The First film was Awesome!! It blew me away! The Second film....Not so much I'd felt disappointed....let down It was too long too much back story on Gwen, Miguel Repetitive......" His name is Miles Morales Again And again And Again!! This movie is a freaking Mess!! Spot is supposed to be the main villain.... Where Is he?? I remember giving this film a 6.5 I think out of 10 when I saw it. And each time I actually watched, I've liked a less and less each time. So uh yeah, I feel ya. My biggest problem was, I was really hoping to see the Spectacular Spider-Man version inside this film but once I saw him, and saw what his role was, I was so disappointed. Like even upon first watching, I didn't like that, and I really don't like it after thinking of it more and more. My favorite Spider-Man, and he's just doing nothing but excepting fate. Instead of fighting against it with the "heroes". I didn't and don't expect him to be a main character or anything. But I'd rather have him not be here then have him doing what he did. That was probably my biggest issue honestly. I loved that version of Spider-Man.

If it wasn't for Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, No Way Home would've been a lot worse. And what's worse about Tom Holland is that he doesn't feel like Spider-Man. He doesn't feel like his own character. He always has to bounce off of other heroes or mentor figures. And when they said Holland's Spider-Man 4 will be another multiverse film, I checked out. A street level Spider-Man movie shouldn't be difficult. If we're still gonna do the whole mentor thing, have a street level team up movie with Spider-Man and Daredevil where they fight the Kingpin

Honestly i enjoyed the movie but mainly thanks to miguel being a badass and how the movie looks It's extremely beautiful and had some parts that could easily be used as wallpaper But i do agree with many things you said in the video tbh It's a movie you enjoy the first time but the more you ask questions the more you see the holes and flaws it has After a while it becomes so apparent that you cannot avoid it And i hate how they treated peter in this movie Why does he bring his daughter into all this dangerous stuff? Why is he betraying miles without having an honest conversation with him? I did not like Across the Spiderverse. Here are my pros and cons. Cons 1. I get Miguel had a terrible traumatic experience, but, it doesn't mean he should be a controlling jerk 2. Ben Reilly being way more of an edgelord than he already was in the comics 3. Hundreds, if not thousands of Spider-People/creatures blindly following Miguel's orders 4. Unnecessarily overweight Spider-People 5. Race-swapped Jessica Drew 6. Jessica fighting crime while pregnant 7. Peter knowingly taking his baby into dangerous situations 8. "Spider-Rex" 9. Spider-Punk's entire dialogue being "down with capitalism" and similar annoying junk like that 10. Constant member berries to other better Spider-Man related media 11. Alternative Miles being the Prowler was completely predictable 12. It's part one. 13. Going by the first movie's logic, Miguel should've glitched out of the world his alternate self died in. The ENTIRE UNIVERSE wouldn't have glitched out of existence because one person screwed up. Pros 1. Interactions between Gwen and her dad 2. Interactions between Miles and his folks 3. The unique art direction 4. Spot actually being a terrifying and formidable villain by the end 5. Spider-Man India A friend of mine got annoyed at me after we saw this movie at the theater. He asked what my thoughts on it were. I said "eh." He flipped out and hid in the restroom. Another friend who was there wanted me to apologize. I didn't understand why I needed to. If I thought the movie was "eh," then, those were my thoughts on it. It was a mixed bag for me at first, then, I thought about it more and made the pros and cons list.

The issue is that Miles isn't the only person to take the name of Spider-Man, and yet no one gives the others any of the same complaints, leaving a clear double standard. When Peter retired in the comics to be with Mary Jane and raise a family, Ben Reilly stopped being Scarlet Spider and became the current Spider-Man at the time. Miguel O'hera is also a Spider-Man. Doc Ock even became a Spider-Man. From our view, the way we differentiate these different Spider-Men are their subtitles. Peter is the "Amazing" Spider-Man. Ben is the "Sensational" Spider-Man. Miguel is Spider-Man "2099." And Miles is the "Ultimate" Spider-Man. But these names don't exist in the perspective of Marvel. Miles has a secret identity, he can't use "Miles Morales" as his superhero name. Spider-Man 2099 is from the year 2099. Everyone in his time would simply refer to him as just "Spider-Man" because calling him by the current year would be super stupid. That's like if we called Peter "Spider-Man 1962" or whatever important years that are related to his character.

