’s gotten it’s been a win for Miami and a loss like the Marlins/O’s trade. Our farm is now almost top 10 thx to Bendix he knows how to make trades and dw he will be more active in year 2 look at Kim in year 2 when she was here made some moves too. Just give it a minute. I think we need a better hitting coach and Mel needs to go and for manager idk who will get but someone good. Dude Jazz was not gonna do anything here because he can’t stay healthy and if you think losing Arraez was bad well Otto had looked better defensively then Arraez at 2nd and Edwards is our new Arraez so that padres Marlins trade was a win-win imo.

That’s true. We DID get back some good young players in those trades. They just have to become every day starters, bit just one hit wonders. Oh! And we need a catcher real bad! I know we got one in one of the trades, supposedly he has good power. I forgot his name but hopefully he’ll be with the Big Club sooner than later.

@@raymondhernandez3155 yeah ik who your talking about Agustin Ramirez I think he’s good and Perada is a good backup catcher or Fortes too. But so far the players we got in those trades in return have all done well especially Norby who I thought was a steal for us and he’s definitely our future 3rd baseman and we should build around him, Edwards, and Burger imo. But dw if we got the right hitting coach and pitching coach all of our young players will do so well just trust Bendix and I think in a couple years will be a WS contender you will see.
Bentdicks is a joke too! What was he doing with Arraez deal?! The inept dilf even PAYED to give him away! That nerd needs held accountable for that atrocity! Jazz too! What a horrific trade. How do you NOT get a top 100 Prospect for anyone?! Complete joke! Arraez should have netted Merrill or don’t trade! I mean, 2 guys who can barely get a .200 average and a 0 homer guy who woulnt be anything but a speedster is a GARBAGE deal! Bentdick needs to be fired for being a goof!
You do realize Arraez is a one tool player and the marlins got two OF players that have been improving these last two months and a young player that looks to be a defensive wizard in CF that will be a top 100 prospect
