Mannix (1967-75) - Season 1 Intro & Close
Просмотров 10 тыс.8 лет назад
This is from season 1 of Mannix which aired in the 1967-68 season (totaling 24 episodes). This intro has a few elements that are in stark contrast to later seasons; the "Mannix" title is a computer printout, playing off the fact that Joe Mannix worked at Intertect, the high-tech detective agency, and Joseph Campanella as the Lew Wickersham character is second-billing rather than Gail Fisher as ...

The most famous of the season was probably 2x17 The Jar, though 2x08 The Cadaver and 2x31 I felt really defined the new hour-long format. Episode list: www.rerund.com/alfred-hitchcock-hour-the/

OMG thank you : ) that was THE CLUE of a LIFETIME! Catholics and Eastern Orthodox Christians believe this Jude is the same person as Jude the Apostle; Catholics hold that Jude was a cousin, but not literally a brother of Jesus, while the Eastern Orthodox hold that Jude is St. Joseph's son from a previous marriage. I'm watching this animated presentation of Beetle Bailey. It does not quite live up to the comic script that we are used to. As with books converting to movies, it is up to the individual viewer to determine in the people, voices, and situations are the same; if they are not the same, they could be better or worse depending on perception. I found the voices annoying and reaching. The situations are reaching or trying to card to be campy. The solutions just wrap up each episode so that they can hurry to the next one. Painfully unfunny entry from King Features Syndicate. The same kind of very funny and striking observations from the Mort Walker strip we see everyday, at this writing from the newspaper, is greatly lacking in this blistering, shrieking and boring cartoon. Unlike many of these Comic Strip/Comic Book adaptations, King Features/Famous Studios & Company meticulously strove to maintain the original concept and flavor of the strip. This show was syndicated in 1963, during the early 60's, as part of The King Features Trilogy, along with other King Features properties Snuffy Smith & Barney Google and Krazy Kat, under the collective title, Beetle Bailey and His Friends. In Chicago, Illinois, it was slotted at 10:30 or 11:00 AM, Sunday mornings. It was shown over the local, NBC Affiliate; which was and is WMAQ (formerly WNBQ), Channel 5. It was an odd time period for animation, we would most likely agree; it languished in a time and day normally reserved for Religiousprogramming and other "Public Service" oriented shows. Theme song: He's the military hero of the nation, though he doesn't always follow regulations. At the sound of Reveille, He is here for you to see, And we know you'll laugh at Private Beetle Bailey! Beetle Bailey! Beetle Bailey! ...

_Temperatures Rising_ is a series that, unfortunately, is difficult to see these days. There is no DVD or blu-ray release, no streaming, and its only syndication was decades ago. That's a shame, becuse it was funny and well-made, and featured a likable cast (especially Nancy Fox, who was extremely winsome and very pretty). There _were_ some episode posted on RUclips several years ago, but these have now been blocked.

@@hiawathabray885I found “The Twilight Zone” to be scarier. The problem with me with a lot of episodes of AHP or Alfred Hitchcock Hour is a lot of episodes had pretty much the same type of people English or Theater trained actors with distinguished annoying voices and some episodes dragged on too long.

Did you know that Gracie was originally supposed to be the straight woman? The married team is amazing! One of my favorites. The duo first teamed up in 1923 following the break up of George’s partnership with straight man Billy Lorraine. Burns later recalled… “ they laughed when she asked the questions and didn’t laugh when I gave the punchline, so I gave her all the jokes.”

Perhaps it’s no coincidence… But the same year, 1955, that Walt Disney had established himself as a household name, Alfred Hitchcock was one of the few film directors known to the general public - popularly perceived as the world’s leading purveyor of chilling suspense. Hitchcock‘s droll persona, portly form and inimitably lugubrious voice created one of television’s most familiar icons. I love this series!
