I have Ryzen 9 5900X CPU and a 7900 XT graphics card, a 1440p monitor. With Ray tracing turned off, I’m not getting over 100 FPS. What am I missing?

I bought my 7900xt last year and I don't understand people saying this card is an entry for 4k. If you are getting this card, that means you're mainly playing AAA games and you expect a decent >100 fps in 2k. You wouldn't buy a 7900xt to play Terraria or Stardew at 4k right? So how is this card a 4k entry card when you can only play Spiderman at ~43 fps. I guess people have different expectations. But for me I value smooth fps over stuttering 4k fps even though it's superior in quality. I mean who enjoys 40 fps spiderman for real.. Anyways I was gonna go for a 4k monitor but I think I have changed my mind for a decent 2k monitor. I think there's still some time before 4k gaming becomes mainstream so I can enjoy smooth games.

Literally, most of the games look the same with rt on bruh. I be playing gow, fortnite, csgo they all look good without rt on. Sure its good if the option is there, its just not so ground breaking as nvidia makes it out to be lolz.

Yeah, it is decided. They go for the same price in used market while amd has more vram, more normal performance, better rt performance in some cases too, so yeah, this helped me a lot on choosing the right gpu

I don't get people who are complaining that this performance is bad? Like if you want high quality graphics framerate shouldn't matter that much since u want to look at the visuals not play quick like FPS games, as long as it's getting more than 60 fps in my game i'm more than happy (considering the price i'm paying) and if i turn RT off the performance is to the roof so.. yeah i think it's time to stop against Nvidia's greed. I'm saving about $350 on this one.

AMD GPU's not have a RT core, so don't use RT in AMD GPU's...

i see alot of comments, and i know this is old. but heres my take. the reason he gets such great frames is his cpu and gpu combo. his rates 1080 p are due to the cpu and everything higher is the gpu. i myself run a 5700x 6800xt at 1440p and there is still a very small 1.5% bottleneck. 1080p is 10. if you guys have the ability and your experiencing low fps, try upping your resolution. 6800xt isn't meant for 1080p, its a big boy. also make sure you have xmp enabled in bios for your ram, most motherboards don't have it enabled automatically.

I hate how RT is becoming the new standard. Unless AMD catches up in the next few years, we're all gonna be stuck paying Nvidia prices to play games that don't even support traditional rasterization anymore
