Bass Pro Catalog was equally dangerous as owning a Playboy some households I know. I have a book about UK Coarse and Sea Fishing written from the 70s that gave a warning about those one-piece thermal fishing suits as some anglers wear hardly anything under those suits. If it's a cold wet, windy morning, the suits will keep you warm as toast and dry as a desert. But when the wind dies down and sun comes out, you'll overheat and steam like hole ridden radiator. Another tidbit is to lubricate the zipper system as corrosion can hinder one's attempt to rid one's body of last night curry or poorly cooked breakfast.

That was fun. Great seeing all those old lures. And the prices!

I have a new version , perch pattern. I walk trolled it along a Channel , and caught a 17 inch Smallmouth Bass on it. SO...., Makes you wonder, what happened to all the other " DIES" , and why The Guy in Detroit didn't buy the other moulds.

They only make one now days. So obviously Original Owner, sold one Die, and must have gotton rid of the rest. The Company made several rabble Rouser Lures. Maby the one you are using was their most successful one. I have the perch pattern one and caught a 17 inch Small Mouth Bass, walk trolling along a channel.

I discovered the Bass Pro Shops catalog in 1984 my dad was subscribed. I wonder if they still have an order form inside the catalog I can remember sending a personal check in the mail for what I ordered. I saved for a year and my dad put in an extra $10 for me to get a reel I liked. Minimum wage was like $3 an hour back then so $10.was quite a bit

Just picked up a lot of these off ebay..10 total, 3 shallow divers and 7 deep divers..$30 bucks for all 10 and they're in great shape.

Up here in Wisconsin and the Midwest those purple ringworms are outstanding Walleye and Sauger baits in the rivers. We use them quite a lot still during the Spring and Fall! Interesting channel and good videos ! I love finding and collecting old baits. I’ll have to start fishing the old baits more often, at least the ones I’m not afraid of losing.

On the top prop mr twister use a 3" curly tail grub or a 4" curly tail worm. And yes its meant to be rigged weedless from what I remember from decades ago lol.

I remember finding a crazy crawler in an old tackle box my grandpa had back in the 80s. I asked him what it did and he said just go tie it on and throw it down at the pond. As a kid I remember thinking how cool the action was

I owned a few in the 80’s. It was short bill with the deep diver style tail. I had to replace the tail regularly because large mouth would destroy them.

My dad said that when he was growing up, he would fish the pond at the farm where his sister took horseback riding lessons. One of his top lures was the lazy ike. A couple of years ago we were fishing from the canoe at a pretty high pressure public lake and he caught two little ones on it in short order. I firmly believe that anglers can develop a special connection with certain lures that gets them to work. Thanks for making a video about this vintage lure.

The red/yellow Bait is a Woods Deaper Doodle

WARNING..I left some 4in Yacamoto salt tubes rigged. The salt helped the hooks' barbs rust off.The tubes were stained with rust, where they touched the hook. Expensive 6/0 worm hooks at $1.35 each. Now, with a tight budget, I'm down 3 out of 5 hooks .Salt rusts and corrodes! Don't trust it. Also it happened in the winter and the lures weren't even wet!

They aren't special especially these days because most use salt on bottom contact soft plastics. Yamamoto is known for their salt content giving the senko a better and fast fall rate 😂.
