Top 10 Albums of 2023
Top 10 Albums of 2023 (New Releases, my picks). These were the best albums according to me for 2024. It’s a predictable list from the fact that I don’t stray too far from my wheelhouse. However there are several new artists to me who made fabulous albums that I enjoyed listening to. Enjoy the video.

Просмотров 233Год назад
The 1990’s brought the return of Britannia and once again music from the UK led the way. From Blur to Oasis, The Verve to Pulp, the bar was set high and the great albums rolled out for the best part of the decade. Here’s my top 10 that I own on vinyl in my collection.

The one you’ve all been waiting for, the music room tour. See the room, check out the gear set up, the art work, the displays and of course the vinyl. Stacks and stacks of vinyl records and everything else a music room should have on offer. After much time and hard work my room is finally finished and I’m excited to share the finished room with all of you. #musicroom #mancave #homedecor #vinylc...

Was interested until the Spin guide came out. Who knows more about Punk Rock than Spin? Why, only Rolling Stone, I'm sure.
Jones Sandra Garcia Dorothy Hernandez Donald
Miller Paul Perez Helen Hall Jason
White Karen Johnson Sandra Miller James
Great picks there! I’m a big fan of all of these albums, apart from Urban Hymns which I.never managed to get into. A few I’d add to your list would be Dodgy-Homegrown, Divine Comedy-Casanova, and Gene- Olympian. You should check them out if you don’t know them! Oh, and it agree that The Bends does count as Britpop!
I can't see why the slits should be in there and a head of the ruts. What drugs are you taking
Great main art print. Next time share the story on that.
beautiful setup ! I like the vintage vibe ! congrats
Hope your doing well. Miss watching new videos from you.
Nice room, distracting background music
The best storage if you have alot of cds like myself (over 2,000) is bookcases. For vinyl I myself (just over 3,500) I like to build my own room dividers which are 8 feet long, 12 inches in width and 13 inches in height. I only stack 2 together and to hold 12 lnches off the ground with 3 milk cartons. One each at the end and 1 in the middle. And believe me those milk carton will hold a ton of vinyl. Thanks for reading my comment (from 976-CREOLEMAN).
I'm collecting this flag series so far I have 23
Marvelous and most enjoyable!
No Moody Blues?
Nice set up
DAMNED????????
16:31 says "Marantz 2250" but the unit says Marantz 2230 and indeed this is a Marantz 2230.
Trail and mountain running only for me.
Great list. Definitely agree with Number 1!!!!
I found the Mothership vinyl box set sounding gritty and not that clean. Almost as if it was like a K-Tel rip transfer. IE. Record to Tape to Vinyl Press. Very poor re-mastering and pressing quality.
9:00 for the tour 😀
Hi Edwin. I just stumbled upon your channel. Im a vinyl collector in Kamloops. Nice to see VC 🇨🇦 content. Looks like I've got a bunch of videos to go back and catch up on. 😊
:: didnt even notice you were gone. lol. just had to say that since im new here :: really dig the room & sweet system! :: props on the healthy lifestyle
Corrections: the soundtrack from Repo Man isn't the only place you find Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies, it was first released on thier debut self-titled album from.1983, a full year before the Repo Man movie soundtrack was released in 1984. / Exene pronounces her name Ex-een. It rhymes with names like Francine, Maureen, and most relevantly Christine which is her actual first name. / The Misfits didn't introduce skateboarding to punk rock, and in fact, they aren't even part of the skate-punk sub-genre, they are horror-punk. The bands most responsible for skate-punk were Jodie Foster's Army (also known as JFA), Code of Honor, Big Boys, and a little later, NOFX. / The song Strychnine is pronounced Strick-nine. Yes, it was originally by The Sonics. Since you mentioned the X album was produced by Ray Manzarack of The Doors, you might want to mention that Cramps album was produced by Alex Chilton of The Box Tops and Big Star. By the way you mentioned that The Cramps also started a subgenre. It's called Psychobilly
Agreed about the guitarists
John Cale-Mercy Yo La Tengo-This stupid World Two albums worth checking out

I love your Japanese collection Edwin, I too collect them since the seventies. They sound fantastic to me,like you said you can always adjust the bass on the amp.
That was a great Album list, keep up the videos Edwin, cheers!
Congratulations on the published list of the best 10 albums of 2023. It largely overlaps with my personal list. It took courage to put Iggy Pop, The Pretenders, Noel Gallagher on the list. Thanks again.
Nice that you keep up with your favorite artists. I'm so out of touch with what's happening in the music scene these days. On one hand, you have "heritage acts" trotting out their latest project (e.g., Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel, Blur), and on the other hand, there's a bunch of new artists that I've barely heard of much less listened to. I've heard some of the new Peter Gabriel album and it certainly sounds good (he's always been a studio wiz) but I have a hard time actually sitting through a whole album these days, not even my all-time favorites. I think the last time I really got into a new album was Bowie's Blackstar. I may check out that Blur album though. Thanks for the recommendations.
Great list Edwin, I need to check out the Pretenders album for sure. I also enjoyed these from 2023 Cowboy Junkies - Such Ferocious Beauty (their best in a while) Postdata - Run Wild (picked this up at a concert recently and really like it, Wilderness is still his best solo album though) The National - First Two Pages Of Frankenstein - Laugh Track (not sure which I like the most yet) Rickie Lee Jones - Pieces Of Treasure (Rickie does standards, what's not to love.) Happy New Year, Cheers!

I stopped after watching Paul Simon. Not for me.
I would have stopped at the introduction.
On the Iggy Pop LP, Navarro, Chaney and Hawkins only play on one track. Duff Mckagan and Chad Smith are on several.
My Bad
Great list! I’m curious who makes your shelving that looks fantastic. Is it custom?
They are just IKEA

Wow so jealous. Hopefully one day.
We need more britpop in the vc! Love your channel!
Enjoyed the video. There are exceptions but I’m usually not interested in bands or musicians that have for the most part seen better days.
Proves the point musicians are just like everyone else 😂
Nice haircut.
Hey it's great to see you back man this was a wonderful video
Hey, thanks!
😊Greetings from Bangor Co.Down Happy new year
Happy new year!
Not a bad top 10, but I would make room for Damned Damned album, The Undertones and 999 first as well as The UK Subs A Different Kind of Blues.
The Kallax in black looks good. i have seven in white and think I might get black for the 'next' room! Edit: One of the white ones is MUCH older than the others, bought it for dad to store his medication during his bedbound years... can say it's still as white as all the much newer units which I think is a great sign of quality.
Just paint it
Because of the finish coating on these, i don't think painting them will work. I did paint two 7" units that were made by a carpenter, but they are mdf. @@BigPerspective
I need to hear 'Twelve By You' by Wire
Loving Sam The Sham and X-Ray Speck. 🎉
Great tour Man! Just found your channel. Enjoyed it! Keep on keeping on!
