I'm a young kid (18) and I'm looking for my first car/truck, I really like the look of these things, and they are extremely cheap. From what I've heard they're easy to work on, comfy, and what I need for the snow days and any extra work that I might need to do. I'm really excited to maybe get one of these.

You got me wanting to get one even more now. I've always loved that style. My gf dad had just bought a brand new f250 lariat 460 4sp in 86 and I got a chance to drive it. I've wanted one ever since.

I've got an 83 f-350 85 f-150 and 2 86 f-150s and they all run and drive and I've got less than 3000$ in all of them

My 1985 F-150 was still running at 259k miles when northeast rust took it.

It doesn't matter if somebody else thinks they are worth buying or not. I grew up driving one and I just bought a 1980 f150 4x4 manual with the 300. I suspect that I eventually will get a f250 or f350, but older I think, around 75 or so.

I always wanted a 1986 ford pickup....

Nothing wrong at all with the bullnose Fords.

I’ve had over 20 obs trucks, 1995-1997 351 zf5 is the best. The efi system in the later obs is so reliable and the fuel economy is a lot better. Have close to 340k miles on my 96 and it’s been the best truck I’ve ever owned. I paid $600 for it in 2019 with just over 190k miles. I’ve done distributor (pick up coil) a tune up ( cap plugs rotor) both fuel pumps, rear axle, front bearings, u joints.

I have a Early 1983 F-250 "Light Blue" 4x4 single cab with a 351 Winsor and a NP435 paired with NP208 that I'm trying to put on the road. Besides some rust, it's a great truck!

Bullnoses look awesome to me: chiseled, straight lines with a grille design that still echoes the one from the previous generation. Tough- and classic-looking, all at once. After them I'd take the Brick nose, and last of all the Aero nose. Yeah, I like my trucks square: heck, Enzo Ferrary himself said in 1960 that “Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines.” 😎😎 Last of all, I'd never own any of the "jellybean trucks" that came from 1997 onwards. Well, except for the Super Dutys. Owned a '99 F-250 and a '05 Excursion and miss them both.

Well I started driving when these truck were used with 30 thousand miles.

Miss my 84 F-150 I-6 with the granny gear. Went all around the country in it while in the Army.

I have an 85 E350 1 Ton Cargo Van and it is an excellent vehicle. Unfortunately I really wish it was a F-250 TRUCK because I need an open bed in the back for legitimate work. The auto transmission in it is bullet proof and the 460 has tons of low end torque.

When I was a teen, my neighbor bought a new F250 and I saw him drive it about 250 k miles, and it was still running good when he gave it to his son

I love them old Bullnose Fords. I drove one for 20 years. It was a 86 f250 4x4 460 with 4 speed. It was a completely different pickup when i swapped the feedback carburetor and intake for Edelbrock carb and intake.

I've had two of those trucks, both were great machines

Straight 6 was work horse engine in those Ford's.. have had both motors 460 and 351, loved both

Those trucks were almost the end for Ford trucks. I live British Columbia and the logging companies always used fords when they got the new ones in 1980 the lightened chassis flexed so bad that the box would hit the back of the cab and the chassis eventually broke in half. Ford also lightened up the twin I beam front axles and the radius rods would crack and the I beam inner pivot mounting brackets would break loose. The frame also cracked where the steering box mounted. I owned an Auto repair shop at that time and we got a lot of repair work out of them.

They were worth the money the new ones are not worth half what they want for them

I bought one new in 1983, December. It was 1984 model. I was 29. Years later I gave it to my son. He still has it and drives it periodically. It is an F150 4x4. We towed wood trailers with it. Did not have to use 4x4 to do so. Of course four speed granny gear helped out. But we were starting out in second gear😅! Awesome trucks.!!!!

2wd is reason red truck will not sell. That simple.

I don't think the AC was a delete. It was an add option. I had an 86 F-250 4x4 that I ordered from the factory. The second fuel tank and the four speed were options too. Mine was an XLT, so it had cloth seats and upgraded trim. Fake wood grain inlays and carpeted lower door panels.

The 460 was a beast, lived the 390 as well, great truck engines.

I already have an 86 4x2 4.9 L 2 barrel carb straight 6 4 on floor ( 3 with overdrive ) and I wouldn't trade it for both of yours. worst truck FORD ever made as far as Truck sales goes.

For the record the worst trucks Ford ever made were the 80-to roughly halfway though 81 when they put the giant holes in the frames to save wait saying it didn't compromise strength. I owned one and I call 🐂💩 on that claim.

I have a 95 F150 Eddie Bauer extra cab short box 5.8 4x4 No you can't have it. Working on a frame up resto of a 94 F150 with a 300, 6 auto. Reg cab long box. BTW, I'd take either one of those trucks in a heartbeat.

I disagree the modern ford engines with the belt drive oil pump is the worst design ever 😢