Wasn't really a fan of how Peter B Parker was portrayed in the inter the spider verse movie and its sequel. (I felt like the movie was made by a Miles Morales fan and not a Spiderman fan and the movie was meant as a response to the Miles Morales haters and people like me that consider him tokenised Spiderman and lazy writing). The Parker character was practically shat on to make Miles shine. He behaves like a Looney Toons character, behaves selfish, non heroic and is looked down on even by Miles who refers to him as hobo Spider-Man in the first spider verse movie and he's sidelined in the sequel and is practically a cameo in the sequel despite the sequel being a movie about multiple spidermen and multiple dimensions🤷. I never bought the actor who plays him as Spiderman or how the character was written, especially in the first movie. Still a fun movie but didn't like how they disrespected my favourite superhero. The Spider-Man I grew up on, knew and loved could go toe to toe with Venom, Carnage, The whole sinister 6 at once, handled himself against the sinister 12, led the x men and had the respect of Tony Stark and Reed Richard's at that point in his superhero career. I'm pretty sure he would have even taken on Mephisto and Black heart. Yeah I Had that comic in the 90s. He definitely took on black heart and won but in the into the spider verse movie he gets knocked out cold by Miles Morales’s Venom blast, (where was his Spidey sense?) and gets completely shat on for the rest of the scene, getting his head slammed through that universe's Peter Parker’s tombstone. His body has gone to shit, he's crying in the shower over his failed marriage in the flash back scene and mooching off a kid to pick up the check in a fast food joint. That was a sour introduction to the character. The only way I could accept the way he was portrayed is if that was a version of Peter we didn't know as opposed to being the version that we associate with Spider-Man. The writers don't only shit on Parker B but OG spider man in general. Forget for a second that Peter’s suit actually fits Miles at the end of the movie who is at least one foot shorter in height, but he desecrates the suit by spray painting it black as opposed to making his own suit as a way of saying he is replacing the old Spiderman. Kind of disrespectful, not just from the character but in my opinion the writer, more so the writer. I get that he wouldn't of had time to create a badass suit from scratch but May could of made him a suit just like she made his web shooters🤷 In the comics Miles got his first proper suit as a gift from Nick Fury, the suits he made himself before that were total ass. The comics gave far more respect to OG Spiderman than the inter the spider verse movie does. It shits on legacy Spider-Man the same way the new Star Wars movies shit on legacy characters like Luke Skywalker. Parker is a hero through and through and I never got that vibe in the Miles Morales centred movie. He just seemed to want to get back to his own universe and didn't care about Mile’s universes problems or that Miles needed help until the last act of the movie when he takes a u turn that comes out of nowhere and he's willing to stay behind and die to shut off the device even though he should be even more motivated to get back to his own universe to mend things with Mary Jane after seeing Miles’s universe version of her. For me Spider Gwen stole the show and was the real hero of the movie. She comes in serious, doesn't get a scratch and out manoeuvres everyone in every fight scene she's in. She presents as the most experienced Spiderman variant from the entire cast. I loved her in the movie but hate how Peter B was portrayed. Take the waiter scene when he's talking to MJ for example. We’re supposed to believe that a Peter that dated Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy, hooked up with Felicia Hardy the Black cat and married MJ wouldn't be able to compose himself around an alternate universe version of MJ. It's not like MJ is dead in his universe. That should have been a dry run for what he would say when he gets back to his own dimension. They threw away what could have been a heartfelt scene for shits and giggles. In the movie he was mostly the comic relief so much so that it looked disjointed whenever he did pull off something spectacular or didn't fail. Kind of like when Mr Bean actually does something that works. Didn't buy him as Miles’s mentor and didn't buy him as Spider-Man. Spider Gwen was more of a mentor to Miles than Peter was. She had faith in him and backed him the entire movie, both movies. Then there was the end fight scene. I couldn't buy Doc Oc referring to Miles as Spiderman which was thrown in just for dramatic effect . She never knew him as Spiderman. She would have just seen him as some kid that was coming into his powers. In that scene she is surprised to see him finally living up to the name. A bit tropey and didn't really make sense for the character. She should of underestimated him and been over confident like when she faced him the second and first time but she seemed concerned about his arrival even though she was already fighting against 5 other spider verse versions of the character who were more experienced as being spiderman/spider woman.🤷 Rant over! Still a good popcorn flick but I disagree with anyone calling it the perfect superhero movie or a masterpiece. That's just people's dopamine, serotonin, endorphins, and oxytocin getting the better of them, kind of like when we saw Rey doing all the spectacular things she did over the 3 Star Wars sequels that didn't make sense within the movie's own lore. Those movies weren't master pieces either.🙂 Whilst I enjoyed the spider verse movies for what they were they didn't change my opinion of the character. The director failed in that regard. Miles is still tokenised Spider-Man as far as I'm concerned. The movies didn't make me like him anymore or like him at all for that matter. He still represents lazy writing and everything that's wrong with Marvel today. All the pretty special effects and emotional manipulative music score they offer up in the final movie won't change that for me.

