DJI Mini 3 vs Avata - side by side size comparison
Просмотров 724Год назад
Taking a DJI Mini 3 out of its case, showing the DJI RC Controller that includes a bully in display, along with the standard and large capacity Intelligent Flight Battery and Fly More charger. After that "unboxing", I realized it might be more interesting to see the Mini 3 size compared to a DJI Avata. I show the relative sizes, side by side with the Mini 3 folded and unfolded.
Two DJI Avata drones dance... and the beautiful crash
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.Год назад
I had an opportunity to fly with another DJI Avata pilot and I switched on Sport mode and head tracking so I could watch their movements more easily. The trees were glowing with a beautiful autumn blaze and it was great to be able to watch another Avata maneuver through the trees with my eyes while guiding my Avata with the Motion Controller. Unfortunately, I had a critical lapse of judgment an...

DJI Avata tips: Two good carrying cases

I have no affiliation with either bag manufacturer and received no compensation for these recommendations. It’s just a couple of carrying cases that I’ve tried and found to work well with the DJI Avata. Top pick: Newer Camera Bag US: www.amazon.com/dp/B01HGDFWU6/ Canada: www.amazon.ca/dp/B01HGDFWU6/ Smaller bag: Mier Lunch Box US: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CV9BGIM/ Canada: www.amazon.ca/dp/B...
DJI Avata - A drop off is more fun than a lift off #shorts
Просмотров 156Год назад
If there isn’t a good place to take off from, try a drop off instead! Just hold the top, start motor, and press and hold lock to start flying. Then let go and it’ll fly without ever touching the ground.. or grass.. or water! 😁
DJI Avata exploring waterfalls and a river in ultrawide and head tracking
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.Год назад
This was a very exploratory video trying some different exposure settings, using the ultrawide field of view with head-tracking to give a very up close and personal look at a rocky cliff, waterfalls, and a beautiful forest stream. I recorded some separate audio so you can enjoy the waterfall sounds. At the end, I used a hand grab technique for stopping the Avata without landing.
DJI Avata Head-Tracking and skimming over a stream

Trying out head-tracking mode, which feels a bit wild sometimes! Slowed it down in a few spots to enjoy the scenery. Overall, it's a very fun way to use the Motion Controller.

