Thanks for the tour. I have the same Marantz (it's a 2230 -- not 2250!). I bought a custom "zebrawood" case for it that I found on Etsy and it looks really nice. Fascinating turntable you have there. I'd never actually seen one with an external motor like that. I have that same glass head -- and a few lava lamps, too!
Glad to see you back in the saddle so to speak. My wife and I have worked on two houses in our 47 year marriage. So I understand the work involved. I use to joke that because I own a hammer my wife thinks I’m a carpenter. Love the tour. Cheers my friend.
Cool setup man!! I’ve been collecting and listening seriously for around 3 years now, a lifetime ahead!! Similar music tastes too:) Happy New Year from Scotland!!😊
Love the room. Its nice to have a dedicated room just for listening. I have often wondered why only one chair in a listening room. I would want to be able to share my music with as much people as possible.
@Pretty Green Vinyl Guy my room currently where my records are stored doubles as our TV room..so I'm normally chilling on the sofa while listening to music..maybe down the road might try to create a dedicated listening room
Great to see you’re back on RUclips, it’s a ton of work so totally get taking a break to work on other things. Awesome to see how you set up your room, it’s so organized and clean. I gotta do some work on my room now lol, thanks for the inspiration ❤
Great to see your room set up Edwin, enjoyed the tour. I think the Ortofon Red is a great cartridge, I got it bundled with my Technics 1500C..although I did think about upgrading to the Blue. I love that Marantz amp, no wonder you wanted to keep that!. Hope your knee continues to improve, all the best.
I am new to the channel, and just recently getting back into vinyl. But I too have a Marantz (1060) and a pair of AR4’s! I love the sound and it appears we may have similar taste in terms of sonic palette. Glad to hear you’re back into it.
:: didnt even notice you were gone. lol. just had to say that since im new here :: really dig the room & sweet system! :: props on the healthy lifestyle
Glad to see you back Edwin. I’ve been enjoying all your new videos and look forward to many more. You have always been one of my favorite channels to follow. Cheers and Happy New Year good sir.
Very nice setup….That Marantz rec is gorgeous. Super cool Denon deck, too. I picked up a 3hd Nak. deck a few years ago. I had forgotten how much fun tapes were. Ended up with a nice little collection of new blank tapes, courtesy of eBay. I ran an Ort red for a while. Found it a bit too bright. Switched to a Grado gold and opened that sound stage right up. And the bass seems to reach through the floor. Funny, I say Z record room too. (In my best Willy Wonka voice, of course). Keep on spinning…🍻
The best storage if you have alot of cds like myself (over 2,000) is bookcases. For vinyl I myself (just over 3,500) I like to build my own room dividers which are 8 feet long, 12 inches in width and 13 inches in height. I only stack 2 together and to hold 12 lnches off the ground with 3 milk cartons. One each at the end and 1 in the middle. And believe me those milk carton will hold a ton of vinyl. Thanks for reading my comment (from 976-CREOLEMAN).
Your Beatles in mono set could also be included in audiophile category as well all analogue pressing very nice collection. Thank goodness for Kallax it's been a staple for the vinyl collector. Arcam makes a nice SACD player subsidiary of Harman/Samsung nowadays
The Kallax in black looks good. i have seven in white and think I might get black for the 'next' room! Edit: One of the white ones is MUCH older than the others, bought it for dad to store his medication during his bedbound years... can say it's still as white as all the much newer units which I think is a great sign of quality.
Because of the finish coating on these, i don't think painting them will work. I did paint two 7" units that were made by a carpenter, but they are mdf. @@BigPerspective
Your turntable is a Roksan Xerxes, Tabriz is the tonearm model. The motor power supply is separate from the deck, the motor is mounted within the turntable. Touraj Moghaddam, the turntables designer is originally from Iran, hence the exotic names, Xerxes was an ancient Persian King, Roxana, a princess married to Alexander the great, Tabriz, a city in Iran.
How do you like the sound of the AR4s? What made you choose them? I’ve just seen a pair for sale in Sydney and was wondering whether to pull the trigger
The AR4’s sound great. Really good highs and lows for a smaller speaker. I think they shine with more acoustic rock or jazz albums. But overall a solid 9/10. I would re purchase them in a minute. Thanks for watching and good luck.
Nice room tour. Just curious, you said your Marantz is a 2250. I think it's the 2230 based on other models I've seen just like it. I think the last two digits typically stand for the watt output.
I'd lost the Beatles poster otherwise folks might think you are a teenage girl living in 1962 and the Oasis Lp as this indicates you can't read or write that well. But it's always sweet to see the sea greenish marantz lights.
i really dont understand this phenomenon at all. people go buy all these records and instead of spending the time playing them they make youtube videos about them. Not saying you only, there are hundreds at least i have seen.
I guess we enjoy sharing our collections and having conversations about our equipment and vinyl pick ups. It’s a 21 min video that I make in one take. So if really takes no time at all. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video of your listening room, great hi-fi.
9:00 for the tour 😀
Nice room, I always love to watch how people display their stuff. Gives me inspiration for the vinyl room I'm working on now. Nice video.
wow !!! pretty cool collection .... and a GORGEOUS room you have there !!!!! ..... every music Colector dream !!!! Congrats from PORTUGAL
Thanks so much!! Dying to get to Portugal one day.

Love the room. Its nice to have a dedicated room just for listening. I have often wondered why only one chair in a listening room. I would want to be able to share my music with as much people as possible.
Good question! Sometimes you have to work with the space/room size you have. I can squeeze another chair in when company shows up.
@Pretty Green Vinyl Guy my room currently where my records are stored doubles as our TV room..so I'm normally chilling on the sofa while listening to music..maybe down the road might try to create a dedicated listening room

Hi Rob, thanks for stopping by. I’m very happy with the Red. Hopefully one day I can upgrade to the bronze or even the black. Cheers E
Thank you for the tour, most enjoyable.

Absolutely right with the Beatles.
I think those Beatles figures are really cool..dont understand why you dislike them if you are a Beatles fan ? 😉
The Kallax in black looks good. i have seven in white and think I might get black for the 'next' room! Just paint it

Trail and mountain running only for me.
16:31 says "Marantz 2250" but the unit says Marantz 2230 and indeed this is a Marantz 2230.

Yeah that sounds exactly what the seller told me back in August. I should have written it down. Thanks for the info and comments.
Who made those Beatles figures? Where did you buy them?
How do you like the sound of the AR4s? What made you choose them? I’ve just seen a pair for sale in Sydney and was wondering whether to pull the trigger

Try a nagaoka mp 110 its much much better then ortofon blue

That is correct. It is a 2230 .
I've heard the" turn it down" before my friend.. LoL
Every married man has experienced this 😂 Thanks for watching!!
8:28 is where it starts
I'd lost the Beatles poster otherwise folks might think you are a teenage girl living in 1962 and the Oasis Lp as this indicates you can't read or write that well. But it's always sweet to see the sea greenish marantz lights.
BOY ....( are you pretty )
Good! Luv it!!! This channel needs "Promo SM"!!
sweet! just that the background music doesn't work. annoying.
When I had uploaded the edit that music was attached. Not sure how I did it, but I was too lazy to re-edit. Thanks for watching
@@PrettyGreenVinylGuy No worries. I know how to get rid of it, but I am too lazy to write out the instructions ;)
Nice room, distracting background music

and some people instead of playing their music, waste their time watching videos of other people's music collection on RUclips
boooooooring!!
