The period tracker in game is so useful for me. I never used one before and now I get why people use it and having it in game helps me keep track when previously I had to wait until I was in immense pain to know my period was about to start. Also it's nice to be told I will be ok and someone giving me kind words when I'm on my period :) I don't want to date so this game is perfect for me to feel comforted at difficult times.

the game does have sexual aspects, considering some of the cards they've dropped and some of the audios as well. but even then, so much time is spent on building up the moments, on ensuring consent, on the comforting moments after, on the plot around it all. and even then, it's only a small portion of the game, something the player has to actively seek out to experience. unlike a lot of fan service in gacha games, it's not forced onto the player. i also just love how the guys' bodies themselves aren't designed and animated sexually. after playing games like genshin and wuthering waves, where the female characters' bodies are animated in a way that their every movement has to trigger the jiggle physics in some way or form, it's refreshing to see a body that moves... normally. i love how mc isn't made to be the curviest woman alive. the ways all the characters move just feel human, and yeah, they're hot, but they're not made to be sexual objects, if that makes sense.

also like alongside the period tracker, they released an in-game article talking about menstrual health, healthy blood flow and how to deal with cramps. they put care into implementing it and for me, it just felt nice to not have a period being treated as this horrible, taboo thing. like there's multiple times in the game where they talk about the mc's period, and it just feels nice having a normal biological function being treated as, yk, normal also, the love and deepspace universe canonically gives period sick days and workers are given additional subsidies for period products. this is the utopia i dream of.

Thank you for this response post. I used to watch tectone a lot and was used to his antics and rage bating but this just crossed the line. I personally really like otome games (my pfp and username is literally from an otome game) and it just made me mad when so many comments on his video talked about periods in a sexual way. Sometimes my cycle is really late or I get really bad cramps at the beginning of it so it’s important for me to track it and I’ve started taking medication for period pain. Honestly thank you. I can't deny that there is sexual content in the game, but I still feel like there is more nuance? Unlike the games that LADS is compared to, the LADS guys don't have suggestive default clothing at all. They look quite normal, aside from broader shoulders and defined musculature lol (comparing this to other games where women have hips 2x the size of their waists, thick exposed thighs, and huge exposed chests with jiggle physics). As someone who's not interested in sexual content, I personally find it very easy to avoid in LADS. For example, a certain suggestive skin is NOT for F2P. You can just mute the gacha card stories, do other stuff, and collect the game gems after 6-10 minutes with no impact on plot. It's just like a little bonus for the people who enjoy it. I liked your point about differentiating this game from those Newgrounds dating sims because I was having trouble understanding why I feel like they are different. The sexual content is truly not the end goal. The universe and character psychology are so rich and interesting. (Edit: I would also like to say that I play some of the games that LADS gets compared to lol. I am truly a gacha gamer.)

On one of the twitter posts I saw mentioning that period tracking isn't sexual, there had apparently been a (proposed?) community note essentially saying "actually, period tracking IS sexual because it means they're figuring out when they can get pregnant!" like..... no??? okay sure, my usual period tracker also estimates ovulation, but I wish I could turn that part OFF because I DO NOT NEED IT. Period tracking is a necessity for almost every women. I bet these men have never cared about anything or anyone in their lives, including themselves, as they are writing from their mothers' basements. My husband tracks my period. Because - what a surprise - we love each other and want to spend time together, so he need to consider my period. No theater if I need to pee every half an hour and such. Also we are partners - who can expect that - and have to do choirs in our household. When I'm on my period, adjustments are necessary, and he wouldn't plan to go grocery shopping for 20 kilos of food on my period. That's what men, who have long lasting relationship, do. We have been together for seven years already.

Men who claim that periods are sexual probably don't have any sisters, close female friends or a girlfriend. Or they might be projecting their own kink onto others. Because periods are about as sexual as a nosebleed. Girls as young as 9 can menstruate and everyone is encouraged to track their period, as irregular cycles might hint at health issues. This has nothing to do with sex at all and it makes me so uncomfortable when I see men being weirded out by it, or worse, sexualizing it. I honestly really like the period tracker feature. It's convenient and it's also kinda nice to get a few sweet voice lines when I'm in bed with cramps. It's like letting the game know "hey, i have the flu" and the character then telling you to take it easy and rest a bit. It's more wholesome than anything tbh.

I’m a very gay woman who recently started playing this game because I thought it would be interesting, and it IS. the storyline is actually fantastic imo-super compelling. it’s like reading a cool fantasy novel (which I haven’t bothered to read in years) and I’m having a complete and utter blast. hell, I should be playing the MH Wilds Beta right now but I’m just so enthralled by this! I also love & even respect how thoughtfully catered towards women it is. it feels careful and sometimes very touching, not like anything a “gooner game” would ever be lmfao. Thanks for releasing this video, when I see many young incels who are out of touch of reality and follow stupid alpha males podcast or people like tectone could not be anymore disappointed, like the game can be gooner but period tracker is not one of it, I am in pain, drained and there are times I wish wasn’t a woman, not sure where the goon is. And to be honest I am using the period tracker not even for comfort, it’s just manage when I need to buy supplies and food I can eat and when I can’t go swimming or going out with friends, it’s just a simple management with comfort as an extra.

Played hollow knight about a year ago, it truly is the closest to a perfect game I’ve ever seen.
