9:06 you can predict her whereabouts by "reading" the snow tracks she left behind
Few have mentioned Bloodborne in the chat and I think with the gun/parry system it's pretty tough. DS3 is more about knowledge than skill. It does a whole lot of BS, but once you're in the flow it can feel quite smooth and easy. It'll still find ways to get you though, especially when that boss is on one-hit 😂
Short answer: no Midir can be tough though.
Not, its Elden ring but only the DLC! if you play it as intended. 1. 150-200 lvl 2. NO CHANGING OF SPECS (if you bleed spec you're fucked against ghostflame dragons and some bosses) 3. NO SUMMONS 4. NO ASHES ENJOY
I think its one of the easiest ds2 is way harder imo
ds2 is only hard because of the bs hit box and the final boss having 3 phases in SOTS with the final phase doing passive damage when you're near it. Oh and the second Smelter demon fight from the dlc has the worst runback of any game
@ which still makes it harder it doesn’t matter how or why ds1 and 3 are incredibly easy compared to 2 with the exception of a couple actually hard bosses sprinkled in
@@grungefrog7840 Artificial difficulty is not real difficulty. Darkbeast Paarl killed me the most in Bloodborne simply because of the camera messing me up. I would say it was one of the easiest bosses in the whole game, but I died to it the most because of artificial difficulty. The first time fighting Pursuer as a boss it killed me the most because I was still playing DS1 where the hit boxes are good and didn't realize I had to fight both the boss and the jank. DS2 only has 2 hard bosses due to actual design (Fume Knight and the Ivory King). Every other boss was annoying and had bs jank to make everything harder.
@@MistaZULE artificial difficulty is not real. its just a meaningless term that people use for whatever they don’t like about a game and to make them feel like whatever it is is out of their control when its not get a bigger weapon level your adp and get over it the game is meant to be hard take the challenge or don’t and don’t get pressed when the hard game is hard thats how its always been with souls games thats how its always gonna be
@@grungefrog7840 but I'm telling you man, ds 2 wasn't more challenging because of the boss designs, level designs or anything actually well made. It was jank with faulty hit boxes and adp that severely ruined the idea of the rpg elements in that you have to level a certain attribute to even play the game which is entirely stupid. I did not find ds2 harder than ds1 or ds3. It was probably the easiest of the three because it lacked any challenging levels and most bosses were just a knight or something. Ds1 was the hardest because I had to "learn" the game, ds2 was fairly straightforward with only two bosses that really challenged me (Ivory king and Fume Knight) and ds3 had 4 bosses that I considered extremely challenging (Nameless King, Freide, Midir and Gael) and had much more challenging level designs. In my opinion ds2 is the easiest, and for me it's not even close.
For me it was the easiest i think. Maybe elden ring is lower
Same the hardest one for me was ds2 honestly
from someone that played all souls games besides demons souls: Sekiro is the hardest by far, as you cant just level up other weapons or go grind to make a boss easier or get npc phantoms to help, you have to actually deal with the fighting system and learn it or youre stuck. Dark souls 3 is IMO the easiest one. The ringed city is hard, but the rest of the game is rather easy once you somewhat know what youre doing, even without any summons. Just level the right weapons, the rolling and its I-frames is already more forgiving than most other from software games. If you want to play ds3 on "literally no brain" difficulty, get a pyromancy flame and "rapport" pyromancy, get exile greatsword, infuse it with chaos and get 40 intelligence and faith. Works up to ng+8 no problem, no difficulty
To be honest, I have never once attempted to use any spells in FromSoft games. I always wonder if I am missing out. I pretty much stick to dex builds because I like the speed. Maybe one day I’ll give spells a chance.
@@Leviverzyden spell based builds are 50/50 in their efficiency because as soon as youre vs an enemy with resistances against that type of spell youre gonna have a bad time the point of the build i commented isnt the spells tho, you can build it with 0 spells as long as you go 40/40 in faith and intelligence, as chaos and dark weapons scale the hardest in ds3, enabling you to have weapons with more than 800 AR without any points in str or dex, which you cant reach with dex or quality builds. Refined exile GS with str and dex both at 99 still caps out at 709 AR
no
Ringed city is hard but the roll mechanics and overall smoothness is more forgiving than the previous games. Ds2 is on a whole nother level of bullshit and unfairness.
I’m about 25 hours through DS2 right now and can confirm, the bosses aren’t too bad but the environments seem to be the worst aspect. I’ve never been poisoned by things as much as this game.
Ds2 level design is literally "fk you lol" So many times I had an encounter and imagined that goofy troll face on a dev as they designed it.
@ i’ve come to learn that in this playthrough. Very troll-esque in it’s map design.
@@Leviverzyden just wait till barrel man, actually killed me irl
I'd say Sekiro is indeed hard but you only need to learn the rhythm of every enemy and then it feels easy asf. It's hard only for newer players. On the other hand, DS games have little to no attack pattern learning and mostly rely on how well you understand the situation and what must be done. But still, i'd rather consider it to be easier than Sekiro anyway.
someone has clearly never played Sekiro...
Sekiro is quite easy the hardest souls game for me was ds2 because of how painfully slow it was. sekiro is the second easiest
I’m going to tackle it last. I tried back in the day but I had never played any other of their games and it did not click for me then. I will save it for the end, me thinks.
Wow, that's an opinion I haven't seen before. I've beaten all fromsoft games 20++ times each... And I though sekiro was by far the easiest of the bunch. //edit: After thinking back, there's no way it's not the easiest. You can parry everything except grabs, you're ridiculously mobile, bosses attack so predictably and only have like 5 combos each, your tools can outright obliterate bosses, lightning is basically an instant victory for you, you don't have to manage your stamina bar as long as you parry properly, the parry window is ridiculously long,.. I don't think I died more than 5 times to any boss in sekiro. I couldn't say the same about dark souls 2 or elden ring.
@ you give me confidence I can do it…
I'd say it is the hardest of the souls trilogy. Definitely not the hardest of the fromsoft games.
Nah
Ds2 is way harder
No, I would say it’s one of the easier ones
Wow. I did not realize DS3 was this gorgeous.
I was also shocked by how good it looks. BB was at 30 FPS so this seemed even smoother at 60.
This had 91 on gamerankings back in the day, it stood head to toe with halo and half life 2 as the best fps of the generation, so there isn’t really any secret about it being good Also I would say thx to ps5 rewinding this game is more fun than ever before. Some of these challenges come down to downright rng
I’m definitely a fan of 2 over the others, but I imagine most modern gamers would have more fun with Future Perfect due to the aiming being more modernized. That and 2’s weapons take a bit more skill to use due to their slower projectile speed and lower damage.
Hey Folks! Did we leave any scary levels out? Make sure to comment below with some that we missed!
Wouldn't say secretly. It's defo up there probably top 5. I have constant arguments at work for saying burnout 3 is the best racer of all time
I feel like this is the perfect example of a game made by great artists... with weak designers (or lack of)
@@xItsuki I wish I’d thought of this comment. You said it so much more succinctly. I really wish I liked this game more.

