I just played bloodborne for the first time after shadow of the erd tree also. Just got the platinum trophy last weekend. The game is an absolute masterpiece in atmosphere and storytelling.
I haven't played ER yet and looking for a ps4 copy. but currently playing BB, Sekiro and DS3 as the very first souls game I tried this year which was Bloodborne. My first few days had a mix emotion with this as it had an eerie atmosphere along with getting ambush, overwhelmed by numbers of enemies it was very hard to get used to coming from God of war and ghost of tsushima. Now almost nearing the end of the game recollecting with how i first start Sekiro, DS3 and BB. Bloodborne was easier to get the mechanics and more fun as you became more aggresive just to get back the hp you lose by taking advantage of the Rally mechanics. While Sekiro and DS3 I have to be more properly time with dodge and parry as Gourd and Estus are more prescious there as well as stamina for DS3. Bloodborne also has killer soundtracks. And if ever Sony released a new handheld that could play games natively. I would love to experience Bloodborne on the go.
I don't wanna discourage you it's a good video but a lot of the criticisms are bit weird like the weapon transformations one, weapons don't have two modes one long range and short range That can change dramatically depending on the weapon you use a two handed weapon for example forces you to give up parrying not necessarily because of more range rather because of sheer attack power and staggering potential letting you combo enemies for example the Rakuyo
It doesn't make any sense that Sony hasn't released a 60fps PS5 patch for Bloodborne, and/or a PC release when Sony has released all of their major recent exclusives to PC and have released 60fps patches for the PS4 games when you play them on PS5. Sony re released The Last of Us like 10 times and there are what, 3 remasters for the first The Last of Us game. Yet where is Bloodborne? I honestly wonder if they legit lost the source code for Bloodborne. Everyone always mentions that From software developed Bloodborne but in fact it was From software and Sony studio Japan. Unfortunately Sony studio Japan was disbanded and I seriously wonder if they did lose the source code and that is why we never got the 60fps patch and PC version of the game. 😢
I quit this game multiple times, I just didn't understand it. I came back years later and it clicked. I've never looked back and played almost all From Software games
OMG... Hahaha..just literally started this playing this morning as well :) after beating Elden Ring w/ DLC, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro... It took a bit to get used to 30 FPS but this game is so good
I bought this game with OH DLC physical disk during Covid years and since then it has remained in my PS4/5 to this day. Not big fan of ER tbh. Bloodborne is all FromSoftware delivered in the best ways possible.
I don't think there's a gonna be a BB 2. I loved it, but I'm fine with that. Just like Sekiro, which I might like even more, I think BB was a one-off. I think their next game will similarly be something new again. This way you'll never have the watered down feel that you get with something like the AC franchise. Although it's a great game I definitely felt less psyched about DS 3 than I did about BB and Sekiro, because it felt like it was just more of the same, rather than something completely new.
bb is literally dark souls with a brown-grey coat of paint and a cocaine addiction though, sekiro is substantially more innovative and actually new. bb really barely did anything to the formula other than tweaking combat slightly and adding a 2 in 1 weapon gimmick, but the rest is a carbon copy of dark souls. objectively speaking bb is pretty much just more of the same. the only real difference is the color of the paint and the lack of good environment variety.
@@flamingmanure I agree Sekiro is more different, BUT what BB did was pretty huge back then - it removed shields. There’s even a bad little wooden shield just to prove the point. And you get health back when inflicting damage, making for a faster experience than DS which is often a waiting game with enemies if you’re not really good at them. BB also had chalice dungeons, and the smaller number of weapons worked better when Fromsoft decides to be so stingy with upgrade materials. This way I could upgrade two weapons and essentially have four. And also the coat of paint is really enticing.
I really can not into this game. I’m almost done with my ER level 1 run and the only one I’ll have left is BB. I just dislike so many things about this game and am starting to dread the run.
@@YourFriendlyGymRat in my case… I was NOT into the souls genre at all so bloodborne just wasn’t doing it for me. But I also didn’t give it a fair shake. Having played Elden Ring for 200+ hours… I’m really digging the genre now. My appreciation has gone way up. Elden Ring is my gateway drug.
yeesh bb fanboys are really desperate to keep this basically dead game relevant huh? man just get over bb my dudes, fromsoft already made far more superior games with far stronger IP prescences and sony did not like bbs sales figures and low longevity (7 million in almost 10 years and more than 60% of those sales were when the game was 15$) i personally dont think well ever get a bb remaster let alone a sequel, we might get a remake but thats about it. to be brutally honest, most of the reason why bb is still breathing, albeit barely, is the fact that its basically dark souls witha grey coat of paint, its affiliation with fromsoftware is its strongest asset, but other than that it has no other impact on the industry, not even a fraction of dark souls or freakin elden rings impact and relevance.
Eh, may be almost dead, but it's way more fun than most ever other souls game, due solely to the rally, sekiro's stance may be better, but I slightly prefer the Gothic/cosmic horror aesthetic over the pure Japanese one of sekiro... and while elden ring is amazing it's just too damn big... but let's be real what held bloodborne back was it being exclusive to Playstation I didn't play bloodborne till I got a ps4 for the 1st spiderman where as I got dark souls only a few months after release
@@flamingmanure well as someone who had never played it, I was really impressed by how relevant it felt. I had played the Demon Souls remake and it just felt stiff and dated. This was a nice surprise for me. Again, this was all just my perspective as a new player. Appreciate the comment though!
No need to be an elitist gamer about all of this. Some of us only caught onto the Fromsoftware vibes very recently. It's great that the rest of you had the pleasure of playing all of them as they came out, but let some of us play catch up in the meantime.
You ever play Nioh? These videos are a dime a dozen and all the big youtubers got their sponsorship money already, this is just scraps. The DLC proved that people can turn on anything as soon as the hype advertising money runs dry. Bloodborne was no different, it was the only PS4 exclusive for years so the hype money was there, I'm sorry for the people who never grew out of it.
DISCLAIMER: I said BB was released in 2016. I was incorrect. It is 2015.
You mention bloodborne I click on the video, I’m a simple human
Souls games scared me for years. Now I can't get enough of them.
It still give me goosebumps hearing those laughing ladies and some footsteps from that game. I love it
(Saw the title and didn’t even watch the video) and that’s exactly why I platinum’d Bloodborne in 2024
“There is no parry mechanic”
*immediately shows a clip of a parry mechanic*
In hindsight I suppose i meant there’s no shields. You’re right. It’s a perry. But damn if it feels different from ER or DS

it's amazing. Def moved up into my top 5, me thinks.
Their most recent title is Armored Core 6
I did mention that, but also mentioned it wasn’t as big a hit as Eldenring. I may try it sooner than later.
Almost 200 hours 😂😂 me over here at 650+ pre DLC

I recommend the bloodborne an agony of effort series
Trick weapons???