Crazy how we can say the same things for every variation of The Flash but we wanna talk about how Miles isn't Spider-Man and is a token character. I agree that Miles borrows off of Peter in regards to villains, I do wish Miles had more of his own villains, but that's really about all I can agree with. Miles in Spiderverse had a fundamentally different arc than Peter, which every Miles does follow to a somewhat base degree. His arc is about living up to being Spider-Man and if he can ever be as good as Peter. Peter doesn't have that kind of arc because he's the first Spider-Man. Peter's arc is about doing the right thing no matter what comes his way and brings him down. He takes the "with great power comes great responsibility" arc as his own. Miles always had this idea in his mind, this isn't something he's struggled with like Peter. Miles' arc is most always him trying to live up to being Spider-Man, despite the fact he has everything he needs to BE Spider-Man, he just has to start believing that himself. Miles is the only one who ever doubts what he can do, and a large part of his character is finding that confidence in himself that lets him stand with Peter. This is further expanded upon in Spiderverse where he is quite literally told to his face, BY Miguel, that he is an anomaly and is a mistake. He's told he shouldn't have been Spider-Man, and that his differences make him a bad Spider-Man. The entire point of that story is that following the basic thread of the Spider-Man storyline doesn't make you Spider-Man. Spider-Man as a character has always been about doing good with the power you have. Miles was Spider-Man long before he got powers because he's always held that sense of responsibility. That's what makes the message "anyone can wear the mask" so impactful, because so long as you use your power to do good in the world, you can be Spider-Man. If you don't like Miles, just say you don't, no one is gonna judge you for that. However, my problem comes from you misinterpreting what Miles stands to represent as a character, and how you saying he "isn't Spider-Man" goes against his arc and what the writers of his character are trying to say. It's not rocket science, anyone with a basic level of literary comprehension skills can get that plot point through their head.

To me I would say Episode 3 is dumb. Because Hank Pym killed the Avengers. To hurt Nick Fury. Not people like Maria Hill and Phil Coulson. The Avengers which would make sense if it was Black Widow. I originally bought the PS5 bundle for Spider-Man 2 because I was so in love with the first one but after I heard some reviews on how this game was woke, pandering, and had a lack lustered story, I honestly didn’t play it. Watched a few reviews (honest reviews) that analyzed all that was wrong with the game. Yours was one of em. Funny how they whitewash a black character for the sake of villianizing them, and blackwashing a white character for representation. You literally could've made A-Train the one to sexually blackmail Starlight (which works adapation wise), and have The Deep do his own thing (A-Train be white and The Deep be black).
