Would have loved to see the miles morales at v high without ray tracing. I got a 7900 xt and man is it a beast. Staying right up at 4080 performance in all rasterization. Ray tracing isnt well enough optimized/implemented imo for it to be worth the fps hit
Both companies bombed this Gen. Obviously both from a price standpoint. 7900xt should be $700. the 4080 should be around $900 and 4090 $1200 to 1300. RDN 3 is a bust. Not much more powerful than 7 series. The Chiplet design is nice but they need to improve ray tracing and performance more since FSR isn't that great...yet.
price is the same for 7900xt and 4070ti but i still cant decide! keep hearing things about driver stability, which ultimately does matter, but then 12gb vram is so little that in a couple years the 4070ti wont be able to keep up with the 7900xt lol
If that's where you are, I recommend the 7900 XT. You're absolutely right about 12GB not being enough for 4K gaming within the next few years, even with Nvidia's superior compression algorithm. AMD has a way of refining their drivers gradually over time because their team is so much smaller than Nvidia's. I've been using an AMD GPU for the last six months and have had no issues except for in Watch Dogs 2. Every other game ran perfectly well. I tested over 35 games because I was trying to find this troublesome driver experience, but I couldn't find anything except for in that game. The 4070 Ti's real strength is in ray tracing. If ray tracing is very important to you, then get the 4070 Ti. Otherwise, get the 7900 XT. I will note that the most upsetting part of the experience of using my 6600 XT is that sometimes the control panel software resets its settings to default and I have to Alt-Tab back into it and click "Apply". Other than that, it's been pretty seamless.
@@selohcin thank you for the reply my friend. I actually changed my mind completely and went for the 6700xt. The price / performance is brilliant and it will tide me over until the next release of gpus, meanwhile I can do what I need to do and wait it out a bit 😬😁. I am glad I made this decision having read your response here, should have nothing to fear
But AMD use more vram be ages. Sometimes 5 GB even more like RDR double amount for 4k. Different comprersion. Look at vram usage. So that#'s the reaosn of more vram on AMD and I wouldn't be sure gonna be enoiugh for future.
Since you were going for 4K, I don't think 13900k + 4070 Ti is a good combo. CPU practically doesn't matter at 4K as long as it's something modern so 13700k or even 13600k would've sufficed and with that price difference I think it would've been enough to get the 4080 or 7900 XTX
I'm going to do some when FSR 3 releases but it's not really a good comparison otherwise (arguably isn't a good comparison even once FSR 3 is out). FWIW frame generation makes The Witcher playable with maxed RT at 1440p, and it can also be good for overcoming reduced framerates from CPU bottlenecks. On balance, for now, DLSS 3 makes the 4070Ti more appealing than the 7900 XT imo.

All in it's basically the same as a 4070ti but with weaker ray tracing. For 4k the 7900XT is arguably better, though tbh neither card is great at 4k in a lot of games.

@@selohcin It’s definitely not better in every way. I own both cards and the 4070ti is faster in over 60% of the games I’ve tested in.