DJI Avata microSD slot and the trick to inserting and removing the card.
If you have fat fingers like me, taking the prop off first is the best option.
Is there another way to find my Video footage without an Computer?
Thats some tight flying . This is what the Avata was made for . Awesome video this is the kind of flying I love . Bless ya .
Thanks! I love how the Avata can fit in such tight spaces, my favorite flying, through the treetops. The wind was a bit spooky at one point but no crashes that day.
Dear friend. You are a lifesaver !!! Thanks. So useful. DJI designers are crazy.
This saved my day! Thanks for posting :)
You need to change on the settings to not record and save on the drone and yes save on the card
Yes, saving to the card is best because you can record for much longer.
why did u purchase this dronw
It's a great little FPV drone with built in propeller guard.
Its work!!! tq very much!
Those woods don’t exist anymore :(
Yes, the storm and then clearing left only stumps and a few trees. 😞 Nature will rebound but it will take many years to get back to what's seen in this video. 🌦️🌱🌿🌲
You can transfer the files from the drone to the sd card via the goggles menu
Cool, I'm glad DJI added this feature.
How
@@Will-lf7of power the drone on. Go into your goggles menu and select the option to do so
Thank you for helping. 🙏
The problem for me is that the camera settings in the goggles are set to record on SD card but when I go to fly the goggles tell me that there’s no SD card. But it’s clearly recognized in the settings with the proper amount of storage even listed. Any fixes for that?
Could it be warning you that there's no SD card in the Avata?
Are we going to ignore that the voice is Saul Goodman?☹️
Hahaha, better call AvataTime
I use garden pliers that also seems to help
Everytime I connect my avata to the computer it doesnt even recognize the drone. Nothing shows up
Sorry to hear that. Can you try with another computer? Try a different cable also. If you eliminate the computer and cable, that will help DJI diagnose the problem.
That's a dumb design... the door is eventually going to come off and stop the propeller...
So far,it's stayed in place but if it wasn't pressed in securely or was damaged, I suppose that would be a concern.
I don’t have fingernails… I use a pair of tweezers
Yeah, tweezers work. I can actually grip the card with the pad of a thumb and finger, but everybody has different hands.
I like the fact that you are recording Avata from an Avata 😂
Thanks! Great drone, shit slot
My mac book air does not recognise avata… so no help
Hi François, I use a MacBook Air also and didn't have any problem. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work on yours. I have a 2020 model running macOS Monterey but it seems like it should work on older Macs as well.
@@AvataTime thank you for your answer. Nevertheless since I bought avata like not even a month after release it never been recognise by OS Sierra on my Mac Book Air. I have contact DJI they have been reactive and the only solution they gave me is to connect on windows because is better recognised. Or tgey ask me to send them back the Avata… which I did not do it because I do not like that process (lost product or similar). So still now I have very nice record inside and can t take them of it is a bit shame for a 2000€ whole kit I bought to have fun… One guy told me that It might be possible to copy the inside memory on the sd card on the last update, I try to see that option but can’t find any help. 👎🏼
Sorry about that. You might try connecting it to a phone or tablet. I have no idea of that would work, but it's worth a try. Or perhaps you can use a friend's Windows laptop or a computer at a library or office store.
@@AvataTime yes I know will try with a friend comp but that s not a long last solution… about connecting to iphone or ipad I have tried and no result because unfortunately the DJI app does not take of storage from avata neither gogles… with the mavic mini I had before was much more easier… still do not understand why DJI proceed that way… it is so obvious that DJI app should be able to connect with the Avata inside memory… Avata is a great toys really but how such sophistication and technology when things simple as connecting with several devices is not done properly… this gap is a mistake. Or I have the only Avata which does not connect! 😂
Pretty cool! Nice flying! What a fun place to fly! Thank you for sharing!
Yes, the Avata is really great In the forest since prop guards protect it from branches. It can get closer to the ground than most drones also.
😂thank you!
I use tweezers
Yep, that's a good solution.
You don’t have to turn it on to read out the sd card.
Thanks, I didn't realize that.
Great shots . I think the Avata is the best drone you can get for videos like this . I love mine , and I do things I would never do with any of my other drones .
I totally agree! The Avata's not indestructible, but having the propellers protected provides a great sense of relief when flying through tight spaces. I don't have a ton of experience with the remote but with the motion controller, it's very intuitive and freeing. Every shot is smooth unless I need to stop abruptly.
hey Liked and subscribed... Thank you
Thank you
I bought a small pair of curved needled nosed pliers and filed a notch in both jaws to catch the ridge on the card . I keep them in the cup on my desk with all the pens and pencils . Thinking about adding a couple of O rings to add extra grip. I push it in and out by reaching across the prosser body . Under the battery would of been my choice for a good location .
A tool maker! Good job. 😃
Thank you so much. Very helpful.
Nice one sir. Can we copy files from SD card without taking it out through usb port?
That might be possible with the latest update. I'll check and let you know.
I just double-checked. Yes, but it's still awkward since you have to connect a USB-C cable to the port beside the microSD card. Both are under the cover within the propeller guard. I didn't realize that you can access both internal storage and the SD card via the USB cable. The latest Avata update enables transferring content from the Avata's internal storage to the microSD card.
DJI come up with some pretty amazing designs - this was not one of them. Thanks for sharing.
well i thought id learn a trick here but unfortunately you've just gone through the logical steps anyone would go through trying to take out the card. there is no trick. hope you have fingernails, and long fingers.
I suppose you're more clever than me. It took me awhile to figure out to reach over the propeller guard instead of going right for the card slot. Good for you!
yo,excellent -do you wanna more views?.all the best. )
More views it's nice, of course, but I'm just getting started. Do you have suggestions?
You're the man!
I’m happy if that helped you too. I was so relieved to find some video that I thought was gone forever.
Just curious after hitting the bin, does it survive? Do you need to buy replacement 😅
Yes, completely unharmed. It’s incredibly durable.
Mantab....hadir nih bosku L1 ya....jangan lupa mampir juga
Awesome
_it's amazing that Dji Avata can go to the forest, it's very interesting to use an fpv drone, you can try it using fpv, hopefully it will happen, thank you for sharing_ 👍🇮🇩
I have flown the DJI FPV in the woods also but it’s bigger and faster, with unprotected propellers, so it’s a bit scary to get close to trees.
@@AvataTime _Ok, thanks_ 👍
What’s the bag in the background? Been searching for one for a while
I show that bag and a new one in the video below. Both are padded and protect from water also. DJI Avata tips: Two good carrying cases ruclips.net/video/ad4e9YB8FuE/видео.html
It's weed. 😆
most brainless location for SD. DJI should win the Dumb and Dumber award for that !
i just wanna know how to get the video on windows lol and yes this is a pita
The best way is via a microSD card reader. They’re really cheap. Pop the card, insert it into the reader and plug that into your computer and it acts like a USB drive. Your videos will be in the DCIM folder.
What video editing software do you use?
It was either LumaFusion or VN video editor. Both work on a Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Really, any editor could have created this video. I only used simple dissolves and no color-grading. I did set the Avata exposure manually to keep the sky from blowing out so strongly when I tilted up. There are so many options to explore with this tiny drone. It’s really fun!
Using forceps is a good way as well
Yep, that would work.
where is location?
This is in Nova Scotia.
They're too big both
Too thick, too tall, or too wide? The Newer case is thicker than you really need for an Avata but the price is nice. The Mier is a pretty tight fit, though and I’m not sure if you can find a smaller, vertical, two compartment bag that would hold Avata, Goggles 2, Motion Controller, and spare battery.
Very nice. How you liking the Avata?
Oh, it’s fantastic! I like that I can get into tight spaces and fly low to the ground.
I am 1000% doing this- thank you!
Happy I could help.
Avata is Cute 😍
Yeah, so tiny by comparison.
Great Video what charger you recomended to all accesories ?
Charging the Avata batteries and Goggles 2 battery is easy and they're compatible with most new chargers. Just hook up whatever you have that supplies the most power and it will work. The Motion Controller is a bit fussy and doesn't like new Power Delivery chargers. Hopefully, you have an old charger. I have charged the Avata with a 20 watt iPad charger, a 45W MacBook Air charger, and a 60W PD charger that I got on Amazon (don't remember the brand). All work fine. For the Motion Controller I use an old 15W iPad charger that was meant for the iPad Air 2, which is very old.
👌👍
Tell me the engineers aren’t retarded on this and the c cord connection
The placement seems weird but there it’s quite a complicated device, packed tightly and built to be durable. I’m sure there were plenty of design constraints. Maybe this was one of the best places for those ports to protect the cards from damage. I really have no idea.
Really nice drone, I'm considering getting an Avata for my next drone. I've added your channel, hopefully you'll connect with another Mini drone pilot?
I highly recommend the Avata. I’ve flown DJI’s Mavic 3, Mini 3 Pro, and FPV. The Avata is the friendliest and most intriguing of them all in my opinion.
