    Excellent educational video. Go for 6.5-7 minutes if you like jammy egg yolks! Also,if you want to use a bowl instead of a ziplock bag for marinating, drape a paper towel over the eggs. It’ll absorb the marinade and apply it to the top of the eggs

    OMG I made this for dinner and it turned out great! And I’m someone who doesn’t cook well. It’s not as sweet as yoshinoya, which is fine for me. Thanks to the person who suggested buying thinly sliced beef. I found sukiyaki meat at the Japanese market. Definitely a keeper!

      It might still be delicious, but the tenderness of the chashu cannot be replicated. It’s not chashu; it’s just grilled pork.

      If you can’t use alcohol, it’s also fine to skip it. The role of cooking sake and mirin is to add umami and eliminate unwanted odors, but other seasonings generally achieve similar effects, so omitting it won’t make a big difference.