Great review!
You can play any doom content you want with modern aiming controls if you use GZDOOM and manipulate the options a bit, its how i play most doom content.
Dude, just use Gzdoom as a normal human being and be able to look any way you want to. 🙂
Definitely one of my favorite ps2 games
Comparing Warhammer with Gears of War is a bit misleading considering that the characters in GOW are hunchbacked and have sausage arms and most of the time the opponents don't have as creative a design as in Warhammer. So in my opinion, Space Marine 2 is something new, superior.
Def agree on that point. I think more the content of Gears is similar. The beefcake characters is more a product of the Unreal universe from Cliff. But you can’t deny that Gears took a lot of inspiration from 40k. Don’t get me started on Blizzard…
It is not any religion, It is Roman Catholicism, The Western European Variant, that is part of why it works, it is in our cultural DNA

This makes me want to play!
To the crowd talking about how looking up and down was a limitation of the time; Ultima Underworld from 1992, over a year before Doom, was fully 3d and had the ability to look up and down. The problem was is wasn't made with a fast engine.
I swear theres been a huge surge in timesplitters content in 2024
As soon as we put this video up we also started to notice this!
@@allyoucangamebuffet it's about damn time it became more popular
It recently got added to ps5 ! That’s probably why
@@yeseniat3357 that makes sense!
Sackboy: A Big Adventure has better character controls…. Shots fired.
This game reminds us of what it was like when games where full of fun content and a complete package on release........ I miss those days.
Warhammer 40k: Space Marine II is the newest take on this idea. It’s the whole package and is a ton of dumb fun! Give it a try if you haven’t! I got a review of it coming soon.
OG doom soundtrack is awesome dude! 100% iconic.
I wish they made new Crash Bandicoots for PS like this, oh well
i wouldn't go so far as to say that astrobot will dethrone super mario, but having an awesome platformer on a playstation console is definitely something good.
Bro half of the mechanics is from mario galaxy 1 or 2. There's even enemies that look ripped straight from the game with slight modifications.
No. It’s 1 week of hype. Mario is established.
Not being able to look up/down is better imo than the warped effect that would have happened if Carmack had allowed it (like in Build engine). Also Carmack was working on the Quake engine during Doom 2's development, that's why it fell behind Bungie, technology-wise. Didn't know that they'd built room-over-room though, very impressive
Yeah looking up in Duke 3D (and I assume Marathon as well) makes me feel sick lol. It's as if you drew the screen with very high vertical FOV and then cropped the entire bottom of the image off rather than actually tilting the camera up.
He mentioned Half Life, so I guess I have no choice but to subscribe.
@@AbeTweakin wait… are you trying to tell us that half life 3 is real?
@allyoucangamebuffet shhh, Gaben is always listening!
To answer your question based on the title. Yes, absolutely. Also, you can also get platinum awards too, when doing the challenges. Mapmaker was my favorite. Was cool unlocking a lot of the characters and story mode was a blast.
nice video, but you lost me when you said DOOM's music wasn't very good or iconic? Literally some of gamings most well known and loved music, very few aren't aware or like E1M1 for example.

This game feels so good to play, today! It holds up surprisingly well

Yes, it is.
Change the size and color of your targeted reticle (300%ish) to help with vertical targeting. Mine switches to big and magenta when I’m targeting them even when I can’t see well. That also helps for hitting shots while strafing quickly on controller.
This is a great idea. Never even occurred to me.
@@allyoucangamebuffet I still come back to Doom/Doom II almost as a palette cleanser between sweaty-ass modern games. The simplicity of it never gets old.
Great video! Thank you for the shot of nostalgia 😁
We’re all just slaves to nostalgia, aren’t we?
I dunno… one of the best reviewed console FPSes of all time? Being good? Madness, I say.
I for one am shocked… shocked I tell you
Saying that Marathon is more technically advanced than Doom is a mistake. Blame it on Apple. Marathon came a year after Doom, a year after Ultima Underworld 2(the first-person RPG with actual 3D environments), and two years after Virtua Fighter (the first actual 3D fighting game). Oh, and Magic Carpet from 1994. Doom defined the "3D open-world gameplay experience" as we know it today without using any actual 3D because it would be unfeasible with the era's technology. It used Wolfenstein3D as a base engine and some clever applied math from Space Oracle Wizard John Carmack. And PC, of course.
